  1. Hi!
  2.
  3. This is Lee from the MIT Science Fiction Society. We've met briefly a few times at some conventions and a couple events around town. Would you be interested in coming to speak to us? We love having authors visit and talk about their writing, past and future projects, or experiences.
  4.
  5. In particular, I really enjoyed attending the panel at this last Arisia when you discussed cultural assumptions in SF. I also know you do translations of Chinese works into English. Something that MITSFS has begun caring about more lately is expanding our foreign language selection, both in terms of in other languages and finding translations. I want to continue to push that discussion forward and make more of our members and volunteers aware of it, and its importance--and bring it to MIT somewhat more widely as well.

  7. While we'd obviously love to talk to you whenever you have a chance, I'd also like to see if you have time in fall, once the new freshman are around and people are back from their vacations. I would like to get them excited not just about the books but about challenging these tendencies in the fandom culture, and maybe broaden the horizons.
  8.
  9. Thanks so much for your time,
  10. - Lee Fuchs
