- The way the intruder either deliberately or unknowingly ignored Paige's discomfort with his trespassing was helping her grow more and more angry with every passing second. She narrowed her eyes at him and frowned as her mind raced to piece together what Paige hoped would be a venomous rebuttal to his offer. She was on the cusp of responding before a very dramatic interruption occurred and robbed her of the opportunity. It was another girl who seemed shocked to see both Paige and the intruder, so much that she shouted some kind of incantation -- Paige was too surprised to follow most of it.
- The next thing she knew, that obnoxious intruder froze like a statue and fell over. The pose he was in followed by his panic should have sent Paige into a fit of giggles, under normal circumstances. Seeing the guy go so rigid in the blink of an eye and stay that way sure as hell wasn't normal to a girl who scoffed at the idea of magic, and now all she could think about was whether or not the other intruder would spout some more hocus pocus and turn her into a rabbit or something. She was out of the frying pan and into the freezer, as the saying went.
- Paige forced herself to look away from the unfortunate victim and face the magician girl in time to see her standing less than three or so inches away from her, which was a serious breach of her personal bubble. "Hey--!" She couldn't finish her sentence before the girl was feeling up her arms and, most disturbingly, her face; patting them down as if she were concealing some kind of weapon. However The way she went about it, meticulous and gentle, quickly made Paige change her mind, the girl was checking her for injuries. That realization made her cheeks flare, especially when the girl cupped her hands around her face and voiced her concern like a TV mother.
- "A-Ahm fine!" Paige squeaked, being taken aback by the suddenness of it all.
- It came as a surprise to Paige that she didn't feel as uncomfortable as she should have, given the way the girl was disregarding her personal space, patting her down, and acting like some kind of parent despite looking about the same age as her. An ugly, dark thought formed in the back of her mind, hinting at why her guard was down now, of all times.
- With a sudden jolt of action, Paige grabbed the girl's hands and pried them loose, freeing herself. She took a couple of steps back, and the previously warm sensation on her cheeks started to feel more like she'd been touched by acid. "He wasn't gonna do nothin', so can you... undo whatever the hell you did?" She asked, noticeably averting her eyes.
