  1. [16:44] <Eloise> !roll 1d20+3
  2. [16:44] <Tyche[Dice]> Eloise rolled : 1d20+3 --> [ 1d20=12 ]{15}
  3. [16:45] <Eloise> Eloise decides to sharpen her hearing and stay alert.
  4. [16:45] <Mathmatt878> If you're staying to hear what they're saying, roll stealth with disadvantage.
  5. [16:45] <Eloise> !roll 2#1d20+4
  6. [16:45] <Tyche[Dice]> Eloise rolled : 2#1d20+4 --> [ 1d20=20 ]{24}, [ 1d20=18 ]{22}
  7. [16:45] <Mathmatt878> Still pretty friggin good
  8. [16:45] <Eloise> naisu
  9. [16:46] <Mathmatt878> The hallway is filled with the whispers of the voices.
  10. [16:46] <Mathmatt878> "What do you think we should do? She's going to find out eventually, you know she will."
  11. [16:47] <Mathmatt878> The voice is kind and soft, clearly the voice of a woman. The voice that responds is masculine, deeper.
  12. [16:48] <Mathmatt878> "She doesn't need to worry herself with the project for now, it will be years before she even sets foot in here."
  13. [16:48] <Mathmatt878> The female voice responds again.
  14. [16:48] <Mathmatt878> "But, she will eventually. How will we explain this? Will she forgive us?"
  15. [16:49] <Mathmatt878> Male: "That is her choice to make, we can't force her to agree with our choices, we can only hope she succeeds."
  16. [16:50] <Mathmatt878> Female: "But, you've seen how some people react. Some people were furious with what we've done. They don't understand what we're trying to do. What if she's the same way?"
  17. [16:51] <Mathmatt878> Male: "Then she will grow to hate us. There's nothing we can do to prevent that."
  18. [16:51] <Mathmatt878> There is a pause in the discussion.
  19. [16:52] <Mathmatt878> If you'd like, you may roll perception to figure out who the voices are.
  20. [16:52] <Eloise> !roll 1d20+3
  21. [16:52] <Tyche[Dice]> Eloise rolled : 1d20+3 --> [ 1d20=4 ]{7}
  22. [16:53] <Mathmatt878> You can't figure it out. They are complete strangers.
  23. [16:53] <Mathmatt878> Female: "Is it at least finished?"
  24. [16:54] <Mathmatt878> Male: "You and I both know the answer."
  25. [16:54] <Mathmatt878> The two are silent again.
  26. [16:57] <Mathmatt878> Suddenly, a third voice is heard, this voice sounds... Young. Not a child's voice, but not an adult, perhaps an older teenager.
  27. [16:57] <Mathmatt878> ???: "Sir, Ma'am, we have a problem."
  28. [16:57] <Mathmatt878> Male: "Is it starting?"
  29. [16:57] <Mathmatt878> ???: "No, we appear to have started a water leak."
  30. [16:58] <Mathmatt878> Female: "Oh dear. What do we do?"
  31. [16:58] <Mathmatt878> The male mutters something that you can't quite hear, then continues.
  32. [16:59] <Mathmatt878> Male: "Do your best to find somewhere safe, we can't just leave this place abandoned. You, child, gather the others and do your best to seal off the project."
  33. [16:59] <Mathmatt878> ???: "Yes sir."
  34. [16:59] <Mathmatt878> Footsteps start sounding heading towards the direction of your hallway.
  35. [17:02] <Eloise> Eloise stays where she is, making no effort to hide.
  36. [17:03] <Mathmatt878> The footsteps approach faster, and you find yourself face to face with a young boy whom you don't recognize.
  37. [17:04] <Mathmatt878> "Oh gosh."
  38. [17:04] <Mathmatt878> "Who are you?"
  39. [17:04] <Mathmatt878> "What are you doing down here?"
  40. [17:05] * Eloise walks over to the boy and shakes his hand with a genial attitude. She smiles. "i'm eloise! eloise hawkes! i'm on a mission to save my timeline. and you are?"
  41. [17:05] <Mathmatt878> "Uh..."
  42. [17:05] <Mathmatt878> "Eloise?"
  43. [17:05] <Mathmatt878> "That's, uh..."
  44. [17:05] <Mathmatt878> "I'll be back."
  45. [17:05] * Eloise waves
  46. [17:05] <Mathmatt878> The boy quickly turns to run away.
  47. [17:06] <Mathmatt878> "Sir! Ma'am! This is important! Your daughter is here!"
  48. [17:06] <Mathmatt878> There is no response.
  49. [17:07] <Mathmatt878> The floor of the hallway begins to fill with water, originating from elsewhere in the dungeon.
  50. [17:08] <Eloise> Eloise's smile fades a bit as she picks up her feet. "ah fuck," she sighs as she walks down towards the boy. "not this again."
  51. [17:10] <Mathmatt878> You find the boy heading up a staircase, the one you recognize as the one your dead father was holed up in 100 years ago.
  52. [17:11] <Eloise> Eloise cringes, but keeps walking. She hopes there isn't some sort of time loop.
  53. [17:12] <Mathmatt878> You find the boy standing before the entrance of the room your father was in. However, unlike when you were there, the entrance is sealed.
  54. [17:12] <Mathmatt878> The door sealing it is the exact door that sealed the previous hallway.
  55. [17:12] <Mathmatt878> "No..."
  56. [17:12] <Mathmatt878> "Sir! Please! Open the door!"
  57. [17:13] <Eloise> "yo, dad. open up!"
  58. [17:14] <Mathmatt878> No response.
  59. [17:14] <Mathmatt878> The boy bangs against the door, but to no avail.
  60. [17:14] * Eloise looks to see if there's another plaque.
  61. [17:15] <Mathmatt878> It has the exact same plaque.
  62. [17:15] <Mathmatt878> "Sealed as of March 14th, 2115"
  63. [17:16] * Eloise thinks for a little bit, then pats the boy on the shoulder. "be right back. or not. whatev. peace!"
  64. [17:16] * Eloise time travels to the year 2015
  65. [17:17] <Mathmatt878> A similar frame by frame sort of transition plays, and you find yourself back in the empty entrance to the room. Inside, you see your father's corpse once again.
  66. [17:18] <Eloise> "fuuuuuuuuuck that shit."
  67. [17:18] * Eloise time travels to the year 2115.
  68. [17:20] <Mathmatt878> The frames pass by, and you see the body of your father piece itself back together. It changes from the dull grey of aged skin back to the usual, healthy, living colour of flesh. When you finish travelling, you see the familiar face of your father, although it is significantly older. His hair has started to grey, and he clearly seems to be the subject of fatigue.
  69. [17:20] <Mathmatt878> He sees you and smiles.
  70. [17:20] <Mathmatt878> "I knew it."
  71.
  72. ===SKIP BETWEEN PART 2===
  73.
  74. [23:55] * Eloise smiles and runs to hug her dearly loved, not-dead father.
  75. [23:55] <Eloise> "dad!!!!"
  76. [23:56] <Eloise> "haha this is so cool! you're super alive!"
  77. [23:56] <Mathmatt878> "Yes, I am."
  78. [23:56] <Mathmatt878> "At least, for now."
  79. [23:57] * Eloise exits the hug and gets serious, because it's serious business time.
  80. [23:57] <Eloise> "right. so, what do i need to do to continue on my quest? and who was that guy?"
  81. [23:58] <Mathmatt878> "I cannot answer the first question."
  82. [23:59] <Mathmatt878> "And the boy is one of our workers. In this time, we own a large company with many employees."
  83. [23:59] <Eloise> "cool, cool."
  84. [00:00] * Eloise looks inside the room her dad's currently standing in to see if anything in particular stands out.
  85. [00:00] <Mathmatt878> You see the same computers as you saw in the past, although you do note that the one which read the message telling you to choose between your mother or progress is turned off.
  86. [00:02] <Eloise> "'scuse me, pops. got some expert deducing to do."
  87. [00:02] * Eloise walks over to the computer and turns it on.
  88. [00:03] <Mathmatt878> "Excellent."
  89. [00:03] <Mathmatt878> "You've learned about the time loops, that's wonderful."
  90. [00:03] <Mathmatt878> "I'm so proud of you."
  91. [00:05] * Eloise blushes, smiling.
  92. [00:05] <Eloise> "thanks dad."
  93. [00:05] <Mathmatt878> "You're a chip off the old block."
  94. [00:06] <Mathmatt878> "I'm a time player too, you know."
  95. [00:06] <Eloise> "radical!!!"
  96. [00:06] * Eloise opens her hand for a high five
  97. [00:07] <Mathmatt878> Your father lifts his hand very calmly and high fives you, smiling the entire time.
  98. [00:08] * Eloise smiles very widely and does a cool little dance.
  99. [00:08] <Eloise> "this is so great! you being alive and all! we can win this game together!"
  100. [00:08] <Mathmatt878> His smile stops/
  101. [00:09] <Mathmatt878> "I'm sorry, Eloise, but we can't."
  102. [00:09] * Eloise nudges her dad on the shoulder with her elbow.
  103. [00:09] <Eloise> "hey pops, what's this, some sorta prank? ha"
  104. [00:09] <Eloise> "of course we're doing this together!"
  105. [00:09] <Mathmatt878> "Eloise, that's not how time travel works."
  106. [00:10] <Mathmatt878> "How much experience have you had? You're god tier, aren't you?"
  107. [00:10] <Eloise> "yeah, i'm pretty much the time expert around here."
  108. [00:10] * Eloise looks proud of herself.
  109. [00:10] <Eloise> "don't you have your own time machine?"
  110. [00:11] <Mathmatt878> "Yes, I do."
  111. [00:12] <Mathmatt878> "But, Eloise, I have a serious question for you."
  112. [00:12] <Eloise> "then just time travel with me! that's how it works, right?"
  113. [00:12] <Mathmatt878> "Do you know the rules of doomed timelines?"
  114. [00:13] * Eloise looks to the side, a little sheepishly. She's not taking this very seriously.
  115. [00:13] <Eloise> "no."
  116. [00:14] <Mathmatt878> "Anything brought from a doomed timeline into the alpha timeline is destined to perish one way or another."
  117. [00:14] <Eloise> "yeah, but everything dies. how does that change anything?"
  118. [00:14] * Eloise blows some hair out of her eyes.
  119. [00:15] <Mathmatt878> "Not eventually after. Soon after."
  120. [00:15] <Eloise> "how am i still here then?"
  121. [00:15] <Mathmatt878> "I'm... Sorry?"
  122. [00:15] <Eloise> "has it just not happened yet?"
  123. [00:16] <Mathmatt878> "What do you mean?"
  124. [00:16] <Eloise> "is it my god-tierness or whatever?"
  125. [00:16] <Mathmatt878> "I don't understand. Eloise, what happened?"
  126. [00:17] <Eloise> "uh? i'm from a doomed timeline."
  127. [00:17] <Mathmatt878> Your father looks shocked.
  128. [00:17] <Eloise> "my denizen or whatever sent me here."
  129. [00:17] <Eloise> "what?"
  130. [00:17] <Mathmatt878> "Eloise..."
  131. [00:17] <Mathmatt878> Your father hugs you deeply.
  132. [00:17] <Mathmatt878> "What happened?"
  133. [00:18] * Eloise is a little concerned, but keeps talking.
  134. [00:19] <Eloise> "um... everyone died in my timeline, so i came here..."
  135. [00:19] <Eloise> "what's wrong?"
  136. [00:19] <Mathmatt878> "But, what about the alpha Eloise?"
  137. [00:19] <Mathmatt878> "What about her?"
  138. [00:19] <Eloise> "she died. someone said that she fell trying to get to her gate or something."
  139. [00:19] <Eloise> "dad, what's wrong?"
  140. [00:20] * Eloise is now very worried.
  141. [00:20] <Eloise> "what's going to happen to me?"
  142. [00:20] <Mathmatt878> "Eloise..."
  143. [00:20] <Mathmatt878> "You're doomed."
  144. [00:20] <Mathmatt878> "Just like I was..."
  145. [00:20] <Eloise> "what... what?"
  146. [00:21] <Eloise> "what does that mean?"
  147. [00:21] <Mathmatt878> "I had a... Similar situation."
  148. [00:22] <Mathmatt878> "But, I had a way to fix it."
  149. [00:22] <Mathmatt878> "You..."
  150. [00:22] <Mathmatt878> "What is your class?"
  151. [00:23] <Mathmatt878> "Rogue?"
  152. [00:23] <Eloise> "uh, sylph. the healer."
  153. [00:23] <Mathmatt878> Your father begins to visibly think about something.
  154. [00:23] <Mathmatt878> "This could work..."
  155. [00:24] <Mathmatt878> "I think this may be a part of your quest."
  156. [00:24] * Eloise lights up.
  157. [00:24] <Eloise> "great!"
  158. [00:24] <Mathmatt878> "I think that in doing whatever your land tells you to do, you may have to also save yourself."
  159. [00:24] <Mathmatt878> "I don't know much, I'm not a seer, but I can hope."
  160. [00:25] <Mathmatt878> "Similarly, I'm also not the hope player."
  161. [00:25] <Eloise> "right."
  162. [00:25] <Eloise> "oh, hey, i have a couple of questions."
  163. [00:25] <Mathmatt878> "Go ahead."
  164. [00:25] <Eloise> "since you seem to know about all of these title things..."
  165. [00:26] <Eloise> "what's a thief of blood player do in this game?"
  166. [00:30] <Mathmatt878> "Ah, thief."
  167. [00:30] <Mathmatt878> "I'm rather fond of thieves, myself."
  168. [00:30] <Mathmatt878> "But, that may be personal bias, considering that I am one myself."
  169. [00:31] <Mathmatt878> "A thief takes for their own benefit, so I imagine a thief of blood would be dashing, able to take the unity that others have amongst themselves and use it to make himself stronger."
  170. [00:31] * Eloise whispers "cool" to herself.
  171. [00:32] <Mathmatt878> "Why do you ask? Do you have one in your session?"
  172. [00:33] <Eloise> "yeah, actually! he's one of my friends. i figured out his title in the doomed timeline."
  173. [00:33] <Eloise> "he hasn't gone god tier yet, but... i'm trying to."
  174. [00:34] <Eloise> "get him there."
  175. [00:34] <Mathmatt878> "Interesting. Doomed timeline for classpects. Very clever, Eloise."
  176. [00:34] * Eloise smiles.
  177. [00:34] <Mathmatt878> "Don't force it on people. Some of my co-players were very hesitant about their choice."
  178. [00:34] <Mathmatt878> "It comes to everyone once in a while, you just need to let them choose their own pace."
  179. [00:34] * Eloise nods.
  180. [00:34] <Eloise> "oh, also!"
  181. [00:35] <Eloise> "do you know what kind of powers space players have? i've just gotten in contact with ours and we're trying to see if we can use them to locate a very dangerous player."
  182. [00:35] <Mathmatt878> "Hm."
  183. [00:36] <Mathmatt878> "Our space player wasn't exactly open with her powers. She was a mage, she did more thinking than doing."
  184. [00:36] <Mathmatt878> "She said something about size and motion, that was all."
  185. [00:37] <Eloise> "did you guys have a rage player?"
  186. [00:37] <Mathmatt878> "Yes, we did."
  187. [00:37] <Mathmatt878> "The rogue of rage was something to be trifled with."
  188. [00:38] <Mathmatt878> "He was a very dangerous player, but we needed to come to terms with him in order to succeed."
  189. [00:38] <Mathmatt878> "I suggest you do the same."
  190. [00:38] <Eloise> "right. that's what i'm planning on."
  191. [00:38] <Eloise> "oh jeez. they're very complicated."
  192. [00:38] <Mathmatt878> "Likewise."
  193. [00:40] <Eloise> "they killed one of our players and kind of ran off... i encountered them a little bit before i entered this crypt... they were wearing this sort of dark armor?"
  194. [00:40] <Mathmatt878> "I don't know what kind of alchemy you've done, but if the armor was something to be afraid of, they may have gone grimdark."
  195. [00:40] <Eloise> "grimdark..."
  196. [00:40] <Eloise> "what's that mean?"
  197. [00:41] <Mathmatt878> "Our poor void player suffered the same fate. They were overcome by their anger and rage, fueled on by the darkness of the Horrorterrors."
  198. [00:41] <Mathmatt878> "They lost all contact with us. Refused to speak, never left their land."
  199. [00:41] <Mathmatt878> "The majority of the group blamed them on our failure as a session."
  200. [00:42] <Eloise> "yeah... that's what i don't want happening. maybe i can talk them out of it? i don't know..."
  201. [00:42] * Eloise sighs.
  202. [00:42] <Mathmatt878> "I don't know your situation, but if they have gone grimdark, I would try to avoid them."
  203. [00:43] * Eloise nods and hops up, ready to continue her mission.
  204. [00:44] <Mathmatt878> "No more questions?"
  205. [00:44] <Eloise> "yep. thanks for the answers, dad! any idea where i'm supposed to go next?"
  206. [00:44] <Mathmatt878> "I imagine you would want to see the project we had started."
  207. [00:45] <Mathmatt878> "I would hurry, though. This door won't stay here for long."
  208. [00:45] <Mathmatt878> He beckons to the seal separating you from the boy outside.
  209. [00:51] <Eloise> "right!"
  210. [00:52] * Eloise doesn't move.
  211. [00:52] <Eloise> "where is that again?"
  212. [00:52] <Mathmatt878> "The hallway you were hiding in when you first arrived."
  213. [00:53] <Eloise> "got it!"
  214. [00:53] * Eloise hugs her dad again.
  215. [00:53] <Mathmatt878> Your father returns the hug tightly.
  216. [00:54] * Eloise smiles and enjoys the hug for a moment before going on her way.
  217. [00:54] <Eloise> "it was good to see you again, dad. i really missed you."
  218. [00:54] <Mathmatt878> "If you ever need to talk to me again, about your session or mine, you know where to find me."
  219. [00:54] <Mathmatt878> "I missed you too."
  220. [00:54] <Eloise> "alright. see you later!"
  221. [00:54] <Mathmatt878> "Goodbye, Eloise."
  222. [00:54] * Eloise waves behind her as she runs off to the hallway.
  223. [00:55] <Mathmatt878> (The door is still there)
  224. [00:55] <Mathmatt878> (You time travelled to get in the room)
  225. [00:55] * Eloise does the stuff.
  226. [00:56] * Eloise looks to see if the boy is still there.
  227. [00:56] <Mathmatt878> You arrive back in the room with your dead father, and the computer message displaying your personally written message.
  228. [00:56] <Mathmatt878> In the past, the boy is not there.
  229. [00:56] <Mathmatt878> And neither is the door.
  230. [00:57] * Eloise walks into the hallway.
  231. [00:57] <Mathmatt878> (The hallway with the sealed door, or just the hallway outside dad's room?)
  232. [00:58] <Eloise> (whichever one her dad was talking about to get to the project? im a little confused w/ the layout)
  233. [01:00] <Mathmatt878> (There's the spiral staircase that you took to get to the main room. The main room has two hallways, and two staircases. One staircase led to your dad, where there was a very short hallway, and the other led to the choice between mother and progress. One hallway had all of the water that used to be in the main room drain into it, and the other was
  234. [01:00] <Mathmatt878> sealed in the past by the door, which in the future is used to seal your dad's room.)
  235. [01:03] <Eloise> (ok, so which hallway was she hiding in?)
  236. [01:03] <Mathmatt878> (She was hiding in the one with that was sealed)
  237. [01:04] <Mathmatt878> (You rolled perception to try to hear what mom and dad were saying)
  238. [01:05] <Eloise> (ah right, ok. so is there like a door that leads to whatever the project is? does eloise know where it is?)
  239. [01:05] <Mathmatt878> (yes, you've been there before.)
  240. [01:05] <Mathmatt878> (in the past, there is a door sealing it)
  241. [01:06] <Mathmatt878> (in the future, the door is instead in front of dad's room)
  242. [01:06] <Eloise> (ok, so she has to time travel to the future to get to the door? or is it open now)
  243. [01:07] <Mathmatt878> (yes, you have to travel back to the future for it to be open. In the past, it is sealed)
  244. [01:07] <Eloise> (ok)
  245. [01:08] * Eloise decides to time travel 100 years in the future after a lot of processing in her brain. Nice work, Eloise.
  246. [01:09] <Mathmatt878> When you arrive back in the future, you hear the same voice of your father discussing with your mother.
  247. [01:09] <Mathmatt878> The hallway is no longer sealed.
  248. [01:10] * Eloise walks into the hallway.
  249. [01:12] <Mathmatt878> The hallways continues for quite a while until you arrive in a very small room which contains one rather large device in the center of it.
  250. [01:12] <Mathmatt878> It looks kind of like a flower, you guess. But on top of a large, metal box.
  251. [01:13] * Eloise tries to pick up the box.
  252. [01:13] <Mathmatt878> It is much too large. It must weight hundreds of pounds!
  253. [01:14] * Eloise has a brilliant idea.
  254. [01:15] * Eloise walks back down the hallway and walks to where the sealed door would be.
  255. [01:15] * Eloise travels to 100 years in the past.
  256. [01:15] * Eloise greets her robotic friend.
  257. [01:15] <Mathmatt878> gummy waves happily.
  258. [01:16] <Mathmatt878> He knew you'd be back right away.
  259. [01:16] * Eloise brings her fist over to Gummy, waiting to be bumped.
  260. [01:16] <Mathmatt878> Gummy bumps it, as expected.
  261. [01:17] <Eloise> "nice"
  262. [01:17] * Eloise captchalogues the gummy-wielding warrior.
  263. [01:18] * Eloise travels 100 years in the future, walks through the hallway to the door. She walks over to the flower, decaptchalogues Gummy, and places him on it.
  264. [01:18] <Eloise> "gummy, my bro. can you pick up this box?"
  265. [01:19] <Mathmatt878> Gummy attempts to, but cannot. The box is several times heavier
  266. [01:21] * Eloise is devastated.
  267. [01:21] * Eloise quickly recovers.
  268. [01:22] * Eloise travels 100 years in the past, just for fun.
  269. [01:22] <Mathmatt878> In the past, the box appears to be missing.
  270. [01:23] * Eloise travels 100 years in the future.
  271. [01:23] <Mathmatt878> The box is back.
  272. [01:24] * Eloise is happy to see the box again. Eloise missed the box.
  273. [01:24] * Eloise studies the box.
  274. [01:25] <Mathmatt878> You see something that looks like this, minus the dorky looking guy.
  275. [01:25] <Mathmatt878> http://cdn.mspaintadventures.com/storyfiles/hs2/05013.gif
  276. [01:25] <Mathmatt878> Also, yours doesn't have a countdown timer.
  277. [01:25] <Eloise> What a dork.
  278. [01:34] * Eloise tries to see if she can captchalogue the bx
  279. [01:34] <Mathmatt878> It is too large.
  280. [01:35] * Eloise studies the box carefully, looking closely at all of its details.
  281. [01:35] * Eloise wants to figure out this box.
  282. [01:35] <Mathmatt878> Roll investigation
  283. [01:35] <Eloise> !roll 1d20+2
  284. [01:35] <Tyche[Dice]> Eloise rolled : 1d20+2 --> [ 1d20=9 ]{11}
  285. [01:37] <Mathmatt878> You find that there is something about the countdown changing about the box, but the lights are too dim, you can't actually tell. Heck, it might even be counting up for all you know!
  286. [01:37] <Eloise> Or counting sideways.
  287. [01:38] <Eloise> "gummy, any idea about this box?"
  288. [01:38] <Mathmatt878> Gummy shrugs.
  289. [01:41] * Eloise looks at the flower below the box for anything interesting.
  290. [01:42] <Mathmatt878> It very clearly does not seem to be a normal flower.
