He's an asshole

Covet: Tae was pacing about on the phone with Eli, "It's fine, I was going to tell you, Drew hasn't said anything about coming to see me yet. So if that changes I'll let you know, Okay? Eli... I'll be okay. Goodnight." She said as she hung up and groaned making her way into the kitchen. Thought what she'd told him it was a complete lie, because Drew had been telling her he was coming back this week. She put her phone in her pocket and opened the fridge staring into the fridge.
Alexithymiaa: -Noah had stepped out of his bedroom and onto the balcony to stand and smoke pot because he was at least courteous a little bit. For now. Leaning his arms down on the railing, he brought the joint up to his lips to take the last hit before smashing the remnants into an ashtray he'd stuck on the ground in the corner next to his door. Seeing Tae walk by through the living room, he stepped back into the house and into the common area, watching her in the fridge. "Ya' know, it's not a magic eight ball."-
Covet: "I was kind of hoping it was so that I could get the answer of when my life is going to finish flipping upside down." Tae said flatly then sniffed smelling the weed on him, "Please tell me you have more of that...I need something to settle my nerves."
Alexithymiaa: "I can help flip you back around." He said with a snicker because he thought he was smart. Crossing his arms over his chest, he slowly strolled over into the kitchen where she was standing, looking her over. "I do... but first you need to tell me why your nerves need settling."-
Covet: "Because Drew's going to be in Portland sometime this week. He might already be here for all I know, and he could just be waiting things out." She said crossing her arms as she let the fridge close. "And I just have a nervous feeling about it all." Tae sighed reaching up to play with the ring on the necklace she was wearing.
Alexithymiaa: "So? Fuck that guy. Nothing is going to happen. He's not going to do shit." He retorted, shaking his head. "And if you need me to like... go with you to work or whatever, I can totally do that. Just in case you're nervous he's going to show up and make a scene."-
Covet: Tae rolled he eyes at him as he blew it off and tried to weasel his way into her place of work. " Stop, you don't know that, you don't know Drew." She went back to opening up the door to the fridge and grabbed a water out of the fridge, "He's not stupid enough to make a scene at work. He'd wait until it was just me and him. Okay, I told you can we go smoke now?"
Alexithymiaa: "All the more reason I should go with you, so you're never alone then." He said with a grin, checking her out again. "Yeah yeah, alright." He said, turning to step back outside onto the balcony and into his room to grab the bag of joints he had rolled. Digging into his pocket for a lighter, he toyed with it, lighting a joint and taking the first hit because inconsiderate.-
Covet: "Noah, as honorable as you're trying to be, I think... He'd just get rid of you quickly before dealing with me." She said walking out on to the balcony, "Plus, he probably already knows who you are. So you'd just make yourself even more of a target."
Alexithymiaa: "What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" He asked sharply, passing the joint over to her and leaning his forearms on the railing. "He's not going to do shit. He's probably all talk. Most assholes like that are."-
Covet: "NOAH!... He's not. Okay. I know, from experience. This... isn't exactly the first time I've cheated on him." She said as she took the joint, taking a drag off of it, still holding on to it. She'd have to take a couple more hits before she even began to explain to him the details of the last time.
Alexithymiaa: "From experience?" He repeated with question, turning to face her since she'd gone a bit more serious on that last one. "What happened last time?"-
Covet: "Nothing... forget I said anything." She said quickly as she took another drag. "please...forget it."
Alexithymiaa: "Obviously it's not nothing if you say you know from experience." He said, sliding his hands down into the pockets of his pants.-
Covet: "Drew... can get violent, when he's upset." Tae said as she handed him the joint. "Regardless of who it is. Especially at the person who upsets him."
Alexithymiaa: -He just stood there and stared at her holding the joint out for him, the gears in his brain turning as he started to put the pieces together of what she was getting at here. "Has he hit you?"-
Covet: Tae bit the inside of her cheek, nearly flinching at his question as he asked it. She took a deep breath and just lowered her head. "I think that might be an understatement." She said softly.
Alexithymiaa: -As if he didnt hate Drew enough just from the small things she'd said, now he really hated him because if he ever maliciouly laid a hand on a woman, his father would tear him to pieces with his bare hands. He set his jaw, turning his face away from her to stare out across the backyard. "You know thaat's not okay, right? Like... did you keep seeing the dude after that?"-
Covet: "I know!" She said loudly then got quiet, " Drew yes, the other guy... No. But Drew said he was sorry and said it wouldn't happen again. He took care of me afterwords, he made up for it. He's not all that bad. Just sometimes... his temper is kind of short. So if he is around we have to pretend like we haven't been hooking up at all. Otherwise, it's going to be really bad."
Alexithymiaa: -He was just sort of staring at her in disbelief at his point, his eye just short of twitching. "You're joking, right?" He asked, barely blinking. "If someone hits you... you don't just go with them. That's fucked up. Please tell me you see how fucked up that is." He was trying not to yell at her, but he wanted to yell at her.-
Covet: "You don't understand. It's not that simple. It's really really complicated. and I know it's not ideal, but that's just how it is... You know what, just forget I said anything." Tae said. "I knew I shouldn't have told you. Nobody understands." She turned around and started to walk into the house.
Alexithymiaa: -He moved quickly, stepping in front of the door to block her way back into the house. "You're right, I don't understand. I'll never understand why you're willing to let someone hurt you." He paused, his face tense. "You know, when my sister was in college, she dated this asshole who thought it was okaay to do the same thing. You know what happened?"-
Covet: "Okay but he doesn't hurt me if I don't piss him off. And I'm pretty good about doing that every now and again, so it's not exactly like I was in the right either." She said defensively. "What?" Tae crossed her arms and turned away from him.
Alexithymiaa: "She got a restraining order and he never hurt her again." He said defiantly, watching her back. "People piss me off all the time, that doesn't mean I go around hitting them. That's not how life fucking works, Tae." He started getting a little heated, his voice harsher. "You shouldn't aaccept that shit from anyone. For any reason."-
Covet: "He's also my future sister in law's cousin. So it's a family thing. Getting a restraining order means that family dinners from here on out are going to be awkward as fuck, and that somehow just feels worse, then just doing my best not to piss Drew off. I don't get why you are so upset, it's not like it even concerns you."
Alexithymiaa: "And if you told your brother that, I bet he wouldn't give a shit aabout it being awkward. He's probably more concerned about you than some stupid family dinners." He furrowed his brows, taken back that she'd say something so stupid. She seemed smart before. "You don't get why I'm upset? You just said this guy beats on you. Why wouldn't I be upset?"-
Covet: "My brother doesn't know. Adam doesn't know.. the only person who knows is you." Tae said. "Because I don't want it to be awkward. It's already been awkward. You don't know the stuff I've done with him, that's already been found out. Nobody respects me because of all that as is. This would just make it even worse." She told him trying not to get all emotional, but she's a girl.. a very dumb girl. "Because it doesn't even have anything to do with you. besides the fact that I cheated on him again with you."
Alexithymiaa: "No one would see you differently because you stood up for yourself." His face and voice softened when she was very obviously getting emotional about this, dropping his arms from across his chest. "It has something to do with me because we're friends and I don't want to see you put yourself in this position."-
Covet: "I've tried! Do you know how hard it is for people to take you seriously when they've caught you in the middle of your brother's proposal giving head to the now future bride's cousin? Or when they've come home to you two going at it on the stairs where they can't even avoid it? The only thing standing up for myself has done, is made it worse." Tae said then shook her head, "We're fuck buddies at best, you don't even know my favorite color, or food."
Alexithymiaa: "I doubt that your brother wouldn't take you seriously if you told him the truth, regardless of what you guys did in the past." He said, leaning his back against the door. "So what if I don't know your favorite color or your favorite food? I have a lot of friends that don't know that kind of shit about me, that doesn't mean they aren't friends. Unless... you don't want to be friends." He said that last part a little more gingerly, not exactly wanting to know the answer.-
Covet: "I didn't say that. I'm just used to being someone's fuck buddy not their friend." Tae said regretting her earlier statement. "It's just not easy because I've lied so often. It's like being a constant disappointmet. Just.. can we stop talking about this now... I'm getting a headache." She said pretty much lying because she just wanted to get out of the awkward conversation
Alexithymiaa: "Well then we don't have to be friends." He said, tossing his hands up into the air in a sort of 'giving up' motion. "Yeah, whatever. I need a shower anyway..." He mumbled, easing off the balcony door and walking over to his own to pull it open, stopping in the doorway. "Regardless of what you think of me, I still think you should tell your brother."-
Covet: "Noah.. I didn't mean that we couldn't be..." She frowned and just dropped her head, feeling even worse now, because she knew he was right and this was the most non-perverted sincere thing he'd said or done, in the short time she'd known him. "Yeah... I know." Was all she said as she went into her room and closed the door to go cry like a little bitch about the problems she's done caused for herself.
