Daniel Dodging Johnny

	Johnny opened with a flurry of punches and kicks, driving Daniel back. Then Johnny switched to a wheel kick, which Daniel evaded by ducking and countered with a strong reverse punch to the stomach.

	"Point. LaRusso. Continue."

	The crowd was still and silent — almost as if they feared to break the boys' concentration. Daniel and Johnny circled, each looking for a point Of attack, each oblivious to the rest of the world.

	Suddenly, Johnny lashed out with a backhand slap, followed immediately by a strong side kick. While Johnny's leg reached for Daniel, Daniel dropped onto the mat, and, sitting, shot his legs around on either side of Johnny's support leg. Before Johnny could even get his other foot to the floor, Daniel twisted his legs around Johnny's ankle and brought his opponent crashing to the mat. Swiftly, Daniel scrambled to his knees and delivered a chop to Johnny's neck.

	"Point. LaRusso."

	The crowd burst into applause, stunned by Daniel's lightning reflexes and sure technique. For a brief moment, Daniel listened to the appreciative shouts and clapping. He enjoyed it. He noticed a look of surprise mixed with admiration from Johnny.
