  1. Great news for those seeking employment in Qatar! Qatar is looking to fill around 150,000 job openings for Filipinos as the country is in the midst of a construction boom due to its preparation for hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2022.

  3. Hans Leo J. Cacdac, chief of Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) said that Qatar sent 78,426 job orders to the Philippines, on top of the initial 500 job vacancies for medical technicians and nurses at Sidra Medical and Research Center in Doha.

  5. Hotel and resort workers, architects, master electricians, dentists, mechanics, safety officers and construction workers are also needed in Qatar.

  7. Hussein bin Youssef Al-Mulla, Qatar’s Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs informed the Philippine delegation during a meeting of the Philippine Embassy in Doha that more than 94,000 visas for Filipino workers were reserved and will soon be deployed.

  9. The sectors with the most number of job opportunities for overseas Filipino workers are health, construction, services and production, POEA chief Cacdac said.

  11. Qatar's Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs reminded the Philippines concerning Article 33 of the Qatari Labor Law which prohibits the payment of recruitment fees or job placement fees. On account of this, POEA has warned the OFWs about the charging of recruitment fees of the agencies for jobs to Qatar.
