  1. ## World Map
  2. Sigurd's capture of Evans Castle comes too late. Edain is\n
  3. not there, instead already well within Verdane's borders.|\n
  4. Verdane's territory is blanketed in a thick sweep of forest.|\n
  5. The nation is widely dubbed a "barbarian kingdom" by Grannvale's\n
  6. people, owing to their constant raids on Grannvalian soil.|\n
  7. However, the reign of King Batu has seen an end to Verdane's\n
  8. infamous border raids, much to the relief of Grannvale.|\n
  9. A pacifist, King Batu has long worked to build a lasting peace\n
  10. with Grannvale, while also keeping his aggressive sons appeased.|\n
  11. Ultimately, however, it was Batu himself who violated the peace he held so\n
  12. dear. Batu's three sons have unexpectedly launched an assault on Grannvale.|\n
  13. Cimbaeth, the second son, lord of Genoa ... Munnir, the eldest,\n
  14. lord of Marpha... And Jamke, the youngest of the three.|\n
  15. Lurking deep within Verdane territory, the three now await the\n
  16. arrival of Sigurd. Edain's fate... Batu's sudden belligerence...|\n
  17. Sprawling before Sigurd lie the great forests of Verdane\n
  18. - and within them, the answers he seeks.|\n
  19. He prepares to take his first steps into the spirit forest of folklore...|

  21. ## Intro
  22. ## Naoise Alive
  23. \g[Courtyard]
  24. \r[5]\f[5|Sigurd]
  25. \s[5]\b[5|2]\w[4]
  26. Ugh, this is such a mess...\n
  27. I had hoped we could rescue\n
  28. Edain without this much trouble.|\b[5|0]\n
  29. Why does King Batu continue to refuse our\n
  30. request for peace? I don't understand what\n
  31. he hopes to accomplish with this conflict.|
  32. If this continues, we may need to\n
  33. go as far as to invade Verdane.|\n
  34. Something I would like to avoid.|
  35. \s[-2]
  36.
  37. \w[16]
  38.
  39. \f[0|Naoise]\m[0|1]\w[8]
  40. \s[1]
  41. Lord Sigurd!|
  42. \s[-2]
  43.
  44. \r[5]
  45. \m[1|2]\w[8]
  46.
  47. \s[5]
  48. Hmm? Naoise, there you are.|\n
  49. Have the prisoners decided\n
  50. to give us any information\n
  51. on Edain's location yet?|
  52.
  53. \s[2]
  54. Indeed... We had to get rough\n
  55. with them, but they finally caved.|\n
  56. Lady Edain is being held captive\n
  57. at Marpha Castle, which is quite\n
  58. a ways southwest of Evans.|
  59.
  60. \s[5]\e[5|2]
  61. So, that's where Prince Munnir is hiding...\n
  62. What about the other castle, the one close\n
  63. to our location: Genoa. Who guards that one?|
  64.
  65. \s[2]
  66. It should be the middle son\n
  67. of King Batu. Cimbaeth.|
  68.
  69. \s[5]\e[5|0]
  70. And how likely do you think he would be\n
  71. to let us pass without starting a fight?|
  72.
  73. \s[2]
  74. ... I would say next to zero. I've\n
  75. heard his personality is even worse\n
  76. than his elder brother's.|
  77.
  78. \s[5]
  79. Hmm... We'll need to plan a way around it,\n
  80. then. Thank you, Naoise. Please let Quan\n
  81. know I want a war council this evening.|
  82.
  83. \s[2]
  84. Of course, Lord Sigurd.|
  85. \s[-2]
  86.
  87. ## Intro 2
  88. \g[Castle Gate]
  89. \f[5|CavalierM-1]\fc[5|Nordion]\name[5|Cavalier]
  90. \s[5]
  91. Ah, Lord Eldigan! Where are\n
  92. you off to this evening?|
  93. \s[-2]
  94.
  95. \f[2|Eldigan]
  96. \s[2]
  97. I need to see a couple people I know\n
  98. who are currently at Evans castle.|\n
  99. You're doing a great job here, I\n
  100. thank you for your service, soldier.|
  101.
  102. \s[5]
  103. Thank you, sir!|
  104. \s[-2]
  105.
  106.
  107. ## Intro 3
  108. \g[Chamber]
  109. \f[5|Sigurd]\f[2|Quan]
  110. \s[5]
  111. Well, what do you think, Quan?|
  112.
  113. \s[2]
  114. What do I think? I think you're\n
  115. mad, Sigurd! You want to split\n
  116. our army into two forces!?|\n
  117. How will we manage to win against\n
  118. Verdane's massive army with that\n
  119. sort of tactic? We'll be overwhelmed!|
  120.
  121. \s[5]
  122. It's the best way to approach Genoa.|\n
  123. Their core army is infantry soldiers,\n
  124. meaning they'll try to lure our cavalry\n
  125. into the forests to try and fight them.|\n
  126. So, I want you to lead a unit to\n
  127. divert away the bulk of their forces.|\n
  128. I'll lead another along the cliffs\n
  129. of Jun river and sneak around to\n
  130. Genoa while it's undefended.|
  131.
  132. \s[2]
  133. ... I must admit, that does make sense. Still,\n
  134. that hinges on Cimbaeth not realizing our plan.|\n
  135. But, it could certainly work--|
  136. \s[-2]
  137.
  138. \f[0|Oifey]\m[0|1]\w[7]
  139. \s[1]
  140. Lord Sigurd, Lord Quann, you\n
  141. have a visitor from Nordion.|
  142.
  143. \s[5]
  144. From Nordion?|
  145. \s[-2]
  146.
  147. \f[1|nil]\f[2|nil]\w[8]
  148. \f[6|Quan]\w[16]\f[0|Eldigan]\e[0|1]\m[0|1]
  149. \s[1]
  150. Long time no see, Sigurd. Quan.|
  151. \s[-2]
  152.
  153. \event
  154.
  155. \s[5]\e[5|1]\e[6|1]
  156. Eldigan! Oh wait, I should be\n
  157. calling you Lord Eldigan now, right?|
  158.
  159. \s[6]
  160. It really has been a while!\n
  161. Last time we saw you was at\n
  162. your coronation ceremony?|
  163.
  164. \s[1]
  165. Nope, the last time the three of us\n
  166. were together was at your wedding, Quan.|
  167.
  168. \s[5]
  169. I've forgotten, Nordion is just a stone's\n
  170. throw away from here, isn't it?|
  171.
  172. \s[1]
  173. That's right. That's why I decided\n
  174. to stop by, you see.\e[1|0] Why do I find\n
  175. the two of you suddenly occupying Evans?|
  176.
  177. \s[6]\e[6|0]\e[5|0]
  178. Ah... It's a long story.|
  179.
  180. \s[5]
  181. Let's discuss in another room, in\n
  182. the event someone else wants to\n
  183. use the room for a strategy meeting.|
  184.
  185. \s[1]
  186. I'll follow your lead, then.|
  187. \s[-2]
  188.
  189. ## Base Start
  190.
  191. ## Oath of Friendship
  192. \g[Dungeon]
  193. \f[2|Eldigan]\f[5|Sigurd]\f[6|Quan]
  194. \s[5]
  195. You see, the Verdanites abducted Lady Edain\n
  196. of Yngvi. They're made it amply clear that\n
  197. they don't plan on releasing her to us.|
  198.
  199. \s[6]
  200. We sent a messenger, we've heard no response.|
  201.
  202. \s[2]
  203. So, that's how it is... My people were\n
  204. concerned that following your invasion\n
  205. of Verdane that Agustria would be next.|\n
  206. Of course, I never believed that, but\n
  207. the Lords of Agustria are... ambitious.|
  208.
  209. \s[5]
  210. I suppose that makes sense. Regardless,\n
  211. it would have been smart of us to offer\n
  212. an explanation to Agustria earlier.|\n
  213. I apologize for putting you in a tough\n
  214. position, Eldigan.|
  215.
  216. \s[2]
  217. Think nothing of it. However, if you\n
  218. were to attack to the south like this,\n
  219. Evans castle would be left defenseless.|\n
  220. And that might pique the interests of\n
  221. those ambitious Agustrian nobles.|
  222.
  223. \s[6]
  224. I don't think I follow, what do you mean?|
  225. \s[-2]
  226.
  227. \event
  228. ## Music Shift
  229.
  230. \w[6]
  231. \s[2]\b[2|2]
  232. Sigh...\b[2|0] I'm ashamed to say this, but Verdane\n
  233. isn't the only country looking to take\n
  234. advantage of Grannvale's invasion of Isaach.|\n
  235. Anti-Grannvale forces are in the process of\n
  236. gathering given King Imuka's recent illness.|
  237.
  238. \s[5]
  239. The King is sick? Is it... serious?|
  240.
  241. \s[2]
  242. No, there's no cause for concern.\n
  243. As far as I've been told, he should\n
  244. recover in the coming weeks.|
  245.
  246. \s[6]
  247. Strange... It's almost as if it's a pattern.|
  248.
  249. \s[2]
  250. What do you mean, Quan?|
  251.
  252. \s[6]
  253. First, King Mananan allowed Ribaut to\n
  254. attack Dahna with their assault, starting\n
  255. the Isaachian-Grannvaleian war.|
  256. Then, King Batu allowed his sons to invade\n
  257. Yngvi, starting a Verdanite-Grannvaleian war.|\n
  258. And now, with the Agustrian king ill,\n
  259. we find out that the lords of Agustria\n
  260. have an entire anti-Grannvale faction.|\n
  261. Everyone wants to attack Grannvale...|
  262.
  263. \s[5]
  264. I never considered that, but you have a point...\n
  265. But, would the Agustrians really fight us?|
  266.
  267. \s[2]
  268. They're ready and willing to break treaties\n
  269. just because they want more land. I'm sure of it.|\e[2|2]\n
  270. Their ambitions infuriate me. They seem to forget\n
  271. that the people suffer when greedy men take up arms.|\n
  272. They reap all of the benefits and suffer none\n
  273. of the consequences. It's horrible, truly.|
  274.
  275. \s[5]\e[5|1]
  276. You haven't changed Eldigan. Ever since old times.|
  277.
  278. \s[2]\e[2|0]
  279. Ahem... Well, humans don't change that\n
  280. easily. You guys haven't changed either.|
  281.
  282. \s[6]\e[6|1]
  283. Neither has our vow of friendship.|
  284.
  285. \s[2]
  286. Then allow me to keep my end of the promise.\n
  287. You two, leave the defense of Evans to me.|\n
  288. I won't allow even a single Agustrian soldier\n
  289. to even get near the castle. You have my word.|
  290.
  291. \s[5]
  292. Eldigan... I'm sorry to involve you in our\n
  293. problems. After this battle is over, let\n
  294. us all drink together, just like old times.|
  295.
  296. \s[6]
  297. I'm in agreement. It's been far too long.|
  298.
  299. \s[2]
  300. Yes. Now, I will let you return to your\n
  301. preparations. I'll wait here until you depart.|
  302. \s[-2]
  303.
  304. ## Pleading for Peace
  305. \g[Chamber]
  306. \f[2|Jamke]\f[5|Batu]
  307. \s[5]
  308. You wished to speak with me, Jamke?|
  309.
  310. \s[2]
  311. Yes... Father, I don't think war with\n
  312. Grannvale is the right decision.|\n
  313. We have nothing to accomplish with it.|\n
  314. It's in our best interest to respond to\n
  315. the message they sent us and end this\n
  316. conflict before it spirals out of control.|
  317.
  318. \s[5]
  319. That wouldn't be wise though, Jamke. Munnir\n
  320. has already found himself a woman to marry,\n
  321. and Cimbaeth is hard enough to control.|\n
  322. Telling them both to pull back and return\n
  323. everything... That would make them furious.|
  324.
  325. \s[2]\e[2|2]
  326. Father, Munnir invaded Grannvale without\n
  327. our knowledge and kidnapped a woman!\n
  328. Surely, you don't approve of his actions?|
  329.
  330. \s[5]
  331. While I don't... The woman is unharmed I was\n
  332. told, and Munnir plans to treat her well.|\n
  333. Besides, lest you forget Grannvale cast the\n
  334. first stone. The assassin they sent for me.|
  335.
  336. \s[2]
  337. ... The one Sandima apprehended. I did not\n
  338. forget. I am still suspicious of him, Father.|
  339.
  340. \s[5]
  341. Why? He has been a benefit to us.|
  342.
  343. \s[2]
  344. ... I wish not to speak ill of a man unable\n
  345. to defend himself. But, I do not trust him.|
  346.
  347. \s[5]
  348. I see... Perhaps, when he returns, you two\n
  349. can come to some sort of agreement, then.|
  350.
  351. \s[2]\e[2|0]
  352. I doubt that... I will make my way to\n
  353. Marpha and speak to Munnir about the state\n
  354. of affairs there. I will take my leave.|
  355.
  356. \s[5]
  357. All right, Jamke. I apologize, I have been\n
  358. prioritizing the wants and needs of your\n
  359. brothers while neglecting your own.|\n
  360. It is for the good of us all, I believe it.|
  361.
  362. \s[2]
  363. ... I know you do, Father.|
  364. \s[-2]
  365.
  366. \f[2|nil]
  367. \w[16]
  368.
  369. \s[5]
  370. Peace is a difficult thing... Have I\n
  371. been too hasty with these decisions?|\n
  372. Breaking peace in order to secure it...|\n
  373. Perhaps Sandima will lend me his ear.|
  374. \s[-2]
  375.
  376. ## Prisoner's Dilemma
  377. \g[Dungeon]

  380. \f[5|Ayra]

  382. Heh, I brought the brat just like you asked.|
  383. \s[-2]
  384.
  385. \m[2|3]\w[4]
  386. \s[3]
  387. Ayra!|
  388.
  389. \s[5]
  390. Shannan! You're all right!|
  391.
  392. \s[3]
  393. That outfit... Are you heading into battle?|
  394.
  395. \s[1]
  396. Damn right she is. Grannvale's forces are\n
  397. approaching. I'm leading my forces out, so\n
  398. you guard a palace, right until the very end.|\n
  399. If you value the punk's life, then don't\n
  400. even think about fleeing--|
  401.
  402. \s[5]
  403. I get it, Cimbaeth! I'll follow your orders.|
  404.
  405. \s[3]\e[3|2]
  406. Don't listen to him Ayra! There's\n
  407. no reason to obey a bastard like him!\n
  408. I'll be just fine, don't worry--|
  409. \s[-2]
  410.
  411. \e[1|2]\m[1|2]\w[4]\e[3|0]\m[2|1]\m[3|2]\w[4]
  412. \s[1]
  413. What the hell did you just call me!?|

  415.
  416. \m[5|4]\e[4|2]
  417. \sound[Sword Unsheath]

  420.
  421. \s[1]\e[1|0]\m[1|1]
  422. H-hey, what do you think you're doing?|
  423.
  424. \s[4]
  425. Do you intend to break your promise?|\n
  426. I dare you to harm a hair on Shannan.|\n
  427. Go on, I can easily lop your head off\n
  428. right here and now without any trouble.|
  429. \s[-2]
  430.
  431. \m[1|1]\m[2|3]\w[4]
  432. \s[1]
  433. Alright, calm down! I got it, Ayra!|\n
  434. Geez... The face of an angel and\n
  435. the the wrath of a demon... Scary...|
  436.
  437. \s[4]
  438. Shut up. Spare me your flattery.|
  439.
  440. \s[1]
  441. I'd rather not make an enemy of you\n
  442. with your sword skills. Of course, that's\n
  443. to be expected of Isaach's...|
  444.
  445. \s[4]
  446. ... Enough. Let's go!|
  447. \s[-2]
  448.
  449. \r[3]
  450.
  451. \f[4|nil]
  452. \w[4]
  453. \s[3]
  454. Ayra! No! Don't do it! Don't go!\m[3|3] AYRA!!|
  455. \s[-2]
  456.
  457. \s[1]
  458. My ears! One of you, throw the\n
  459. kid in the dungeon already.|
  460. \s[-2]
  461.
  462. ## New Residents
  463. \g[Verdane Village]
  464. \f[2|Munnir]\f[5|Edain]\f[6|BrigandM-1]\fc[6|Verdane]\name[6|Brigand]
  465. \s[2]\e[2|1]
  466. Well, what do you think, eh?|
  467.
  468. \s[5]
  469. ... What do I think of what?|
  470.
  471. \s[2]\e[2|0]
  472. Your new home, of course; what else?\n
  473. Listen, I may been rough on the outside,\n
  474. but I don't plan on treating you wrong.|\n
  475. 'Sides, we have a pretty nice little town--|
  476.
  477. \s[5]
  478. I have no interest in becoming your wife,\n
  479. Prince Munnir.\e[5|2] I thought I made that\n
  480. clear with you when you kidnapped me.|
  481.
  482. \s[2]
  483. Yeah, but I already told ya, I'm not\n
  484. listening to any of Grannvale's demands.|
  485.
  486. \s[6]
  487. Better you get used to life in\n
  488. Verdane instead of tryin' to\n
  489. fight us every step of the way.|
  490.
  491. \s[2]\e[2|1]
  492. Besides, a Verdane-Grannvale wedding\n
  493. would be good for whatever peace treaty\n
  494. we had in place, right? Better yet, a kid.|
  495.
  496. \s[5]\e[5|3]
  497. ... Please just leave me alone.|
  498.
  499. \s[2]\e[2|2]
  500. Tch, I know I ain't no pretty boy like\n
  501. my brother, but you don't need to make\n
  502. a face like that. Fine, explore alone.|\n
  503. We got eyes on you, so don't try to run.|

  511. Sigh... Perhaps it wasn't in my\n
  512. best interest to make him upset...|\b[5|0]\e[5|2]\n
  513. But, it is so frustrating! Midir\n
  514. and the other soldiers sacrificed\n
  515. their lives, and I was taken anyway...|\e[5|3]\b[5|2]\n
  516. To make matters worse, I even got\n
  517. Sigurd involved when I asked for help\n

  531. Hmm? Is there something on my face?|
  532.
  533. \s[5]
  534. N-no! It's just... You are so beautiful...|
  535.
  536. \s[2]\m[2|2]
  537. Oh! Thank you, my Lady.|
  538.
  539. \s[5]
  540. Er... You are going to one of the\n

  542.
  543. \s[2]
  544. Uhm... I suppose that's fine. Why?|
  545.
  546. \s[5]
  547. You see I'm... new here. I was wondering\n

  549.
  550. \s[2]\e[2|1]
  551. Oh! Why certainly. How should\n
  552. I address you, my Lady?|
  553.
  554. \s[5]\e[5|1]
  555. Just Edain, I have no need for\n
  556. honorifics. What is your name?|
  557.
  558. \s[2]\e[2|0]
  559. My name? Well...|

  581. \s[5]
  582. Ayra can handle it on her own. But we\n

  596. Lord Sigurd, it looks like the\n
  597. soldiers from Genoa aren't waiting for\n
  598. us to approach. What are your orders?|
  599.
  600. \s[5]
  601. They're moving out already? How reckless.\n

  611.
  612. \s[5]
  613. They already rejected our request for\n
  614. Edain's safe return. I wish I understood\n
  615. what King Batu was thinking with this...|
  616.
  617. \s[2]
  618. That's right, he went and brokered a peace\n

  620. was that willing to break it so quickly?|
  621.
  622. \s[1]
  623. Who is to say... I will make my return to\n
  624. Nordion now. I trust you all will be fine?|

  626. \s[5]
  627. Indeed, we should be. Thank you, Eldigan.|

  913. \s[1]
  914. ... Are you one of Cimbaeth's allies?|
  915.
  916. \s[5]
  917. Absolutely not. We are the Grannvale\n

  920.
  921. \s[1]\m[1|1]
  922. Yes! Please, you need to help Ayra!\n

  927. \s[2]
  928. Ayra...? Is that the swordswoman we saw?|

  935.
  936. \s[2]

  939. a huge achievement, wouldn't it...?|
  940.
  941. \s[5]
  942. Hush, Oifey. None of that. I can barely\n

  944. For now, we'll so speak with Ayra, and you\n

  962. its prince, shouldn't we inform the king?|
  963.
  964. \s[5]
  965. No, he's just a child, Oifey. That war\n
  966. has nothing to do with him. I'll find\n
  967. a way to get him home safely on my own.|\n
  968. But for now, we need to look after him.|
  969.
  970. \s[2]
  971. I see... I apologize for my outburst earlier.|
  972.
  973. \s[5]\e[5|1]
  974. There's nothing to apologize for.|

  992.
  993. \s[5]\e[5|3]

  997.
  998. \s[1]\e[1|3]
  999. ... I don't care anymore... I-I'm Shannan...\n
1000. The first prince of Isaach... So kill me too!|
  1001.
  1002. \s[5]\m[5|5]
  1003. W-what? Isaach's prince?|
  1004.
  1005. \s[2]
  1006. It can't be...|
  1007.
  1008. \s[1]\e[1|2]
1009. Yes, so kill me! Just do it, don't waste time!|
  1010.
  1011. \s[5]
1012. I'm not going to do that. Oifey, please\n
1013. take care of Shannan until he calms down.|\n
  1014. He's been through so much hardship.|
  1015.
  1016. \s[1]\e[1|3]

  1019.

  1021.
  1022. \s[2]
1023. Pardon me, sire... But we are currently at\n

1025. its prince, shouldn't we inform the king?|
  1026.
  1027. \s[5]
  1028. No, he's just a child, Oifey. That war\n
1029. has nothing to do with him. I'll find\n
1030. a way to get him home safely on my own.|\n
1031. But for now, we need to look after him.\n
1032. He just lost an important member of his\n

  1034.
  1035. \s[2]
  1036. I see... I apologize for my outburst earlier.|
  1037.
  1038. \s[5]

  1063. Curses! Grannvale's army must have\n

  1087. \s[5]
1088. Lady Ayra, I am Sigurd, a holy knight of\n
1089. Grannvale. Shannan told me his situation,\n
1090. and of your identity as princess of Isaach.|\n
1091. You are the late king's daughter, correct?|
  1092.
  1093. \s[2]
  1094. ... I am. And while I thank you\n
  1095. for rescuing Shannan, I...|
  1096.
  1097. \s[5]
1098. ... You hate those of us from Grannvale.\n
1099. I understand your position, but we have\n

1101. I want you to know you can trust us.\n
1102. Behalla will not know you two are here.|
  1103.
  1104. \s[2]
1105. My brother, Prince Mallicur, entrusted\n
1106. Shannan to my care knowing that his

  1108.
  1109. \s[1]
  1110. ... ... ...|
  1111.
  1112. \s[2]
1113. Lord Sigurd, you said you won't inform\n

1115. Until I've seen Shannan rise to the throne\n
1116. of Isaach, my life is not mine to forfeit.|\n
1117. Are you willing to help me achieve this?|
  1118.
  1119. \s[5]
1120. Indeed, I will aid you all I can. On my\n

1122. I swear Shannan will remain safe and hidden.|
  1123.
  1124. \s[2]

1142. If one day, we are on opposing sides in\n
  1143. battle... I won't hesitate to cut you down.|
  1144.
  1145. \s[5]

  1192. \s[5]
1193. Well enough. Given we have Edain back\n

1196. Send a letter to Marpha, so we can try\n

  1272. \s[2]
  1273. This can't be right... Prince Jamke\n

  1276.
  1277. \s[5]
1278. I doubt this has anything to do with\n
1279. Prince Jamke or King Batu. Munnir\n
1280. probably won't let his pride be hurt.|\n
1281. Why can't he realize that doing this\n

  1367.
  1368. \s[5]
  1369. ... Up until just a little wile ago,\n

  1374. \s[2]\e[2|1]

  1389. And you're so sure of this?|

  1425. \s[2]
1426. Just Ayra, no need for honorifics.\n
  1427. I just wanted to apologize for\n
  1428. earlier. I er... Overwhelmed you.|
  1429.
  1430. \s[5]\e[5|1]
1431. Oh, that? Hah! No worries, my armor\n

1434. I'd hate to ever fight you again.|
  1435.
  1436. \s[2]

1447. You truly believe in him, don't you?|
  1448.
  1449. \s[5]
  1450. Of course. He's like the reincarnation\n
1451. of the legendary Paladin Baldr himself!|\n
  1452. True and noble.|

  1467. \s[2]

  1540. \s[2]
  1541. You're nothing but a coward, you know.\n
1542. No knight worth their honor would do\n
1543. such a thing. Withdraw your knights. Now.|\n
1544. Otherwise, I will take action. We both\n
  1545. know you're no match for me. I suggest--|
  1546.
  1547. \s[5]
1548. Oh, shut up! I should have known you\n
1549. would side with Grannvale over your\n
1550. own country! Always getting in my way!|
  1551.
  1552. \s[2]
1553. You do realize that by doing this, you not only\n
1554. cross Grannvale, nor me, but your very liege.|\n
1555. We bow to the reverent King Imuka, who desires\n
1556. only peace with Grannvale. Would you truly\n
1557. betray His Majesty? Threaten all of our lives?|
  1558.
  1559. \s[5]
1560. You fool! You're the only one who takes\n
1561. that old fool seriously anymore! Everyone\n
1562. else is united against Grannvale!|
  1563.
  1564. \s[2]
1565. Is that so. Fine, Elliot, you will have\n
1566. to learn this lesson the hard way.|
  1567.
  1568. \s[5]
1569. S-so be it, then! Heirhein! Our target is\n
  1570. now House Nordion! I want Eldigan's head!|
  1571.
  1572. \s[2]\e[2|1]
  1573. You're going to regret that.|
  1574. \s[-2]
  1575.
  1576. ## vs Elliot
  1577. \f[1|Elliot]
  1578. \s[1]
  1579. You won't stop us! I won't allow it!|
  1580. \s[-2]
  1581.
  1582. ## Eldigan vs Elliot
  1583. \f[1|Elliot]\f[6|Eldigan]
  1584. \s[1]
1585. Agustria cannot afford the crippling\n
1586. tolls of war, and nor can Grannvale.\n
1587. Our past stands as a testament to this.|\n
1588. Learn well, Elliot: we, the nobility,\n
1589. know not the suffering brought by war.|\n
1590. War cripples only the powerless, our\n
1591. subjects. I will not abide your lust\n
1592. for glory at the expense of our people!|
  1593.
  1594. \s[6]
1595. A pretty little speech, but that won't\n
1596. stop me. I knew all along: you and I\n
1597. were always fated to clash, Eldigan!|
  1598.
  1599. \s[1]
  1600. Were we now?|
  1601.
  1602. \s[6]
1603. Yes! And once you're gone... She will\n
1604. finally see me for the man I am!|
  1605.
  1606. \s[1]
  1607. I'll try not to kill you.|
  1608. \s[-2]
  1609.
  1610. ## Elliot defeated
  1611. \f[1|Elliot]
  1612. \s[1]
  1613. N-no! Unhand me! Men, retreat!|
  1614. \s[-2]
  1615.
  1616. ## Battle End
  1617. \g[Plains]
  1618. \f[2|Eldigan]
  1619. \s[2]
1620. He's gone and fled, has he? Leave him, I'll\n
1621. give him a proper tongue lashing later.|\n
  1622. We're done here, Cross Knights. Withdraw!|
  1623. \s[-2]
  1624.
  1625. ## Approaching Marpha
  1626. \g[Fortress]
  1627. \f[2|Munnir]\e[2|2]\m[2|3]\w[4]
  1628. \s[3]
1629. What the hell's goin' on out there!\n
  1630. This damn fog! I can't see a thing...|\n
1631. Those of you ready for battle, move out!\n
  1632. Don't let them near the castle!!|
  1633. \s[-2]
  1634.
  1635. ## Edain event
  1636. \g[Fortress]
  1637. \f[2|Edain]\s[2]
1638. Cease this fighting, right now!|
  1639. \s[-2]
  1640.
  1641. \f[6|Munnir]
  1642. \s[6]
  1643. Eh? Who said that--|
  1644. \s[-2]
  1645.
  1646. \m[6|5]\w[4]
  1647. \s[5]\e[5|2]
  1648. It's you... Edain! What the hell,\n
1649. you came back just to tell me to\n
1650. stand down?! Not a chance in hell!|
  1651.
  1652. \s[2]
1653. Prince Munnir, there is no point in\n
1654. continuing this fight! Your men will\n
1655. die... You will die. Please, just stop.|
  1656.
  1657. \s[5]
  1658. There's something wrong with your head.\n
1659. I said I'm fighting to the end, and I\n
1660. meant it! You've insulted me enough already!|
  1661.
  1662. \s[2]
1663. So, it was pride after all... Fine, then\n
1664. if you wish to fight, fight me as well.|
  1665.
  1666. \s[5]\m[5|5]
  1667. What?!|
  1668.
  1669. \s[2]\e[2|2]
1670. This is a war, isn't it? Why are you\n
1671. hesitating to strike me down as well?|\n
1672. You were fine with sending your men\n
1673. to kill Dew and I just earlier tonight.|
  1674.
  1675. \s[5]
  1676. ... ... ...|
  1677.
  1678. \s[2]\e[2|3]
1679. Just... Stand down, Prince Munnir.|\n
1680. Lord Sigurd is a good man. If you\n
1681. lay down your arms, no harm will\n
1682. come to you and your men. I swear it.|
  1683. \s[-2]
  1684.
  1685. \f[2|nil]
  1686.
  1687. \w[16]
  1688.
  1689. \s[5]\b[5|2]
1690. Damn it... Is she right? Am I\n
  1691. just wasting everyone's time...?|
  1692. \s[-2]
  1693.
  1694. ## Talk Sigurd Edain
  1695. \f[2|Edain]\f[6|Sigurd]\m[6|5]\w[4]
  1696. \s[5]
1697. Edain! There you are! I saw you\n
1698. close to the front lines and feared\n
1699. the worst. What were you thinking?|
  1700.
  1701. \s[2]
1702. Sigurd, can you find it in you to\n
  1703. spare Prince Munnir's life?|
  1704.
  1705. \s[5]
1706. What...? You want me to have\n
1707. mercy on the man who kidnapped you?|
  1708.
  1709. \s[2]
1710. It is not up to you or I how he\n
1711. receives punishment for his actions.\n
1712. But, I wish to save as many as I can\n
1713. from the death and destruction this\n
  1714. fruitless war has created.|
  1715.
  1716. \s[5]
  1717. ... I will see to it then.|
  1718. \s[-2]
  1719.
  1720. ## Vs Munnir
  1721. ## Without Edain event
  1722. \f[1|Munnir]\e[1|2]
  1723. \s[1]
1724. Oh, come on! First me own brother\n
1725. lets me wife go, and now this?!|\n
  1726. Damn me rotten luck!|
  1727. \s[-2]
  1728.
  1729. ## With Edain Event
  1730. \f[1|Munnir]
  1731. \s[1]
1732. What the hell am I even doin' anymore...\n
1733. Bah, it doesn't matter. You there! You\n
  1734. ain't worth my time. Where's your leader?|\n
1735. You tell the one they call Sigurd that\n
1736. I challenge him to a battle! If you can\n
1737. survive a hit from me, that is.|
  1738. \s[-2]
  1739.
  1740. ## Sigurd vs Munnir
  1741. ## Without Edain event
  1742. \f[1|Munnir]\f[6|Sigurd]\e[6|2]
  1743. \s[6]
1744. Prince Munnir, I warned you that I\n
1745. would not spare you my wrath. Are\n
1746. you prepared to meet your maker?|
  1747.
  1748. \s[1]
1749. Pah, empty words from an empty knight!\n
1750. Enough talk, draw that fancy blade of\n
1751. yours and let's get to the good part!|
  1752. \s[-2]
  1753.
  1754. ## Sigurd vs Munnir
  1755. ## With Edain event
  1756. \f[1|Munnir]\f[6|Sigurd]
  1757. \s[1]
1758. So it's you, the one they call Sigurd.\e[1|1]\n
1759. With just one blow on the commander, I\n
1760. can turn the tides of battle.|
  1761.
  1762. \s[6]
1763. You think you can defeat me with one\n
1764. decisive blow? You've got to be kidding.|\n
1765. You have yet to earn that right, Munnir.|
  1766.
  1767. \s[1]\e[1|0]
1768. Tch... Says you. Come on, let's do this!|
  1769.
  1770. \s[6]
  1771. As you wish.|
  1772. \s[-2]
  1773.
  1774. ## Midir vs Munnir
  1775. \f[1|Munnir]\f[6|Midir]\e[6|2]
  1776. \s[1]
  1777. What? You're that arch knight from\n
  1778. before!? Are you serious!? I can't\n
  1779. believe you're still alive!|
  1780.
  1781. \s[6]
  1782. Prepare yourself, Munnir! I'll\n
1783. never forgive someone like you!!|
  1784. \s[-2]
  1785.
  1786. ## Azelle vs Munnir
  1787. \f[1|Munnir]\f[6|Azelle]
  1788. \s[1]
  1789. Who're you? Ya got a lot of nerve\n
1790. to attack me, ya little brat!|
  1791.
  1792. \s[6]
  1793. So, you're Munnir... How
  1794. dare you kidnap Edain!|
  1795. \s[-2]
  1796.
  1797. ## Munnir Dead
  1798. \f[1|Munnir]\e[1|2]\b[1|1]

1807. hell are you... so strong?|
  1808.
  1809. \s[6]
1810. Yield. This battle is over.|
  1811.
  1812. \s[1]
  1813. ... If I do, you'll let my men live?|
  1814.
  1815. \s[6]
  1816. On my honor as a knight.|
  1817.
  1818. \s[1]
  1819. F-fine... I give. You win, Sigurd.|

  1860. Yeah... I guess that'll be\n
  1861. the end of that.|
  1862.
  1863. \s[2]
1864. So, what do you plan to do next?|
  1865.
  1866. \s[5]
1867. I'm not sure. I guess all we can do now\n
1868. is to entrust our hopes for peace in\n
1869. Prince Jamke back at the Verdane capital.|\n
1870. Until we receive word on his peace proposal,\n
1871. I would like to travel to the castle town.|
  1872.
  1873. \s[2]
1874. Probably a good idea, to try and quell\n
1875. the fears of the civilians. They likely\n
1876. see us as invaders to their country.|
  1877.
  1878. \s[5]
  1879. I wonder if they'll accept what we've done\n
1880. here... Come, Quan. We should retire for\n
  1881. the evening. It's late, we've fought hard.|

  1945. \s[2]
1946. Those two tyrannical princes, you defeated\n
1947. them for us. Of course we have gratitude!|
  1948.
  1949. \s[1]
1950. This countries first two princes treated\n
1951. their own territories as they pleased.|\n
1952. Granted, they did crack down on certain\n
1953. crimes, but most they would turn a blind\n

  1955.
  1956. \s[2]
1957. As hard as it is to believe, Prince Jamke has\n

  1959. different person and a good man.|
  1960.
  1961. \s[5]\e[5|1]
1962. So I see everyone here deeply trusts\n

  2569. How's that new hobby of prowling\n

  2571.
  2572. \s[1]\m[1|1]\e[1|2]
  2573. Heeeeeeey!! You're really getting\n
  2574. on my nerves, Eldigan! Isn't it\n

  2601. \s[2]
2602. Father, this is absurd! Why do you\n
2603. still refuse to listen to me?|\n
2604. My brothers already have fallen, and\n
  2605. it's only a matter of time before they\n
2606. come for the capital as well.|\n
2607. I have heard that Lord Sigurd of\n
2608. Grannvale is an understanding person.|\n
2609. If you make a proposal for peace, he\n
2610. will surely give you an answer.|
  2611.
  2612. \s[5]
2613. But you know, Jamke, I've heard that\n
2614. Grannvale had planned to assault us\n
  2615. from the very beginning.|\n
  2616. That's why I allowed Munnir's raid\n
2617. in the first place. And, in the end,\n
2618. did they not end up invading us?|
  2619.
  2620. \s[2]
2621. This is garbage that the sorcerer Sandima\n
2622. fed into your ears, isn't it? You, Cimbaeth,\n
2623. Munnir, you all trusted him too readily!|\n
  2624. You're all being decieved by him!|
  2625. \s[-2]

2639. My my, Lord Jamke, that was quite\n
2640. a mean thing you said about me.|\n
  2641. I'm the one deceiving your father?\n
2642. What about you? Ever since you came\n
2643. back, you have been going on and on.|\n
2644. The conversations among the soldiers\n
2645. are starting to label you as a traitor...|
  2646.
  2647. \s[4]\m[4|4]
2648. What?! That is absolutely not true!|
  2649.
  2650. \s[2]\e[2|1]
2651. Oh, I would never believe such a\n
2652. thing myself! But, the others...|\n
2653. The only way they may be convinced\n
2654. is if you were to lead your men into\n
2655. the fray. Dawdling here would only--|
  2656.
  2657. \s[4]
  2658. Damn you, Sandima!|
  2659.
  2660. \s[5]
  2661. Jamke, please...|
  2662.
  2663. \s[2]
  2664. Going somewhere, Prince Jamke?|
  2665.
  2666. \s[4]
  2667. ... As you desire, I'm heading off\n
2668. to the battlefield. However, when I\n

2688. What do you think about considering\n
  2689. that possibility for a bit...?|

2702. be quite troublesome, King Batu.|\e[2|1]\n
2703. Ahh, you poor thing... I understand how\n
2704. you must feel. Just now, you ended up\n
2705. provoking the wrath of the keepers of hell!|

  2707. \s[5]

  2748. \s[2]
2749. But, is it really all right for\n
2750. you to have killed the king, Sandima?|\n
2751. Will the soldiers listen to you?|
  2752.
  2753. \s[4]
2754. Fufu... You need not concern yourself.\n
2755. I can just tell them the king has fallen\n
  2756. ill. Then I can do as I please.|\n
2757. Prince Jamke already has left to fight\n
2758. that knight Sigurd, he is out of the way.|
  2759.
  2760. \s[2]\e[2|2]
2761. Sigurd... It's all because of that brat\n
2762. who carries the blood of Baldr that our\n
2763. plans have been significantly delayed.|\n
2764. If he wasn't around, we would have half\n
2765. of Grannvale under our control by now...|
  2766.
  2767. \s[4]
2768. Indeed... But, he will be dealt with.|
  2769.
  2770. \s[2]\e[2|0]
2771. By the way, Sandima. What of the\n
2772. search for the Loptyrian scion?\n
  2773. Have you found Cigyun's daughter?|
  2774.
  2775. \s[4]\e[4|0]
  2776. ... About that... I have yet to--|
  2777.
  2778. \s[2]\e[2|2]
2779. Imbecile! Hurry and find her already!\n
2780. There is no doubt she is in Verdane!|\b[2|2]\n
2781. After all of the pains I have gone to,|\b[2|0]\n
2782. to locate the boy... The son of Cigyun\n
2783. is still in Belhalla, but he's worthless\n
2784. without the female. Listen well!|\n
2785. Cigyun was an heir of Prince Maera, brother\n
2786. of an emperor of the old Loptous Empire.|\n
2787. Cigyun alone in this era inherited the sacred\n
2788. blood of the Dark God. That woman broke the\n
2789. sole commandment given to her by her ancestor:|\e[2|1]\n
2790. She bore two children as opposed to only one.\n
2791. Sandima, do you know what this all means?|
  2792.
  2793. \s[4]\e[4|1]
2794. Yes, Lord Manfroy. If her children were\n
2795. to conceive a child together, the Dark\n
2796. God would descend into that very child.|
  2797.
  2798. \s[2]
2799. That's right! We must hurry and resurrect\n
2800. the Dark God Loptous and take back the\n
2801. glory of the Loptous empire!|\n
2802. Let us show the people the humiliation\n
2803. we have endured underground each day\n
2804. for the past one hundred year in hiding!|\n
2805. Let the darkness that they fear so much\n
  2806. overtake their whole existence!|\n
2807. For that very darkness is our light.|
  2808.
  2809. \s[4]
  2810. Understood, Your Eminence. If I must\n
2811. surrender my life to ensure that the\n
2812. plan is realized, I will do it gladly!|

  2826. \s[-2]
  2827.
  2828. \f[1|Edain]\m[1|2]\w[4]
  2829. \s[2]

2832. explain why the war is continuing.|
  2833.
  2834. \s[5]
2835. It's far too dangerous for you to\n

2837. return to the rear, let us handle this.|
  2838.
  2839. \s[2]\e[2|2]
  2840. Sigurd, I already told you, I am\n
2841. going to see this through to the end.|
  2842.
  2843. \s[5]
  2844. Ah... Right, I apologize. That was\n

  2923. \s[2]
2924. Milord, listen. The dark priest Sandima\n
2925. guards Castle Verdane with his wicked\n
2926. magic. You must go no further. Turn back.|\e[2|3]\n
2927. You would surely be killed.\n
  2928. Please, you mustn't continue...|
  2929.
  2930. \s[5]
  2931. But I mustn't place my men in even\n

  3051. What... How?\e[2|3] Why are you here?|
  3052.
  3053. \s[5]\e[5|2]
3054. You said you would persuade your father,\n
3055. yet instead you've taken to the field\n
3056. yourself. What is the matter with you?|
  3057.
  3058. \s[2]
  3059. I... I failed. My father has been fooled\n
3060. by the words of an evil sorcerer...|\n
3061. Nothing I say can sway him at all.\n
3062. Everyone! Cimbaeth, Munnir, they all\n

  3064.
  3065. \s[5]\e[5|3]
3066. This is why I ask... Why have you taken\n
3067. to the field? Please, Jamke. Join us.|\n
3068. Let's go reason with the king, one more\n
3069. time. We can put an end to this war!|
  3070.
  3071. \s[2]
3072. Why... Why go this far for me?|
  3073.
  3074. \s[5]
  3075. What?|
  3076.
  3077. \s[2]
3078. You should condemn me for my actions.\n
3079. How can you forgive a wretch like me?|
  3080.
  3081. \s[5]\e[5|1]
  3082. I know you are a good man. I believe in you.|\n
3083. Lord Sigurd has no interest in invading\n

3085. We can stop the fighting this instant.|
  3086.
  3087. \s[2]
3088. Fine... If you're willing to go so far,\n

3090. But it must be understood that I won't\n
3091. let anyone lay a finger on my father.|
  3092.
  3093. \s[5]
3094. Yes, I will promise you that. Thank you,\n

  3401.
  3402. \s[5]
3403. Say, Edain... As I recall, you declined\n

  3405. joined the clergy. Am I right?|
  3406.
  3407. \s[2]
  3408. Yes, that's correct.|
  3409.
  3410. \s[5]\e[5|1]
  3411. I shouldn't be surprised, knowing how\n

3413. I'd do well to learn from your example!|
  3414.
  3415. \s[2]
3416. Thank you, Lord Sigurd, but that isn't\n

  3420. What do you mean?|

  3422. \s[2]
  3423. Initially, I sought priesthood in\n

3425. Even now, I still believe this is\n
  3426. the answer I seek. That I'll find her.|\b[2|0]\n
  3427. A bit silly, don't you think? I just\n

3429. to let time heal this wound I have.|
  3430.
  3431. \s[5]
  3432. No, I don't think it's silly. You're\n
  3433. talking about Brigid, right? I'd heard\n
3434. that she went missing as a child.|\n
3435. So all this time, Edain, you've been\n

  3437.
  3438. \s[2]
  3439. Yes. I know we'll meet someday.\n
  3440. No matter what happens, I must!|

3498. Do you intend to leave this forest?|

3539. before you consume and split you apart.|
  3540.
  3541. \s[1]\e[1|1]
  3542. ... ... ...|
  3543.
  3544. \s[2]
3545. I will never let go of her... No\n
3546. matter what happens, I WILL protect her.|
  3547.
  3548. \s[6]
3549. Very well. I will see you off until\n
3550. we get to the edge of the forest.|
  3551. \s[-2]

  3555.
  3556. \s[6]\e[6|0]
3557. ... Can you see it, Cigyun? The\n
  3558. happiness on your daughter's face?\n
3559. The destiny that is imposed on her...|\n
3560. The punishment that she is to receive\n
3561. for your sin of breaking Maera's rule...|\n
3562. That girl will not accept that punishment.\n
3563. Please, watch over her for me from heaven.|
  3564. \s[-2]
  3565.
  3566. ## A support gained! Wahoo!!!! Let's get married!!!
  3567.
  3568. ## One final chance
3569. ## Unlocked by sparing Munnir
  3570. \g[Chamber]
  3571. \f[5|Jamke]
  3572. \s[5]
3573. ... This throne room is so empty.\n
  3574. Father, Cimbaeth, Munnir... All\n
3575. of you are gone now. It's just me.|\e[5|3]\n
3576. Why? Why was I spared and everyone\n
3577. else had to fall? I never wanted any\n
  3578. of this... I just wanted peace...|\b[5|2]\n
3579. And now I am alone... with my peace.|
  3580. \s[-2]
  3581.
  3582. \f[1|Edain]
  3583. \s[1]
  3584. Prince Jamke...?|
  3585.
  3586. \s[5]\b[5|0]\e[5|0]
  3587. Ah... Edain. S-sorry you had\n
3588. to see me like that. I'm fine.|
  3589.
  3590. \s[1]
  3591. I don't believe that for a moment.|
  3592.
  3593. \s[5]
  3594. Hah... It's hard being alone.\n
3595. Now I am to rule Verdane in my\n
  3596. father's stead. I have no idea\n
3597. how I'm going to do all of this.|
  3598.
  3599. \s[1]
  3600. About that... Prince Jamke,\n
3601. there is something you should\n
  3602. know: You aren't alone.|
  3603.
  3604. \s[5]\e[5|1]
3605. Yes, yes, I know; you and Lord Sigurd\n
3606. are here to help support me and the\n
  3607. people of Verdane. I understand that.|
  3608.
  3609. \s[1]
  3610. That isn't what I mean...\n
  3611. Prince Munnir is alive.|
  3612. \s[-2]
  3613.
  3614. \event
  3615.
  3616. \m[5|4]\w[4
  3617. \s[4]
  3618. What?! How...?|
  3619.
  3620. \s[1]
  3621. I... I convinced Sigurd to spare him.|
  3622.
  3623. \s[4]
3624. What? WHAT!? Why would you show mercy\n
3625. to a man who kidnapped you and started\n
3626. a war just to keep you to himself?!|
  3627.
  3628. \s[1]
  3629. I'm not so sure myself... Jamke,\n
3630. do you believe your brother to be...\n
3631. an evil man? Truly reprehensible?|
  3632.
  3633. \s[4]
  3634. I... No, I think deep down, Munnir\n
3635. was good. But he changed... He looked\n
3636. at Grannvale with such fury and envy.|\n
  3637. It doesn't matter though! He wronged\n
  3638. you, and he doesn't deserve forgiveness!|
  3639.
  3640. \s[1]
3641. How can you be the one to determine that?\n
3642. Everyone in the world deserves forgiveness.|
  3643.
  3644. \s[4]
3645. You are truly too good of a woman, Edain.|
  3646.
  3647. \s[1]
  3648. ... Perhaps also, I did that for you.|
  3649.
  3650. \s[4]
  3651. What?|
  3652.
  3653. \s[1]
3654. You middle brother, Cimbaeth, I could do\n
3655. nothing about, but leaving you with at\n
3656. least one of your brothers alive...|\n
3657. I just thought it might help you.|\n
  3658. And now, with your father's passing,\n
3659. he's the last member you have left.|
  3660.
  3661. \s[4]
  3662. ... ... ...|
  3663.
  3664. \s[1]
3665. You should seek him out, Jamke. Speak\n
3666. with your brother. After all, you are\n
3667. still family at the end of the day.|\n
3668. Anyway, I will be retiring for the night.\n
3669. Good night, Jamke. Rest well.|
  3670. \s[-2]
  3671.
  3672. \f[1|nil]
  3673.

  3676. \s[4]
  3677. For my sake, huh...|

  3680. ## Villages
  3681. ## Village 1
  3682. \g[Village]
  3683. \f[2|Villager_Woman]
  3684. \f[6|Visitor]\m[6|5]\[w[4]
  3685. \s[2]
3686. This village is part of the holdings\n
3687. of Prince Cimbaeth, lord of Genoa.\n
  3688. He's as dreadful as they come!|\n
3689. arely a month goes by without him\n
3690. settin' his army on us. It's terrifyin'!|\n
3691. King Batu, his father, used to do such a\n
3692. fine job of keepin' him in check. I can\n
  3693. hardly imagine what's goin' on...|\n
3694. Anyway, glad you stopped by! Here, one of\n
  3695. Cimbaeth's lackeys left this behind\n
3696. during their last run through of town.|\n
3697. Might prove useful if you end up fighting\n
3698. through the night... The fog gets dense\n
3699. with Lake Verdane right there... Good luck.|
  3700. \s[-2]
  3701.
  3702. ## Village 2
  3703. \g[Village]
  3704. \f[2|Villager_Woman]
  3705. \f[6|Visitor]\m[6|5]\[w[4]
  3706. \s[2]
3707. King Batu is as gentle as they come.|\n
3708. Normally, at least, leading a war like\n
3709. this is the last thing he'd ever do.|\n
3710. Mark my words: this is all the doing\n
3711. of Sandima, his sorcerous advisor.|\n
3712. I can just feel it. He claimed he\n
  3713. captured a Grannvalian assassin...\n
3714. But refused to let anyone see them!|\n
  3715. Making out a living here's grown\n
3716. tougher and tougher since the day\n
  3717. that man arrived; he's a plague.|\n
3718. Save for the youngest son, Jamke, both\n
3719. king and country are at his very whim.|\n
3720. Please, I beg you... Save our country!\n
3721. Bring back the Verdane that once was!|
  3722. \s[-2]
  3723.
  3724. ## Village 3
  3725. \g[Village]
  3726. \f[5|Villager_Old Man]
  3727. \f[1|Visitor]\m[1|2]\[w[4]
  3728. \s[5]
3729. Just t'the north a here is this mighty woodland.|\n
3730. S'called the Spirit Forest. Once upon a time, I\n
3731. lived there too, in this li'l hamlet deep within.|\n
3732. Th' village is home to the last kin o' the dark\n
3733. one of old, Loptous. That mighty dark empire...|\n
3734. They say it all started with Saint Maera,\n
3735. exiled by the empire for darin' to sympathize\n
3736. with mortal men. A true hero, if you ask me.|\n
3737. In my day, there was this gorgeous girl livin'\n
3738. there called Cigyun, the last heir o' Loptous'\n
3739. bloodline, she was. Silver hair, amethyst eyes.|\n
3740. She lived 'er life under close guard,\n
3741. the villagers wary o' lettin' the blood\n
  3742. o' Loptous loose into th' world.|\n
3743. Alas, Cigyun grew weary o' the tedious\n
3744. forest life an' she left it all behind,\n
  3745. breaking Maera's ancient commandments.|\n
  3746. A couple o' years later, she came back,\n
3747. 'cept now she was pregnant. Never said\n
3748. who the father was, you know.|\n
3749. Before long Cigyun died, even as she gave birth\n
3750. t' her daughter. From what I 'eard, the hamlet's\n
3751. prophet took 'er in and raised the girl as 'er own.|\n
3752. If the little girl's still alive, she'd\n
3753. 'ave to be 'bout seventeen or eighteen by now...|
