- Vukašin, the Runner of the Border, both brother and sister to the Motley Howlers. Vukašin exists in two worlds, pelt double-coloured with the pale white of the moon and dark black of the night sky, tasked by Father Wolf to ever guard the borders of the world. The Motley Howlers were tasked with proving their knowledge of the many borderlines to earn the right to use them as their totem. Vukašin teaches their siblings to stand with one paw in one world, and the other in another.

- The Motley Howler initiation is simple, the prospective pack member instructed to "find themselves" in the world around them, whatever that may mean to them. This could mean anything from finding their place in the great cycle that governs nature, where they stand on the border between two things, their place in the pack, or any number of things.
