  1. The Octorok twisted and turned its soft torso turning every which way, dragging Link ever closer with each heave. Inside its now-opened mouth was a sea of undulating pleats. Spending even one second inside would reduce a body to pulp.

  3. Link thrust his hands outward and searched frantically for something to grab onto but, his efforts seemed to be in vain and Link was only a hair's breadth away from the maw of the Octorock

  5. There was only one course of action left for Link.

  7. He tossed away his sword, pulled out his bow, and loaded it with an arrow from his quiver. He lined the tip of the arrow with the critical spot on the Octorok that he wanted to hit. It was one of its shining eyes. He let the arrow fly.

  9. It pierced the fog as it shot forth, a straight shot, unaffected by the wind. It found its target in the eye of the monster. A loud cry rang through the white fog. The tentacles that had restrained Link lost their strength. He took the short opportunity to wrestle his way out of the suckers and take to his feet. He found his sword in the brush and reclaimed it before turning his attention to the Octorok that was blinded by both the arrow and its own anguish.
