Red Meteor Quest Part 20

It'd been a few days since you'd done your training with Saya. After going over your encounter with the purple warrior, and everyone agreed to keep their guard up, no doubt if they transformed, he'd probably show up again. And sadly, Saya was only one girl and so she couldn't be at every single place at once. To that end, you all just decided to do your best if the time for conflict arose.

Saya was annoyed, wondering why they don't just take the fight to the warrior and by extension Koffman, but according to Sally, now wasn't the time. Not yet anyway, she was working on something that she claimed would help you all out. You had no idea what she was planning, but after seeing that weird gun thing of hers you weren't one to complain about her taking her time.

As of now, you were at Sadie's house. The police officer had another day off and  as such the two of you were snuggled up on the couch. Sadie was a lot more...blatant with her shows affection. She didn't bother wearing a robe anymore, instead going around in just her underwear like she'd done before. She even made you breakfast and tried (and failed) to clean up the house.

You quickly shoo'd her away when she tried to do that much to her displeasure. It was still fine though and she had snuggled up to you lovingly. Still, as nice as this was, you felt like you had to head out on patrol today. You weren't sure why, but you knew you had to go out today.

"Something wrong Red?" Sadie asked

"Nothing...I just think I should get going on patrol." you reply with a stretch

"Oh come on, you can take a day off can't you? Please....for me?"

Damn that face was cute...

"Crime never sleeps Sadie!" You exclaim proudly "And as such, I cannot rest either, besides, it'll just be a small foray into the city. Just in case, to make sure that there's nothing amiss."

"My, aren't you quite dedicated." Sadie laughs standing up "Fine, then let's go."

"Wait...what?"

"Let's go. We're going out on a crime stopping spree!"

"But it's your day off...?"

"Well, I don't mind playing hero some more if I get to do it alongside you, so let's go."

"If you say so..."

You proceed to let Sadie get properly dressed, unlike how you were before, she's not willing to suit up while beng naked underneath. Once she's finished with that, the two of you move out to the backyard and transform.

"Well then, let's get going then shall we Red? You're the leader, I'll leave it to you to decide what we tackle first."

"You got it." you reply with a nod

After some rooftop hopping, you're in the middle of Downtown Rosen, things seem okay for the most part, not a lot of people are going to try anything in the middle of the day...

Crash

Well, most people wouldn't try something in the middle of the day. You and Sadie head to the source of the disturbance to see a car crashed through the front of a store. It takes up the entire front and two men quickly hop inside of it, ready to make their escape

Not wasting any time, you leap off the building, landing in front of the car.

"Oh shit, it's Red Meteor! Punch  it!" One of the thieves shouts

His compatriot complies, slamming his foot down on the pedal and speeding towards you. However you don't move, as the car comes towards you, you steel yourself and grab the car as it slams into you. Your suit shoots out sparks a bit as you hang on, you can feel some pain, but it won't slow you down...not too much anyway.

"Red!" Blue Comet shouts as she leaps down to help you, she completely tears off the driver's door and pulls the man off and tossing him out. The other thief gets out in fright. The car, now with no driver in it is out of control and so mustering your strength you manage to somehow, flip it over.

The crooks are shaken by that display of strength, but even so the vainly get to their feet and brandish swords at you.

"Eat shit you freaks of nature!" One of them yells charging at you with swinging madly

This is kind of sad really. You're pretty sure they know they're in no way going to win this fight...at least you can admire their courage for trying

You let the man continue running at you as he brings the sword down on you. You effortlessly stop his attack, holding the sword in your hand before you heat it up. The heat travels down to the hilt causing him to drop it as the blade melts into a liquid mess.

Sadie doesn't miss a beat and simply punches her attacker in the face. Seeing how bad this went for him, the other man surrenders and is soon apprehended by the police, You and Sadie leaving the scene by heading up to the rooftops again.

"Well, that was rather boring." Sadie sighed

"That's just how it is, we've done a good job rooting out the really bad guys, so this part of the city is okay for the most part."

"Hmmm...maybe we should check out some of the other areas then...? Maybe we'll find someone  there who is worth going after...?"

"Maybe, it couldn't hurt..."

It was then that you got a familiar feeling, one of impending danger. You and Sadie just stood there on the roof...she could feel it too. No...no it couldn't be. So soon...?  But you didn't have Saya with you...but where is he? Y-you're just imagining things right...?

"Red...Why do I have a bad feeling suddenly?" she whispered to you

"I don't know...just...just keep yourself ready and...don't get hurt okay?"

As soon as you finish talking to Sadie a spark of electricity flies between the two of you. You both dodge out of the way, missing a few other blasts that come towards you, only to see the Purple Armored Warrior once again.

"So we meet again Red Meteor...and you brought a friend too, how nice."

"A pleasure..." Sadie murmured keeping her eyes locked on him

"Wait, that one's a girl?" The warrior asked lowering his guard for a moment

"...Yes? A lot of people noticed already."

"Huh...I was expecting boob armor or something...are you flat?"


"S-shut up! Let's just fight already!"

"Response like that...totally flat."

"QUIET! YOU'RE GOING DOWN RIGHT RED?!"

You try hard to stifle your laughter. Sadie still notices though "Am I going to have to ban someone from the closet again?" Sadie growled

"F-fighting now!"

"That's what I thought." She said quietly

The Purple Warrior stared for a moment "I get the feeling I'm treading awfully close to some sort of relationship problem, but I don't care. Let's get this going!"

You both draw your weapons, ready to take him on. You'll just have to make sure you don't take too many hits from his electrical attacks.

The two of you get ready as the warrior lunges at you both. Sadie manages to dodge his swing, expertly ducking as it comes towards her, but as for you...you aren't so lucky, he manages to catch you with a solid hit, knocking you off balance and then sending more electricity through your body. Your HUD fuzzes a bit before going back to normal, but good lord does it hurt!

"R-Red!" Sadie cries, taking aim with her gun and opening fire rapidly, the blasts are enough to knock the warrior back some, but he isn't too fazed.

"So you've got some tricks after all?" He chuckles, he channels forth more electricity in his axe before dashing at Sadie, doing his best to swipe at her, while she dodges and attempts to get a few potshots in on him. You stagger to your feet, the pain leaving your body.

Sadie keeps up her dodging, delivering a hard kick to the warrior's midsection as he topples backward. Afterwards she follows up with by encasing him in ice. The enemy being frozen solid.

"Not bad Blue Comet." You say walking up to her "Thanks, he isn't so tough."

Boom

The ice that had been encasing him is broken open as he once more assumes a stance.

"Hah, it'll take more than that to defeat me!

You turn to Sadie "You were saying...?

"Oh shut up..."

You meet the warrior with your saber, the two of you clashing for a bit before he kicks you away. You slide across the roof, nearly falling off before you catch yourself. Sadie this time isn't too lucky as he manages to get a hit in on her with an electrified punch, which causes her to let out a painful shriek

"That's right, scream!" the warrior exclaims before tossing her to the side of you

"You okay Blue Comet?" You ask getting to your feet

"Y-yeah, god that stuff hurts!"

"I know."

The two of you get back to your feet, staggering  as you try shaking off the pain as the Warrior stalked ever closer to you and Sadie

"You know, I gotta say I'm disappointed. I come all the way out here to kick your asses and you're not even putting up a decent fight. Oh well, an easy kill is still a kill." He mutters charging his axe up with power to bring it down towards the both of you.

"Now be good and die!"

As the Warrior finishes charging, he blasts you both with another wave of electricity. You manage to regain enough strength to get in front of Sadie and block the blast, but you both go flying into the street below. You're near the park where you met Jane and Saya some time ago, and the Purple Warrior lands down in front of you both as you get back to your feet.

"Damn, you're really stubborn. You really ought to die you know!"

He began charging up another blast, but it was Sadie who stepped forward this time. Standing in front of you so you wouldn't suffer anymore damage

"I refuse! You won't defeat us! So do your worst! We'll throw it back at you tenfold!" she shouted, though it was clear that her legs were wobbling a bit

"I like your spunk girl! I'll do JUST THAT!"

He slammed his axe on the ground, electricity traveling towards you both. However, it is then that Sadie's armor glows brightly, the attack not reaching you as both you and the warrior look on astonished at her.

Her armor is completely different now  as it has taken on a surprisingly different appearance, and she no longer has her blaster, instead now  having her hands be empty.

"The hell is this?!" The Purple Warrior exclaims in shock

"Be quiet. You disgusting thug." Her voice was a lot deeper now too. "Come Red, we must force this one back."

You stand next to Sadie, who calmly raises her hand as ice flies from it.

"Wai-wait, what the hell is this?!" The warrior shouts before dodging. You put power into your saber, managing to catch the warrior off guard and getting a good hit on him. You then grabbed him by the leg and tossed him in the air. He was stopped instantly by Sadie raising a hand and freezing him in sphere. Another swift movement of her hands caused several pillars of ice to stick into it before the thing shattered.

As the warrior falls you follow up by delivering a flamed infused punch to his chest, sending him flying back. He slides across the ground, as sparks fly from his armor. You and sadie approach him as he stands up.

"What the hell...this wasn't...I'll-I'll let you two go for now!" he exclaims hopping to a rooftop and leaving you two standing there.

As the tension leaves the situation, Sadie instantly drops, panting heavily

"Home...please." She says weakly

You scoop her up in your arms and do as she says, doing  your best to get her home as fast as possible. Once there, you enter from her backyard door, and set her down on the couch

"Ugh..." She moans "My body feels like lead. Po-power down."

She returned to her normal state, still panting slightly

You head over to the fridge and get a water bottle. Moving back to her, you put the cool drink in her hands which she gradually downs.

"Are you okay?" You ask patting her head

"Yeah...just exhausted, that guy really hits as hard as you said...and then there was that new form. Mode 3. I didn't even know I could do that."

"It's not so bad, I mean, now you have a trump card against the enemy. That attack was impressive."

"Yeah, but I feel so tired, I can barely move. Seems like a double-edged sword."

"Could be worse, you could be dead."

"Good point."

The two of you spend the rest of the day like this, you called the others and let them know what happened, and soon the other girls stopped by...even Tim came by later on, and sat you all down as he begin to speak. Sally was on speaker via Sadie's phone, you decided she was worth keeping in the know as well. I mean, she helped you out.

"Now then..." he began "In light of these recent attacks, I Tim Drakesfield on behalf of The Council hereby state that the assault on Koffman labs must begin immediately!"

The entire room is quiet

"So you guys have been listening to the advice of a ten year old...?" Sally states from Sadie's phone

"So what if I am ten! This is dangerous, you guys have run into him twice already, if we draw this out, he'll start getting upgrades to overcome your powers!"

"And how do you know that...?" Sanja asked

"Seen it happen on Hyper Hero Force In Space Episode 45."

"Sally, never doubt Tim.You never doubt The Council" You bluntly state before turning back to your friend "I'd love to go, but Sadie is exhausted, she's gonna need some time to rest up."

At this Tim rubs his chin..."Fair enough, we let her rest for the day, but you need to be careful Red. Don't transform unless absolutely necessary, and if you do, get somewhere safe and turn back, that goes for everyone. That's twice this guy has given you a run for your money...we take him lightly anymore."

The others all nod in agreement.

"The kid has a point surprisingly." Saya comments "This gives Sally a chance to finish whatever she was working on too right?"

"Indeed it does, a few days of work and it should be done. I'd have it finished sooner, but I have other projects that'll push it back."

"Then it's decided, in a few days time, you'll all move out understood?"

"Yes sir!!!" you and other others shout while saluting (except Sadie for obvious reasons)

With that being the case, everyone decided to keep Sadie company for the night. It wouldn't do to just let her be miserable all alone, even if you were with her.

"Thanks everyone." Sadie groans

"No problem Sadie, We're all Red's women, so we gotta look out for another, besides, since I'm here, I think I'll get a chance to wake him up by su-er...tickling him. Yeah that!"

The others all looked at her with pointed stares as you were left confused.
