- SRF IT – ProjectWise N: Drive User Identifier Change – Sunday 03/01
- Who should read this: All SRF employees using ProjectWise
- What it's regarding: This Sunday 03/01, we are changing the node identifier that tells ProjectWise who owns files on the N: drive from %ComputerName% to %UserName%
- What you need to know: By changing this node identifier, the temporary files downloaded by ProjectWise will be marked as owned by username rather than computer. Since these files will be in the N: drive, regardless of VDI session, this will enable users to control their files even if their VDI session changes.
- This eliminates some of the slowdowns and issues users were experiencing when using ProjectWise in VDI.
- The two main things to keep in mind with this setting change are:
- • This change will be done on Sunday, and ProjectWise will consider uses afterwards to be a new node – similarly to when a user changes VDI sessions. This should be the last major time this happens.
- • Files need to be checked in when this change happens, or users will need to submit a ticket if they end up locked out of files.
- What you need to do: Please make sure to checked in files before Sunday.
- Please submit a ticket to IT if locked out of a file.
