- At last, the scorching hot waves of the sun vanquish any sign of old spring chills, signaling the coming of summer's blaze. Yes, school's out, beaches are packed, and the cities run amuck with the reckless abandon of the rebellious youth. Of course, any normal free spirit at this point would be out making their mark, by any means imaginable. Even though everyone abides by the same rules of reality, these punks try their damnedest to push it to the limit, and kick reason to the curb every day, much to the chagrin of your friendly neighborhood conformists or local law enforcement.
- If it wasn't obvious enough, you probably fall into this group; and if you don't, boy are we gonna start feeling sorry for you soon.
- For you, it was a normal summers night. The first day of unprescendented freedom was finally upon you, and boy you gobbled up all you could. It's time to wake up and fly! But throughout your day of summer fun, you couldn't help but feel something was...off. You could swear you were hearing voices in your head from time to time, and got the chilling feeling they were listening back. Your vision began to blur once every rare moment, but that's more than enough to cause an absolutely spectacular wipeout or two. You could even swear the very fabric of reality was breaking apart before your eyes, buzzing and fizzing like your city decided to cheap out on its cable bill.
- But whatever. You probably weren't feeling well that day, it happens to the best of us. It was finally time to recharge yourself, and hopefully the next day would be significantly less bogus.

- What you got was...something else entirely.
- Your certainly felt better, probably got the best damn sleep of your life. Everything else wasn't quite as baller: You know things were all sorts of wrong when you woke up on the side of the street, under a noisy bridge instead of the comfort of your own home! Your morning appetite for some Eggs Benedict immediately slips, which may or may not be due to the scent of crusty bird poop, and you get up, noticing that your ride has been conveniently placed right besides you. You take this mysterious act of courtesy and move on, only to be briefly paralyzed by a stinging sensation on your right hand. You're instantly compelled to check it; The back of your hand looks like it's been scratched up with a rusty branding iron, the words "TEAM X" glowing in a bright red sheen. What the heck does this mean?
- You run out of the noisy and pigeon-shit encrusted underbridge, covering your eyes to the bright morning light reflecting off the sky-high buildings ahead of you. Now your days of being a no-good rudie has probably brought you to the very ends of your local city, and maybe a few other ones as well, so you're pretty certain this place isn't anywhere you're familiar with.
- The situation seems so surreal, but it looks like you're in good company: A few other dizzified free riders appear to be in your same predicament, right down to having your same team name imprinted on the back of your hand. You can't help but feel that sticking together is an absolute necessity, especially after the large titantron in the center of the city flicks on and explains your situation.

- "Hey hey HEY boys and girls, saints and sinners, valley walkers and street warriors! You're listening to your boy here, the one and only DJ TK coming to you LIVE from the Brahman City Square Studio, here to ring in the THIRD ANNUAL-"
- The hyped up man pulls down a cord, letting down a shower of confetti in his greasy studio as well as unobscuring a gaudy paper sign that says "VELOCITY TRIAL! *Canned cheers and applause*"
- As dumbfounded as you may seem, the man continues on. "Yes, that's right my party animals, it's time once again to get down to the funky sounds of this perilous jam! You know the rules; If you want to escape this lovely city for some wacked out reason, it's up to you and your team to SHOOT! and score as many points as possible before your opposition does. How you get points is easy! You'll be provided with plenty of opportunities to score points, be they completing obstacle courses, tagging your mark in the most inappropriate of places, and even, or should I say, ESPECIALLY competing with one of your many rival teams in brutal challenges to see which tribe of rudies shall reign supreme. There's a lot more to it than that of course, but your boy TK here will keep it surprise for the sake of showmanship. Your vision is augmented, so any opportunity to score points is indicated with a handy little marker overhead."
- The DJ crosses his arms and a light gleans over his glasses. "Of course, at the end of the week, if you don't score enough points to meet the weekly goal, then....heh..." The room darkens and the DJ steps back, menacingly bellowing an evil laugh as the video goes out of focus.
- It's clear as a crisp spring dew: The only way to escape from this mysterious city is to blaze through the Velocity Trial at all costs, or meet a terrible fate. Strangely, it seems the countless citizens around you are unfazed by this bizarre transmission. Can it be that only a select few were capable of seeing it?
- Perhaps this all becomes obvious, as soon as a mysterious skateboarder drenched in a shadowy complexion and flowing white locks sitting atop a bus makes his presence clear. Personally I wouldn't trust this dude with tying my left shoe, but seems this kid knows a thing or two...

- Brahman City seems to be a perfectly normal metropolis at first glance, with all the trial stuff shoved aside. Yet continuous exploration shows that some things are...off. Is this place in America? Is it even in the modern day? Does it even exist in the same universe as ours? Exploring and uncovering the twisted secrets of this place is every bit as vital as competing for big scores. It'll take all the skills you have if you want to truly thrive and survive in this place, and make it back home in one piece. But if you can't, then at the very least, the locals seem willing enough to show you around.
