So a little background; for those who don’t have pets, some are truly special. That’s not to say that you don’t love them all and they aren’t a member of the family but some are more than that. Some really brighten your life, they are like little people and while you have them you think they are going to be a part of your life forever. They are just so special that you come to be unable to imagine a life without them. Then inevitably whether it is quick and merciful or slow and painful they get taken away and they leave a hole that never quite heals in your heart. Even with their absence and even with the pain of loss you know that you were lucky to have ever had something so special to be a part of your life.
Through all these years I had never stopped missing her and it was a vain hope… a reason I kept going; that one day I would have the power to be reunited with her. Maybe it’s because I suck at letting go.
Anyways when I saw a chance to import a pet in this jump… I took it, who wouldn’t. The worst I could get was a no. But when I became conscious in this jump and saw her… even if she looked different, even if she was a Vulpix now. Somehow I knew it was her. I grabbed her and hugged her tightly sobbing like a baby. I didn’t care who or what was around. I didn’t care what anyone thought I had her back and that was all that mattered.
When Neko-chan who it turns out was there asked me after a minute if everything was alright. I managed a tearful “It is now.”
Cheesy I know but you try thinking up something cool to say when you are that emotional. The strange thing was I felt Princess trying to hug back with her little paws. I think I heard a tearful “I missed you too.”
Anyways I don’t know how long I was like that it took a while to regain my composure.  I managed to calm down and explain what was going on to Nekochan. She teared up to hug us both. Her pokemon Lucky just looked up at us like we had lost our mind.
A suspicion my family had had about Princess was confirmed soon after we arrived. If she could talk, she would never shut up. She loved everyone and to her there were no strangers, only friends she hadn’t met yet.  She was also very curious asking questions wherever we went.
Anyways we were in a tropical paradise. Nekochan being Nekochan wanted to wander every inch of it. She had never played the games but seemed serious about training. Her Eevee Lucky evolved pretty quickly into espion. People thought it was odd that she played music instead of actively commanding her Pokemon but her bardic music combined with her Pokemon’s ambition to be the best was a devastating combo. Of course all that was during the day, during the night Nekochan was an active participant in the night life. She was a little annoyed she wasn’t supposed to drink yet being about the same age as me, however she still found time to party and enjoy life.
As for me I wandered with Nekochan, we had many small adventures helping people. I didn’t really care to be the best that ever was. I didn’t really want to put Princess through fighting. I bought a piplup egg off of a breeder on the internet. I hatched it and named him Iskandar… Ok Piplup, a high maintenance pokemon that thinks it’s better than everything else and offends real easy… Also Princess HATED him. At first she wanted to play with him but when he started hoarding in on her attention… yeah that friendship was over pretty quickly. She gave him what must be the pokemon version of “you were adopted” by telling him he was a rotten egg purchased by mail order from the internet… so we had to spend the rest of the night hunting him down because he ran away crying.
It took a while to find him. Princess actually started to worry about him and realized she had done something wrong. We eventually found him, She apologized to him. I really need charisma perks. It took both of us and a little help from Nekochan to smooth over the damage that had been done to Iskandar’s pride.
I decided after watching Nekochan steamrolling over the poor inhabitants of the islands that I should train my pokemon so they can defend themselves in other worlds. We had been warned that we could only keep six in addition to our starter and Nekochan had a full team (Taloflame, Metagross, Gengar, Snorlax, Beware, and Garchomp) in addition to Espion at that point.
This made Nekochan happy, she in fact mentioned she was a little worried. That while getting Princess back was wonderful, I hadn’t really done much in this jump and she had been getting worried as I seemed to have no motivation. In other worlds I was trying to change things and improve the world… Here I seemed to have no direction.
I had to admit she wasn’t wrong. I explained to her I wasn’t like her and the mess that the last world had been had kind of left me tired. I needed a world to just take it easy on and relax. She then promptly bonked me on the head and told me I should have told her that’s how I was feeling.
I couldn’t help but chuckle and admit she was right. She then slapped me on the rear and told me that When I was done resting we were going legendary hunting. That surprised me She had a full team and when I brought that up she said Yeah they weren’t for her but for me. She knew I had 5 slots left and thought I should fill them with the most useful pokemon I could find.
To which I pointed out that all I had was Princess and Iskandar to work with. Of course she was waiting for this and reminded me I was wanting to train them to defend themselves anyways it just meant I better train them really well or heaven forbid pick up a couple more to help carry the burden.
So there is one small flaw with how I created Nekochan and imported her. She was an android and then she had a perk that made her tireless. She has never been tired. So when we started training the day began when she felt like it. I hate mornings and I hate being dragged out before the sun rose because. I feel bad because apparently Princess and Iskandar felt about the same about things  that I did.
Anyways we slowly but surely worked our way up from practicing moves, to fighting Rattatta to fighting whoever happened to be around or walking by who was willing. That was my life for a while.  We got a firestone for Princess so she evolved into Ninetales and eventually Iskandar evolved into Empoleon. It was like a training montage, only it took a lot longer and involved me missing a lot of sleep.
I also added a Rowlet I named Hooty to the team who quickly evolved into Decidueye. I also hit up the breeders on the Internet to find a Tyrunt egg which hatched into Rex who we trained into a Tyrantrum Then we ran into a problem… The Alolan Legends just didn’t do it for me.
At first Nekochan was… annoyed. I think that’s a good word for it. She loved the Alolan nightlife. However my first target was in Sinnoh.
Thankfully this must have been the dub because everyone spoke English (Or Japanese and I didn’t notice)
It took some time to acclimate ourselves to Sinnoh and learn the way around. Thankfully Nekochan was still a bard and could talk anyone up so we quickly learned unless it was needed it usually hung out in its own dimension. We met Cynthia who initially wasn’t too hot on the idea of my capturing a legendary.
She was quite insistent that before we went around potentially unleashing something that could damage or destroy Sinnoh that we defeat her, actually specifically I defeat her. The logic being that if I wasn’t strong enough to beat her there was no way I could control the legendary I was looking for.
We agreed on a 3 on 3 battle. I didn’t really want to throw Princess against her. Long story short, She beat my ass. I wasn’t cheating by using powers or anything like that and she was Champion for a damn good reason. That Garchomp was fast and deadly.
Immediately Nekochan wanted to challenge her to avenge me but I stopped her. She told me I had talent but I was nowhere near ready to challenge a legendary.
I thanked her for the battle and promised to face her again. She said she wouldn’t be surprised to see me.
So I trained. I hit every gym I could and learned battling against professionals. While I was at it I studied Cynthia, analyzed her fights, attacks she favored, how she used her pokemon. I built a simulator programming it with our pokemon’s capabilities and with her attack patterns. My vacation was officially done. Time to channel my Inner Seto Kaiba.
It took two years of hard work and pure Autism but I smashed my way through the league and faced her as an official challenger taking on the Sinnoh Elite 4 first and then making it to her.
She seemed amused to see me again. I fought her 6 on 4. My pokemon were a lot stronger than they had been but she had a number advantage. Maybe had I been a normal trainer she would have had a shot but I wrecked her. I wrecked her good. I knew what moves she was going to make before she did and had counters ready. I never let her get on the offensive and she wasn’t as good when wasn’t the aggressor.
That was a lot more satisfying than it should have been but she acknowledged my win and named me the new champion and told me that she no longer had any right to tell me what to do on hunting legendaries but to please be careful.
I tracked down Cyrus the old leader of Team Galactic in prison and got information from him and I acquired the adamant orb and we went off to challenge a force of nature.
So normally challenging Dialga in its own dimension would probably be a bad idea but I was determined at this point. Everything I had gone through for this battle… There was no way I would let even a force of nature stop me.
I didn’t use my powers at all, just strategy and my pokemon’s powers. It was a hard fight but Rex’s earthquakes and Princess’ Will o Wisp attacks wore it down and eventually it submitted to being caught.
Nekochan admitted this had been harder than she thought and it was alright if I wanted to quit but I refused. Next we hunted down Girantina the pokemon devil. Let’s just say he wasn’t happy to see us but he too wound up bending the knee and being captured.
At this point Nekochan wanted to go for Arceus but I by that time was done with legendaries. I picked up a female Ralts and named it Rose and trained it up to being a Gardevour. I defended my new championship to keep my skills sharp but really I was waiting out my time there. I did a little bit with my corporations that were actually in this world. Made some more money but wound up donating it to worthy causes. I was really ready for the next challenge. Hopefully someplace with some charisma perks.
