The end of Heles

She stared out into the fire light. The embers float too and fro, about the gentle breeze. Heles. Shalem. Maere. Anthuria. The names that she bore throughout her journeys many days bounced around her head as she stared forward. There was no noise. No future.
Her end was coming, and she knew that it was soon. By claws and ice. Tails and teeth.
She stared out into the fire light. Her mind was clear and silent for the first time ever. She looked to her sleeping comrades. A faint smile crossed her face.
She speaks, to one in particular, “Thank you. All of you. I’m sorry for leaving you.”
