A Song that is Outside

In the world of an innocent dream, of magic and wonders, those who weave spells, known as Songs, are known as Songstresses. Songstresses, in term, sings the Songs written by the talented Composers, breathing life into them as the Songs are performed.

There were the songs that begin and end all things, the Song of Creation and Song of the End, Song of the Dust. There was another song outside of space and time, however, lurking just outside of perception - a magical chaotic frequency where even the ears of the most talented Composers couldn't ever perceive. A song of all constants and variables, holding infinite knowledge within infinite possibilities. The song defined the world, by existing outside it, humming the Song that is Outside to keep the Dissonance at bay.

In studying the Song that is Outside, the Composers waste their life, burning them like wax to fuel the candle of knowledge. All that attempted to understand what is Outside invariably goes insane, a set constant. In their madness, the Composers scream, and their scream became a wicked harmony that eventually became the Song of Knowledge and Passage, Lurker at the Threshold, Yog'Sothoth. But that's another story entirely.

The Song that is Outside is created from the aural negative space of all songs that exist, including Song of Creation. The Song that is Outside is, in effect, all sound and noise that aren't part of any songs. The alien being lurks between the aura negative space and whispers in a tongue alien to all, a voice said to be "calming for Dissonance and keeps it in slumber, and drives even the most stalwart Composer mad instantly with equal dose of despair and maddening curiosity". As such, it carries many un-song-like behavior, such as being able to be heard by deaf folks. It does not have a shape or story, for it is a force of all that is unnatural, and it is both composed by all collective beings at once and not.

The negative of all is named Tru'nembra, The Flautist of Dissonance. It is the instrument that does not exist in any shape or form, the accursed form incorporeal and sonar. The Flautist of Dissonance occasionally takes the form of a fell wind, devastating everything in its path, when summoned by performing the Song that is Outside - only doable by performing extremely abnormal music, such as ones that a Songstress might sing at the times when their hearts break and they fall to become Tragedienne. The wind cause all living being to rot and wither, as their Original Notes, or souls, are robbed and refilled by the aural negative space, reanimating as various forms of undead. Tragedinnes that specialize in performing Tru'nembra are known as Dirgesingers, able to call forth an army of undead with the power of their voice.
