He looked at the many pieces of metal he'd gathered from his excavations around ancient ruins over the past few years. It was what had gotten him interested in Magic as he noticed odd wavelengths coming from the artifacts. He continued experimenting with them and learning about the arcane . It was this time he started the attempts to recast this metal.

The first attempt failed with the foundry exploding violently. The second had the metal turn black and refused to conduct heat when trying to remelt it. This would be the third time he would be trying and he only had enough for for the hilt of a blade, something he was going to work around by making the blade out of plasma.

The thrid attempt went off with out a hit and the blade had been casted with out any real problems. As he worked on the blade adding a few modifications he found working with it was harder then normal metal but it did bend to his tools with time. Eventrually he had the electronics installed and had been able to make it so the hilt was self powering. Shockingly the metal seemed to be able to gather mana into it and it was that energy he was able to power his blade off of this mana.

When he turned it on he felt a massive swell of mana pull into the blade as the magical energy had created some entity do to the metal it had been cast from. So it was safe to say the Blades first words caught the Scholar off guard. “Hello Creator. . . Why have I been created.” The blade asked. “Uh. . . To help defend me” I said softly as the blade was quite. “Understood”
