Alright, OP. Let's talk.

I used to love Spirit Science ... erhm, at least the sacred geometry part of it. Back in September-March, I was so enthusiastic, regular, and helpful that they actually modded me on the forums.

And that was about when I realized that they were all batshit crazy.

For instance, the head mod (the regular forum posters to coup de tat by myself and a few others, but whatever) thought that he was the 3D manifestation of a 12D elf king from space. Seriously.

And then I was introduced to Bayesian rationality (courtesy of Eliezer Yudkowsky) and started to critically examine my beliefs and Spirit Science. My conclusion was that they needed some hard revision, so that's what I did: I began fact-checking people, striking them down when they were wrong, and encouraging the growth of skepticism. One particular poster, named BitterCynic, was the exemplary skeptic. The hero that the forum needed, not the hero that the forum deserved.

And you know what they did?

They banned him.

After he had been posting for a month or two, two mods who were hurt by his "trolling"- aka, explaining to people how science proved them wrong- and "derailing" of threads- aka, people freaking out and calling him a troll and getting into arguments with him when he explains that they are wrong. So they banned him.

I basically said that if he went, I'd go, too. And they said "fine". Not that I was trying to use my position as leverage (which is what they still continue to preach, although I have explained myself to them in PM), but I have a few principles, and I stick to them. A user being banned for no reason does not stick to those principles. Another mod agreed with me and stepped down, too. We are still in exile, even though the most of the forums rose up in protest of the banning. However, that does not matter: no matter what the others thought of it, his voice is now silenced. There is no point.

Around that time, the creator of the SpiSci videos, Jordan, declared to his fanbase that he had been contacted with the fourth reincarnation of Thoth, who gave messages in a few videos while wearing a Guy Fawkes mask. This Thoth advokated the return of "wisdom" and the loss of knowledge, saying that it led to darkness- which anyone who knows anything about Egyptian mythology would immediately recognize as the exact opposite of what the real Thoth would say or want.

I did some detective work (see https://pastebin.com/nCRuL4WW) and discovered that "Thoth" was actually Nathaniel Gromalski, a criminal and lunatic. Not Thoth in any way, shape, or form. In fact, he realized that he was Thoth on the same day that he was arrested for trespassing in Florida.

So, moral of the story: SpiSci is going downhill, fast. If you want to believe some of that stuff, go read Drunvalo Melchizedek. The videos are deteriorating into madness, and it appears that the captain is going down with his ship, so jump overboard while you still can.

Crazy prediction: Jordan will turn it into a suicide cult after nobody "ascends" into a higher dimension come December 21. Repeat, repeat: get out while you can.
