  1. Raiding Rules
  2.
  3. 1. In raids, always listen to the raid leader and assistants.
  4. 2. Master looting rules are in effect for all raids. Loot is worked out using DKP (Dragon-Kill Points). Read more about the looting rules here.
  5. 3. You must turn up to raids thirty minutes prior to start time. Invite times will be posted on the calendar event on the website.
  6. 4. If you have never raided with Varsity before, you must watch the tankspot.com video guide for the raid we are doing that night. We will tell you which bosses we plan to kill and you need to watch the videos for those.
  7. 5. If you get to a boss in a raid and do not know the strategy, ask. We would prefer to explain than to wipe. However, we do expect that you know the strategy somewhat before you even enter the raid.
  8. 7. Items such as the satchel of spoils from Sartharion will ALWAYS be raid rolled. The only items this applies to are those where everyone needs it.
  9. 8. If you sign up to a raid you are required to turn up. If you cannot turn up, you need to supply us with a valid reason a minimum of 24 hours before the raid starts unless it is extremely urgent.
  10. 9. You may not leave in the middle of a raid unless it is urgent. If you continue to do it, you may be raid banned or have DKP removed.
  11. 10. Sign ups will be done with the raiding system on the site. People who sign up for a raid will be split off between raid leaders for various classes and taken on the raid. On a Wednesday, the group you go with on that night will be the group you continue with throughout the week. *Blank* raids will be posted for the rest of the week with times and you will go with your group for that week at that time and at that date.
  12. 11. You must raid at least once a week, unless you have a reason such as being on holiday.
  13. 12. We raid on the following days:
  14. * Wednesday Night: 2000-2300 ST
  15. * Friday Night: 2100-2330 ST
  16. * Sunday Afternoon: 1700-2000 ST
  17. These are the nights of our main raids (which will be Naxxramas[ and Ulduar]). We may do OS, EoE and VoA on other nights during the week.
  18. 13. You cannot go AFK during a raid without permission of a raid leader. Every hour of raiding we will have a 5 minute break for people to go to the toilet and get a drink.
  19. 14. The raid does not end until the raid leader announces it. We will never carry on for over 10 minutes past the end time of the raid.
  20. 15. You must only talk English on Ventrilo for raids and in raid chat.
  21. 16. Everyone must at least listen in Ventrilo for raids. We would prefer you to have a microphone so you can talk.
  22. 17. You may PuG the follow raids:
  23. * VoA 10
  24.
  25. Looting Rules
  26.
  27. 1. We use a DKP system to assign the loot in the raids. You can see the current standings of our members in terms of DKP here.
  28. 2. The DKP system is a buyout-roll system. Items have a specific price and you purchase the items with your points. If more than one person wants the item and has the DKP to purchase it, there will be a roll between them to decide who gets it. However, if you enter into the roll and lose you have to give up 25% of the DKP cost of the item as a penalty.
  29. 3. If you bid on an item and the loot master feels that it is not an upgrade for you, they reserve the right to give the item to someone else who also needs it who is rolling for it if it is an upgrade for them.
  30. 4. You can earn DKP for the following:
  31. * Turning up to a raid you signed up for, on time (+1 DKP)
  32. * Killing a boss on a guild raid (+1 DKP for 10 man, +2DKP for 25 man)
  33. * Killing a new boss on a guild raid (+2 DKP for 10 man, +4DKP for 25 man)
  34. * A raid rolled item which you do not win (+1DKP)
  35. 5. You can lose DKP for the following:
  36. * Bad conduct in the guild or in a raid
  37. * Not listening to the raid leader
  38. * Disrespecting the guild
  39. * Not turning up to a raid you signed up for (-2DKP)
  40. 6. We reserve the right to change the values of someone's DKP for any of the reasons mentioned above or another reason we feel their DKP needs to be lowered/raised.
  41. 7. You may only win 1 item per night unless nobody else wants it. However, if you have been after a particular item for a long time (and someone else wants the loot as well) and have already won something that night, it is up to the raid leader and the others who want the item whether or whether not you should be allowed to purchase the loot. There will have to be a unanimous decision if they will let you roll. If this happens (as rarely as it might) you will have you pay triple the normal DKP cost of the item.
  42. 8. If you want an item that nobody else wants and do not have the DKP to purchase it, we will allow you to go into the negatives to get it. However, you will not be able to get another piece of loot until you are back in the positive, but you may still use this rule even if you are in the negative. Be careful though, as you may get such low DKP that you cannot purchase an item later on which you really wanted.
  43. 9. No loans.
