- I've been dealing with mental health issues for a long time now, and in the past few months I've decided enough is enough and have sought to get help for it. I've been to the doctors and to a therapist a few times, and I got prescribed an anti anxiety medication last week.
- The first time I took the prescription I had an allergic reaction that took me out for a day, which was a day that we were supposed to do a big project at my work. I felt like shit because I let everyone at my job down. They were understanding about it, but I hate letting people down like that.
- I'm now on a different medication and I feel that it is helping, but I think my body is still trying to normalize. It seems like I can't have any alcohol with my new meds so that really sucks, because I do like to drink. I guess I have to go sober now lol, but if it comes down to it I'd rather have better mental health than be able to get drunk.
- I know there's a huge stigma in the USA for men getting treatment for mental issues, but I knew that I was just going downhill if I didn't get help. If you are having issues, please see someone about it. Your health is more important than other people's opinions. I'm just lucky that I have a job where I'm covered by my health plan. I hate that in the USA if you don't have insurance there's no way of getting treatment. People shouldn't be suffering because their employers won't provide insurance.
- I'm glad to have friends and family that have been supportive over the years. Y'all are great.
