  1. "S-sorry Anonymous…it seems we needed that hug more than we realized…"
  2.
  3. "Hey, it's ok, I'm guessing that fight is worse than most ponies today know, huh?"
  4.
  5. "Y-yes…let us…not talk about it for now, ok?"
  6.
  7. "Sure thing Luna."
  8.
  9. "Thank you."
  10.
  11. You stand back up. Instead of going to your normal seat, you decide to sit next to Luna for a change. She seems surprised by this, but happy about it. The two of you engage in idle chatter until the servants bring in the food. Though the two of you eat in silence, it feels good. You never really noticed before, but Luna is quite pleasant to be around.
  12.
  13. All too soon the meal is over, and you have to go attend to the other princess. Before you and Luna part ways, you think of something. You decide that now might be a good time to see about having that drawer opened.
  14.
  15. "Hey Luna."
  16.
  17. "Yes?"
  18.
  19. "Would now be a good time to open that locked drawer?"
  20.
  21. "N-now? No I don't think I'd be able to right now…"
  22.
  23. "Oh, ok then, I'll see you later, ok?"
  24.
  25. "Yes, that sounds good, farewell, Anonymous."
  26.
  27. "Bye."
  28.
  29. You trudge your way out to one of the hidden entrances to the tunnels. You really aren't looking forward to this after last time. Unfortunately for you though, you can't just give up on her this early. She might still turn out to be nice, right? That tiny glimmer of hope is enough to keep you moving through the tunnels. Eventually you arrive to the cave.
  30.
  31. You panic a bit when you don't see Celestia at first. Suddenly, you notice her on the floor, still tied to that chair. She seems to be sound asleep, though you notice something odd. You don't think you put her gag back in, but there it sits in her mouth. Luckily for you, all the utensils are still sitting on the table. You would have been completely fucked if she had used one of them to cut her ropes.
  32.
  33. You pick up the chair and drag it over to the bed. It would be easy to just leave her in the chair, but you don't want to take chances. You untie her and dump her on the bed. Surprisingly, nothing you do wakes her up. Once you're done tying her up, you go get a small bucket of water. Dumping it on her seems to do the trick, and she jolts awake.
  34.
  35. As she's looking around, you realize something. You don't want to take her gag out, but you'll need to for her to eat. Keeping that in mind, you prepare her food as slowly as you can. Finishing up, you sigh and set it down on the bed next to her. You cross your fingers and hope that her attitude earlier was simply a fluke as you take out her gag. To your surprise, she doesn't say anything at all.
  36.
  37. "Hey, I figured you might be hungry, so I thought I'd come make you some lunch."
  38.
  39. "…" she offers no reply, she even avoids looking at you.
  40.
  41. "What's the matter? Why won't you talk to me?"
  42.
  43. Again, she won't say a word. You notice that she's not being defiant, but that she actually looks afraid.
  44.
  45. "You seemed so sure of yourself before, why are you so scared of me now?"
  46.
  47. Finally, she looks you in the eye, and opens her mouth to speak. Suddenly, her eyes widen, and her mouth snaps shut. You think whatever she saw to keep her quiet must have been behind you. However, when you turn around, there's nothing there but the cave wall. When you turn back around, she's back to avoiding even looking at you. There's something strange going on here, does something live in this cave? You hope you haven't been leaving the princess alone with some kind of monster.
  48.
  49. When you start feeding her, she eats as quickly as she can. She looks at you only just long enough to get the food in her mouth, then turns away. The whole time, she tries to keep her mouth shut as much as possible. Opening her mouth only when you're just about to hit her muzzle with the food. Soon enough she's finished her lunch, you notice her eying her gag. After washing it off, you bring it over to her. Surprisingly, she opens wide for it without even being asked.
  50.
  51. After fastening the gag on her, she seems to relax a little. She's still not looking at you, but she seems more at ease with the gag in. You decide to have a look around, something had to have caused her to freak out. You scour every inch of the cave, but you can't find anything. Whatever it was must not be here right now. You decide that you'll have to find some way to hide out and surprise it when it comes back. It might be dangerous though, so you'll need to get your hands on a weapon.
  52.
  53. Unfortunately, no one but guards are allowed to carry weapons in the castle. You'll either have to steal one from the armory, or make your own. You don't want to risk stealing from the armory and drawing attention to yourself. It's less risky to just make your own, even if it will be poor quality. You depart from the cave thinking about what kind of weapon to try making. You decide on something easy to make, that you can get the materials for easily. You're going to sharpen a stick into a makeshift spear.
  54.
  55. You exit into the castle gardens, looking around to make sure no ponies are around to see you. You go up to a tree and snap off a decent sized branch. It might not be the most sturdy weapon, but you hope it will give you some reach on whatever is in that cave. All you need to do now is find a knife, you stash the stick in the tunnels and begin your search. It doesn't take long to find a knife that would work. It's blade is only about the length of your thumb and the tip is rounded, but it will work. Tiny knife in tow, you make your way back into the tunnels to start work on your spear.
  56.
  57. By dinner time you've managed to start forming the tip. Unfortunately for Celestia, you might not finish the thing until late tomorrow. You set the spear and knife aside for now. You're getting hungry, and Luna might be suspicious of you missing meals. You make sure to leave through a different exit and make your way to dinner. On the way to the dining hall, you find yourself looking forward to the meal. You never noticed how much you enjoyed Luna's company.
  58.
  59. You realize that your obsession with her sister must have blinded you to her. You decide that you're going to take some time and get to know her. In the 2 years that you've been in Equestria, you never bothered making any friends. You have a feeling that Luna could be the first friend you've made here. At dinner you sit by her again. The two of you have pleasant conversation, exchanging hobbies and interests. You find out that the two of you have a bit in common.
  60.
  61. Back on earth, you always enjoyed looking at the stars. Even as the one who paints the night sky, Luna still enjoys stargazing. You suggest that once she has a day off, the two of you should have a midnight picnic. She seems ecstatic about the idea for a few seconds before calming down and agreeing. You notice that she seems exceptionally cheery this time around.
  62.
  63. "What's got you in such a good mood?"
  64.
  65. "Today has just gone exceptionally well for us is all, and enjoying the company of a good friend such as yourself only makes our day better."
  66.
  67. "Well I'm glad to hear it, anything specific that you feel like sharing?"
  68.
  69. "Huh? Er…no…just boring pony politics, you wouldn't be interested."
  70.
  71. "You sure?"
  72.
  73. "Y-yes."
  74.
  75. "What's up with you? You seem nervous all of a sudden."
  76.
  77. "We… just remembered that we have an important meeting coming up, that's all."
  78.
  79. "Oh, well good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine." you give her a friendly hug, and she seems to calm down a bit.
  80.
  81. "Yes, you're right, thank you Anonymous."
  82.
  83. "No problem Luna."
  84.
  85. With that, it's time to part ways. The two of you say your goodbyes and express mutual excitement for the coming picnic. As much as you'd like to work on your spear, you decide to head to bed instead. Overall it's been a pretty good day. You feel like your new friendship with Luna is going pretty well. You're still concerned about whatever has Celly so scared. After the spear is finished, you plan on hiding somewhere in the cave to see if you can catch whatever is in there.
  86.
  87. You drift off into a peaceful sleep. It's a dreamless sleep, and soon enough you wake up. While you'd like to spend some more time with Luna, you decide to go work on the spear. By the time lunch rolls around, you've pretty much finished it. You walk to the dining hall, trying to think of a good reason to miss dinner. You know you could always just not show up, but you don't want Luna to worry about you. You run through excuse after excuse, but none of them seem good.
  88.
  89. You eventually decide to pretend that the meal made you tired, and that you're going to go to bed early. It's pretty flimsy, but it's the best you've got. You figure that you'll need to hang around that cave from dusk to dawn to catch whatever's in there. You just hope that she doesn't decide to come check up on you. You don't really want your friendship with her ruined right after it began. As you enter the dining hall, you cross your fingers and silently pray that this works
  90.
  91. Once again, it's an extremely pleasant time. Luna tells you all about how silly running a country can be. You're shocked by how easy it sounds compared to how earth is. You even explain how different things were back home. She's enthralled by your tales of humanity's exploits. Quicker than you'd like, however, it's time to see if your excuse will work.
  92.
  93. You fake a yawn, and try to act tired. You tell her that it's been a long day for you, and that you think you'll turn in. She seems concerned by the fact that you're going to bed at noon.
  94.
  95. "Anonymous, are you ok? It's quite early for you to be so tired."
  96.
  97. "No, no, it's fine, I've just had a long day."
  98.
  99. "Doing what exactly?"
  100.
  101. "I was looking for clues about where Celestia could have gone, I only just noticed how tired I am." you try to fake another yawn.
  102.
  103. She eyes you suspiciously "Did you find anything?"
  104.
  105. "Sadly I didn't, I went back over her entire room but nothing seems to have come up…though I'll still need you to open that locked drawer sometime soon."
  106.
  107. "O-oh…yes…well, we have been busy too…so I guess it's understandable that you would be tired…"
  108.
  109. For whatever reason, that drawer makes Luna nervous. you decide it would be a good idea to keep that in mind for the future.
  110.
  111. "Anyways, I'm going to bed, goodnight Luna."
  112.
  113. "G-goodnight Anonymous."
  114.
  115. "Oh, and good luck with that meeting, whenever it is."
  116.
  117. "Meeting? What mee- oh yes, the important meeting..yes…thank you Anonymous."
  118.
  119. You feel bad for lying to her, but there's no way you could tell her the truth. If she knew you were responsible for her sister's disappearance, she'd never forgive you. It's weird that she forgot that meeting, but you decide not to worry about it for now. You head to your room, you want to put something in your bed, in case anyone should decide to check on you. You throw something together that looks human enough from a distance. It's not the most convincing thing, but it will have to do.
  120.
  121. You head to the tunnels to get your spear and make your way to Celestia. You move slowly towards the cave. Making sure that your makeshift weapon is always at the ready. You don't want whatever is in here to catch you off guard. You see nothing as you enter the cave. Celestia is tugging at her bonds, but that's to be expected.
  122.
  123. As she notices you, she gives you a glare that could kill. It's a bit odd to see her acting so fiercely after how scared she was last time. You decide it's best to ignore her and find a place to hide. If whatever had her so scared last time isn't in the cave now, you'd stay out of site when it arrives. You manage to find a decent sized stalagmite a couple foot out from the cave wall. You crouch down and make sure to keep yourself as quiet and small as possible. Both hands are on your sharpened stick, ready to jump out at a seconds notice.
  124.
  125. You can't tell, but you think hours have passed. Your legs are starting to fall asleep and your back hurts, but you stay vigilant. Eventually your patience pays off. You can hear something approaching. As it gets closer, you notice something worrying. That sound you're hearing, is the sound of hooves hitting stone. It's no mere creature that's found your hideout, but a pony.
  126.
  127. You force yourself to stay calm. If you can just stay hidden, you might not be fucked just yet. Just then, something very concerning hits you. That's not the normal sound of hooves on stone, there's a distinct metallic sound to it. It's a sound you're very familiar with. The sound of royal horseshoes, you're heart sinks as you realize what that means. You peek out to see if Celly is out of her bed.
  128.
  129. You feel your panic intensify as you notice that she's still firmly held to the bed. That can only mean one thing, the princess approaching…has to be Luna. If it was any other pony you might have been able to capture them too so you won't be found out. Luna is an entirely different case, you don't think you could capture her if you tried. Even if you thought you had a chance, you don't even want to try. She's your first Equestrian friend, and you don't want to hurt her. You feel even worse as you realize what this could mean for your friendship.
  130.
  131. She finally enters the cave, stopping to look around. Once she seems satisfied that she's alone, she approaches the bed. You creep out from behind your rock to peek at the sisters. Luna has a sinister look on her face as she looms over her sister. It's odd to see her looking so sinister compared to the friend you know. She spends a moment like that, just standing there, looking over her helpless sister. Finally, she decides it's time to speak.
  132.
  133. "Greetings sister, you did well in following my request, it would not have ended well for you had you not decided to keep your big mouth shut."
  134.
  135. Celestia can do nothing but glare at her sister, completely immobilized and gagged as she is.
  136.
  137. "Oh, it seems that someone has forgotten who's in charge now, perhaps I shall remind you."
  138.
  139. With that she levitates one of the knives you have in your makeshift kitchen over to her. She looks it over for a moment before bringing it to Celestia's throat. Instantly Celly's furious glare turns to a look of shock, then to one of pleading. Luna grins, seeming satisfied that her message has gotten through. Though she doesn't take the knife away as she continues to speak.
  140.
  141. "Now listen and listen well, you are not to speak to Anonymous in any way, pleasant or unpleasant. If you so much as even look at him in a way that we disapprove of, we will not hesitate to end you, are we clear?"
  142.
  143. Celestia gulps and nods slowly, trying to keep the serrations of the knife from digging into her neck any further.
  144.
  145. "Good, we will be watching you."
  146.
  147. As she turns to leave, you can feel your legs finally start to give out from all the crouching. You try to keep yourself steady, but it only results in you noisily collapsing to the floor. You stumble back to a standing position and grab your spear. You're legs still feel a bit weak so you use it to prop yourself up. Though it's not like you would have really used it on your only friend. Luna seems surprised to see you at first, but quickly gets over it. She turns to face you, and the too of you look at each other silently for a moment, and then she speaks.
  148.
  149. "So, long day looking for clues ey?"
  150.
  151. "Look, I can explain, this isn't what it looks like."
  152.
  153. "Isn't it? Because it looks to us like you finally gave in to your obsession with our sister and kidnapped her."
  154.
  155. "I-er…well what was up with you back there huh? All that threatening and stuff?"
  156.
  157. "Anonymous, do you know what our sister is really like? Just how terrible she can be?"
  158.
  159. "I…might have caught a glimpse of that."
  160.
  161. "A glimpse?"
  162.
  163. "Well I set up this whole romantic dinner for her with expensive food and everything, but it went south pretty quick…"
  164.
  165. "Of course it did, sister only dates princes."
  166.
  167. "But that still doesn't explain what you were doing earlier."
  168.
  169. "Anonymous, would you please come with me, it's about time I showed you something."
  170.
  171. "Well…you haven't vaporized me for kidnapping your sister yet…so promise you aren't leading me into a trap?"
  172.
  173. "Ugh, yes, we promise now come on."
  174.
  175. She led you out of the cave into the tunnels. You notice the way she's heading, it's to her sister's room. As you walk, you decide to ask her how she found her sister. She elects not to answer for now, saying that she'll tell you later. You don't really like that answer but you just go with it. When you try to ask about her sister she just stops. She asks you to please stop talking.
  176.
  177. She doesn't look annoyed just…sad. You quickly apologize and even give her a small hug. She leans into you for a moment and then pulls away. Whatever she's about to show you must be painful, tears are already forming in her eyes. You keep a hand on her back as the two of you walk. This seems to reassure her a bit. Finally, the two of you reach your destination.
  178.
  179. "Well, here we are…"
  180.
  181. "Yeah."
  182.
  183. "Sigh, come along Anonymous, let us get this over with."
  184.
  185. "Ok, but what are you going to show me?"
  186.
  187. "Remember that drawer you kept asking me about?"
  188.
  189. "Yes, what about it?"
  190.
  191. "Just…come on."
  192.
  193. She exits into Celestia's room and waits for you. You exit the tunnels shortly behind her. Without saying a word, she moves over to the drawer. Before you know it, it's coming open. To your surprise, the only thing inside is a book. It looks to be extremely old, and very thick. Luna nods at the book, silently telling you to take it.
  194.
  195. You heft the book out of the drawer. You can't be sure, but you think it took a whole tree to make the thing. Setting it down on the bed, you look back at Luna. She walks over and just stares at the book. She sighs and opens the front cover. She reads out the writing on the very first page, which is written in ancient pony.
  196.
  197. "It says 'This diary belongs to Princess Celestia'."
  198.
  199. "This thing is a diary? It's so big!"
  200.
  201. "It was custom made for our sister, she insisted on only using one book instead of many. It's so big because of how long she's expected to be writing in it."
  202.
  203. "Wow."
  204.
  205. "Yes, she's had it since we were both foals."
  206.
  207. "And how long has that been?"
  208.
  209. "Never ask a lady her age Anonymous."
  210.
  211. "Oh! Sorry I didn't mean it like that!"
  212.
  213. "Hehehe, calm down Anonymous, we were only joking, a bit of humor will help us get through what is coming. The truth is, when you're immortal, you eventually stop counting your birthdays."
  214.
  215. "I guess that makes sense…I'd hate to have to try fitting thousands of candles all on the same cake."
  216.
  217. That gets her to smile a bit, "Yes, it was quite humorous the one time we tried it."
  218.
  219. "So…this will show me what's up between you and your sister?"
  220.
  221. She simply nods and turns the page. For a while it doesn't seem so bad. Young Celestia seemed to be a good filly. Strangely though, there's no mention of Luna. Soon enough you see why, there is an entry stating that Celly's mother was pregnant. That's where she started to get…bad. She wrote that she doesn't want a little brother or sister.
  222.
  223. "She never did like us you know…"
  224.
  225. "Is that the royal us, or the regular kind?"
  226.
  227. "Both…She's been mean to us as long as we can remember…and she only let you stay here to look kind."
  228.
  229. "Really?"
  230.
  231. "Yes, she only ever acts nice like that to appear empathetic and caring."
  232.
  233. "No, I mean she's really been mean to you for as long as you can remember?"
  234.
  235. "Sigh…yes…we used to have a sweet tooth like hers you know, it went away after she kept taking all the dessert whenever we ate. On top of that she'd always take any candy we received, she'd hit us and run off with the candy while we nursed the wound."
  236.
  237. "Wow…"
  238.
  239. "Yeah"
  240.
  241. She continued reading. Entry after entry, Celestia detailed all the mean things she's done to Luna over the years. The worst part is that she seems proud of all of it. Luna is slowly breaking down as she goes on. Having to relive all the thousands of years of abuse by her sister must be hard on her. You try to get her to take a break, but she refuses. She says that the quicker she gets this done the better.
  242.
  243. "Ah yes…this entry…she got ponies to start calling us things like 'moon butt'…"
  244.
  245. "Really? Moon butt?"
  246.
  247. "Indeed, she thought it would be funny."
  248.
  249. "Why though?"
  250.
  251. "Probably because of the blow it would later cause to our self esteem…do you know what being called things like 'moon butt' for thousands of years does to a pony?"
  252.
  253. "I can imagine…"
  254.
  255. "Yes…"
  256.
  257. The longer she goes on, the more surprised you are. Less and less by how horrible Celestia can manage to be without getting physical. More so at just how much Luna was able to endure. The fact that she turned out the way she did was nothing short of a miracle. You're shocked by the true nature of her sister, but you're proud of your friend. Without even thinking about it, you give her another hug, if not for her, than for yourself. She briefly stops reading to share in the embrace, but soon gets back to it.
  258.
  259. "Would you like to know what her favorite thing was?"
  260.
  261. "What was it?"
  262.
  263. "Well, after we expressed our feelings of being underappreciated, she told us that ponies sleep through the night just to spite us. She said that they didn't like us…that ponies didn't think they needed the night, and that they could get so much more done if it was always day time…"
  264.
  265. "Ouch…that had to have felt terrible."
  266.
  267. "It did Anonymous, it hurt so much that we fell to the temptations of evil."
  268.
  269. "Celestia mentioned that you tried and failed to take over once."
  270.
  271. "Yes, that little incident ended with us on the moon…for a thousand years."
  272.
  273. "Wow, banished for a thousand years just for feeling like nobody appreciates what you do? Now that's just low."
  274.
  275. "That isn't even the end of it, Anonymous, you said you were reading history books before, yes?"
  276.
  277. "Yeah…there was no mention of you in any of them though."
  278.
  279. "Yes, that was sister's doing, while we were away, she had us removed from all records and history books. It was as if she never had a sister."
  280.
  281. You feel disgusted. How could you have ever fallen for someone so vile? Could you really not see how she was? Did your admiration of her blind you? You give Luna another quick hug before getting up. You lift the overly large diary and go back into the tunnels. You want to hear all this from Celly herself.
  282.
  283. You trust Luna, but you want to be absolutely sure. Not long ago, you saw Celestia as the most kind and noble creature ever. If there's any chance that this horrible version of her is just a lie, you want to find out. As you enter the cave again, Celestia isn't trying to escape this time. You drop the book with a heavy thud on the bed. She jerks up and looks at you in surprise, then to the book. You can hear her gasp behind the gag.
  284.
  285. Her shock quickly fades though. Soon she's trying to light you on fire with her eyes. You take out her gag so she can speak. Unfortunately Luna's threat was still fresh in her mind. She stops glaring at you and looks away with a huff. You can't even get her to look your way. You sigh and go to get Luna. You're sure that if she knows her sister isn't going to murder her for it, then she'll talk. Luna doesn't care for the idea, but understands your concern.
  286.
  287. As you enter the cave with Luna, Celestia brings her attention back to you. When she sees Luna, she panics. She starts thrashing and screaming trying to escape what se assumes is her impending doom. You go to try and calm her down but Luna stops you. She puts a hoof out in front of you and just shakes her head. You guess that she wants to just let her sister tire herself out. Although if what you've recently learned is true, she might just be having fun watching her sister panic.
  288.
  289. Before long Celestia is out of breath. She lays her head down and resigns herself to her fate. You look over at Luna, and she nods. You go over to Celestia and begin scratching behind her ear. Without even realizing it, she brings her head up to follow your hand. She blushes as you take your hand away, once again embarrassed by enjoying you doing that. She practically pants as she look between you and Luna in confusion.
  290.
  291. "It's ok to talk Celly, Luna isn't going to murder you for it. Right Luna?"
  292.
  293. "Yes, please sister, answer Anonymous's questions, we promise not to gut you for it."
  294.
  295. "O-ok…"
  296.
  297. "Now Celestia, I want you to tell me, is everything in that book true?" you point to the diary.
  298.
  299. "Let me see it."
  300.
  301. You open the diary up and put it in a position that she can read it in. Her anger returns once she reads a few entries.
  302.
  303. "What in tartarus are you two doing with my diary?!"
  304.
  305. Though Luna isn't happy with her sister's tone, she refrains from stabbing her.
  306.
  307. "If you must know, Luna there opened the drawer it was in for me, she wanted to show me how horrible you really were."
  308.
  309. "Horrible?! You want to know what's horrible? Getting stuck with a whiny little foal like her for a sister! She's always crying about everything!"
  310.
  311. You can see Luna about to lose it. You make your way over to her and give her a hug. You tell her that she might want to wait outside the cave while you do this. She reluctantly agrees and exits. Celestia calls her a crybaby on her way out. Luna just ignores her and keeps walking. You prepare to really start questioning Celly.
  312.
  313. "Now then, do you want to explain just what the hell is wrong with you?"
  314.
  315. "Wrong with me?! What's wrong with you? Kidnapping me, humiliating me, and now you're invading my privacy!"
  316.
  317. "Love makes a person do crazy things."
  318.
  319. "Love?! That's what you call your sickening obsession with me?"
  320.
  321. "I used to think that you were the most beautiful, kind, noble and graceful thing I've ever seen, but I realize now that you're easily the most repulsive thing ever."
  322.
  323. "What, just because I won't sleep with you? You over grown monkey!"
  324.
  325. "My god, how shallow can you get?! No, I don't give a damn about having sex with you! It's what you did to your own sister that makes you a horrible person!"
  326.
  327. "Oh yes, the sister I never wanted! The sister who's ALWAYS crying like a foal over EVERYTHING! Oh how terrible."
  328.
  329. "Just because you didn't want a sister doesn't mean you have free reign to be mean to her for her entire life!"
  330.
  331. "Oh really? YOU think you get to tell ME what to do? I RULE this country Anonymous, and when I get out of here, you're going to pay, you AND Luna!"
  332.
  333. This was starting to get to be more than you can deal with. You decide to cut the conversation short for now. Celestia doesn't let you put her gag back in. Not wanting to waste any more effort on that horrid creature, you leave. You need to go talk to Luna. There's no way you two could let Celestia go. You don't want to kill her…but you may not have a choice.
  334.
  335. "Hey Luna…"
  336.
  337. "Ah, welcome back Anonymous, how was your talk with our sister?"
  338.
  339. "It's all true isn't it? She really is a monster…"
  340.
  341. "There there Anonymous, appearances can be deceiving."
  342.
  343. "So, what do you think we should do with her?"
  344.
  345. "We can not let her go now, she'd do terrible things to both of us."
  346.
  347. "I think maybe we should give her a taste of her own medicine."
  348.
  349. "Oh? Do tell Anonymous, what do you have in mind?"
  350.
  351. "She sent you to the moon for 1000 years, right?"
  352.
  353. "Yes…it was quite traumatic for us…"
  354.
  355. "Well, I think we should give her a time out of her own, what do you think of her spending 1000 years in that cave?"
  356.
  357. "A most devious idea…we like it!"
  358.
  359. "I'll need your help to make sure she won't escape."
  360.
  361. "We should go to the royal library for some spell books, better to be safe than sorry."
  362.
  363. With that the two of you depart to the library. You want to make sure that there's no way for her to escape. Luna also seems to hint that there is something else she want's to research. You keep asking, but all she does is giggle and tell you that you'll know when she's done. You're a little worried about that. She might be trying to find something to erase her sister's memory and personality. As much as she disgusts you, no one deserves that kind of fate.
  364.
  365. The two of you enter the massive library. You split up to scour the place for all the spellbooks you can find. Once you have a decent couple stacks, you start looking for the relevant spells. You bookmark all kinds of wards and movement restriction spells. Whenever you finish a book, Luna takes it, she removes the marks on any spell she doesn't think will work. It takes the two of you all of the rest of the day to finish finding spells. As you get up to go to bed, Luna tells you to go ahead and leave without her.
  366.
  367. You assume that she's going to be working on her secret spell. As much as not knowing what she's planning worries you, you leave her to it. All the reading has you exhausted and you just want to get to bed. You hope that the two of you can find enough spells to keep Celestia locked away in that cave. That diary…You can't believe that you fell for someone like that. How anyone could be so mean to their own sibling…it baffles you. You clear the thoughts from your mind as you drift off to sleep.
  368.
  369. Luna actually visit's you in your dream. She changes everything so that the two of you are sitting in a park on a perfectly clear night. She conjures up a red a and white checkered blanket and a picnic basket. She goes and has a seat on the blanket and motions for you to join her. You walk over, your eyes wandering to the sky. It's beautiful, more so than any night sky you’ve ever seen on earth. As you sit down by Luna, she scoots closer to you.
  370.
  371. "This is beautiful Luna."
  372.
  373. "Why thank you Anonymous, we are glad you like it"
  374.
  375. "It's amazing, I've never seen anything like it!"
  376.
  377. Luna giggles at your excitement, "Just one of the perks of being my lover."
  378.
  379. "Lover? Isn't it a bit too soon for us to be that clo-."
  380.
  381. You're cut off as she pulls you in for a kiss. At first you're rigid, but you soon give in to passion. You open your eyes, you lay there and stare at the ceiling. That was a bit of an odd dream. Was that really Luna though? You get out of bed and think about her. Are you really ready to go that far with her? You decide to ask Luna about that dream later.
  382.
  383. You head out to lunch. You keep thinking about that dream as you make your way through the castle. You're almost certain that was the real Luna. But then again, you were sure that dream about Celestia was real too. As you arrive in the dining hall, Luna is nowhere to be seen. You take a seat by yourself and eat in silence. It's actually pretty lonely eating without her.
  384.
  385. At first you just eat slowly, lost in thought. About half way through your meal, you start scarfing your food down. With everything that's happened so far, you don't want to be alone with your thoughts. You just want to go hang out with your friend and forget about Celly. The regret for those 2 years you wasted on her hits you like a brick wall. You wasted 2 full years obsessing over her, and that's 2 years you'll never get back. You could have spent those years doing something productive, but instead you wasted it obsessing over something you could never have
  386.
  387. You finally finish your food and get up to go find Luna. Between your concern for her secret spell and your regret, you need to find her. The first place you check is the library. Luckily your first guess is the right one. You find her passed out at the same table you left her at last night. Her head is laying on a spellbook, her mouth open a bit as she drools on it. You try to approach her quietly, with some luck, you can find out what her secret spell is.
  388.
  389. Unfortunately, her head is covering half of it. Her drool smears the words on the other half. You're a bit worried about the fact that she may have just ruined an ancient spell book. Though you find yourself more concerned about the fact that she spent all night at this table. You gently shake her and try to wake her up, but she's sleeping like a rock. You shake her a bit harder and she jerks awake. She looks at you, then to the ruined book. She quickly fixes it with magic, slams it shut and puts it away before you can see what it is.
  390.
  391. "Oh uh hello Anonymous…"
  392.
  393. "Long night?"
  394.
  395. "Uh…yes, we were going to go to bed shortly after you…but we got distracted."
  396.
  397. "Got distracted huh? You know, I could swear that you visited me in my dreams."
  398.
  399. "We find it sweet that you dreamt of us."
  400.
  401. "No Luna, I mean that you actually visited me in my dreams."
  402.
  403. "We uh…no, no, we have been here all night."
  404.
  405. "If you say so, did you at least make an progress on your secret spell?"
  406.
  407. "Why yes actually, we are very close to completing our research."
  408.
  409. "Well that's uh…that's good, still not going to tell me what it is, are you?"
  410.
  411. "Not yet Anonymous, but soon."
  412.
  413. "And what about the spells we'll need to keep your sister in that cave?"
  414.
  415. "We should have everything we need."
  416.
  417. "Alright, we should probably go get that done soon, shouldn't we?"
  418.
  419. "Yes, the sooner, the better."
  420.
  421. "Let's go get this over with then."
  422.
  423. "Yes, let us go."
  424.
  425. You walk side by side to the cave. The somber mood kills any attempt at conversation. Eventually the two of you just give up on trying to talk and walk in silence. You're really not looking forward to this, but you feel that it must be done. Celestia is a horrible pony, and she needs to be brought to justice for what she's done. You just hope Luna picked the right spells. If Celly gets out…you just hope she doesn't get out.
  426.
  427. Without saying a word, Luna gets to work. Her horn lights up, she starts teleporting your furnishings out of the cave. From what she told you, the moon is an empty and boring place. She stops before teleporting the bed, she needs to set up some precautions first. The first thing she does is cast some spells on the cave itself. The first was one to make it completely soundproof, no matter how loud she gets, no one outside the cave will hear her. The second was one that put a barrier on the entrance.
  428.
  429. To your surprise, the next spell was something she cast on herself and you. It didn't seem to do anything…at least until she cast her next spell. Suddenly celly was gasping, she looked like she couldn't breathe. You asked Luna what she did, and she explained that there is no air on the moon either. Luna explains that, while not fatal, it causes them great pain if they don't do the things that mortals need to do to survive. You watch as she stares at her sister, a sadistic grin coming across her face. You needed to remind her of the difference between her and her sister.
  430.
  431. "Luna, you're not…enjoying this, are you?"
  432.
  433. "Sweet revenge against the one being who is almost solely responsible for all our misfortunes? How could we not enjoy this?"
  434.
  435. "Luna no, you're better than that! Better than her! If you take pleasure in this, then you're no better than she is, if anything, it makes you worse."
  436.
  437. "Worse?! How could we be worse than her?! She made every day for us a living hell with her constant torment! HOW COULD WE NOT TAKE PLEASURE IN VENGANCE!?"
  438.
  439. "Because then you've just become your sister. You should know better than to abuse her, because you were abused. We're here to teach her a lesson, not get revenge, and if you can't see that, then I can't be your friend."
  440.
  441. "We…you are right Anonymous…What were we thinking? We almost became the very monster we hate…thank you."
  442.
  443. "Shhh, no thanks needed Luna, it's what friends are for."
  444.
  445. You give here a nice long hug before she gets back to spell casting. She cast the next spell on her sister, the cave would now appear infinite to her. Celestia would think she is walking in the same direction for days, when in reality she would just be walking in circles. She would also be unable to see the entrance to the cave. Satisfied with her work inside the cave, Luna exited. She started casting ward after ward, spell after spell, and soon you were the only two who could see or enter the cave. After all that, the two of you went back in, and freed Celestia from the bed. The bed was teleported away and Celestia was left with nothing but an empty, dark cave.
  446.
  447. "So…what now?"
  448.
  449. "Now we leave sister to her fate, we can decide what to do with her in one thousand years."
  450.
  451. "I meant what do we do right now?"
  452.
  453. "We must attend to a few royal duties, but we shall talk again at dinner."
  454.
  455. "Ok then…oh hey! Why don't I keep you company while you do your work?"
  456.
  457. "heh while we appreciate the offer, these matters are for royal eyes only."
  458.
  459. "Oh…ok then."
  460.
  461. With that, the two of you parted ways. You're not really sure what to do now. You'd rather not be alone, but Luna is your only friend. You wander out to the castle gardens. Taking a seat, you admire the beautiful flowers all around you. You start to feel peaceful, the sights and scents of the flowers clear your mind. For just a few minutes, you think about nothing at all.
  462.
  463. Suddenly, you jerk upright. Looking at the position of the sun suggests that you fell asleep for at least a couple hours. It seems that you got a bit too relaxed. On the bright side, it's about dinner time now. Getting up, you stretch, sleeping on a garden bench didn't do your neck any favors. You start making your way to the dining hall as you try to loosen your neck up. To your surprise, the doors to the dining hall are closed.
  464.
  465. You try to pull one of the large doors open, only to find that it won't move. This is odd, usually these doors are left wide open. Deciding to try a different tactic, you knock on the door. The light rapping receives no response. You knock harder and harder until you're pounding on the door. Luckily, as your hand starts to hurt, the door is cracked open. The pony who answers isn't who you expected. Though you don't really know who to expect in this situation.
  466.
  467. It's…some pink pony. She cracks the door open just enough to put her head out. For a minute, you just look at her, trying to remember her name. You're pretty sure she's related to the princesses, but you completely forgot her name. Was it something with a C? Claire? Or maybe it was Candice. Yeah, Candice sounds about right. You realize that she's been waiting on you to say something the whole time.
  468.
  469. "Uh…hey, why is the dining hall closed?"
  470.
  471. "That's official royal business that's on a need to know basis."
  472.
  473. "Oh…well will it be open again soon? I'd like to get some dinner."
  474.
  475. "No, it'll likely be closed for the rest of the-."
  476.
  477. "Cadance, would you please come speak to us?" Oh yeah! It was Cadance! At least you were close.
  478.
  479. "Yes auntie, be right there! Would you excuse me for a moment?"
  480.
  481. She pulls herself back into the dining hall and closes the door behind her. You try to peek in and see what's going on in there. You can't manage to make anything out before it closes. You decide to try listening through the door to se if you can catch their conversation. Unfortunately, the thick wood doors do a good job of keeping sound in. A minute later, Cadance is poking her head out the door again. She asks that you wait there for a couple minutes.
  482.
  483. Not long after, you're being led into the dining hall. It's dark in there, so dark you can't see where you're going. Cadance guides you to your chair, and pulls it out for you, then she leaves without a word. Suddenly, candles all over the room light up, and a string quartet starts playing. You've seen fancy dinners before, but this surely takes the cake. Then, you notice who's sitting across from you. It's Luna, she gives you a kind of sheepish smile, then blushes and looks away.
  484.
  485. "Uh Luna? Is…is this…a date?"
  486.
  487. "I-Iis it not good enough? W-we can do better! Please, just give us some time to-."
  488.
  489. "Woah, easy there Luna, it's wonderful, but we've only been friends for about a week."
  490.
  491. "O-only friends? D-did we…did we, get put into the zone of friendship?" she looks like she might cry now.
  492.
  493. You rush over to her side to comfort her. "No Luna, I'm not 'friendzoning' you, I'm just saying that it might be a bit too soon for something like this."
  494.
  495. "B-but…we thought…that our feelings were…shared."
  496.
  497. You run a hand down her back "Luna, I'm not going to lie, I think I really do feel something for you…something more than just friendship, but rushing into a relationship can be dangerous."
  498.
  499. "Dangerous?"
  500.
  501. "Yes, if we blindly rush into this it could end with both of us hurt, we have to give it time to happen naturally."
  502.
  503. "But…we put a lot of work into this…we even brought our niece in to help…could you…just humor us?" she looks at you with those big eyes of hers, silently begging.
  504.
  505. "Oh…alright, but we should really take it slow after this."
  506.
  507. She seems to be reassured. You take your seat across from her once more. As much as you don't want to rush things, you have to admit that this is really nice. You ask Luna if she thinks she could arrange for music during meals more often. She tells you that it should be saved for special occasions. As the meal goes by, she starts to loosen up a bit. You know better than to rush into something with her, but the prospect is certainly tempting.
  508.
  509. "So uh…why did you bring Candance in to help with this anyways?"
  510.
  511. "Her name is Cadance, Anonymous, and she's the princess of love, we figured that she would be the perfect pony to set up a date."
  512.
  513. "Wait, she's a princess too?"
  514.
  515. "Yes Anonymous, did you not see her wings and horn?"
  516.
  517. "Promise not to tell her?"
  518.
  519. "Hehehe, yes, we promise."
  520.
  521. "To be totally honest, something about her is just so forgettable to me, I didn't even remember her name when I saw her earlier."
  522.
  523. "You seem to have forgotten her name again just now."
  524.
  525. "Yeah…"
  526.
  527. She has a little giggle at your inability to remember anything about…what was her name again? The two of you bond a bit more as the diner comes to a close. Desert was an interesting experience. Luna practically scarfed the whole cake down on her own before remembering to offer you any. You have to admit, it's odd seeing Luna eat like that. You think that you'd like to do this again some time. Luna is extremely happy when you tell her as much. Not even telling her that you should wait a few more weeks before doing it again brings her mood down.
