- 》Introduction《
- There are numerous ways to earn money. Creating artwork and selling them to a customer, getting a job within a corporation, or even a child asking money from their parents. The bottom line of this is that these lead back to one thing: business. According to the Merriam-Webster's dictionary, business can be defined as "dealings or transactions especially of an economic nature".
- Dating back to 6000 BC, business was already present in the form of barter. This system allowed those involved to get food, weapons, and other items they would need via trading those items with each other (Square, 2000).
- As centuries had passed by, the commercial scene had also started to evolve, especially with the addition of money. More people started to participate in these business practices which created competition between themselves. They needed to figure out a way to attract more customers than their competitors.
- This is where marketing comes into play. It is defined as the process of developing, communicating, delivering, and trading offerings that are valuable to customers, clients, partners, and society at large collectively ("Definitions of Marketing", 2017). Business owners attempt to sway their consumers into buying their products or services, rather from other similar businesses.
- Traditional marketing is the most recognizable types of marketing as it consists of techniques that the general population is exposed to. This could range from billboards, advertisements plastered on walls, and door-to-door sales ("Traditional Marketing", 2020).
- However, as the world continued to evolve, businesses also continued to adapt into modern times. This is when digital marketing started to gain popularity between businesses. Also known as online marketing, it is a promotion of products and/or services using the internet to spread the information regarding it ("Digital Marketing", n.d.).
