  1. SUMMARY: marifa comes to poke the new arrival, and makes friends with nakiri, and it's all very adorable because nakiri has never had nice things

  4. [04:52] -- curatorialInsight [CI] makes a habit of going and meeting NEW PEOPLE who arrive in the mansion, whenever she can. Because if they're in the mansion, she can talk to them. That's the rules. --
  5. [04:53] -- curatorialInsight [CI] will, therefore, knock on the door to the fresh blood's dwelling. Well, one of them. Or lots of them. Either is fine, really. --
  6. [04:54] -- timidMantis [TM] opens the door just a crack to see who is knocking --
  7. [04:54] CI: Hell(o)!
  8. [04:54] -- curatorialInsight [CI] smiles, with a bright expression. She has LEARNT ABOUT SMILING. It is very important. --
  9. [04:55] TM: u-um hello...
  10. [04:56] CI: Y(o)u're new, yes? I live here t(o)(o). Can I c(o)me in?
  11. [04:56] -- timidMantis [TM] opens the door, allowing her in --
  12. [04:57] -- curatorialInsight [CI] slips inside, making sure her cloak follows her and doesn't get in the way. --
  13. [05:00] CI: I'm Marifa! Marifa Malika. I d(o)n't kn(o)w if y(o)u've met the mistress (o)f the h(o)use yet. Her name is Medusa Denasu but y(o)u mustn't call her that, she gets rather agitated.
  14. [05:00] CI: Wh(o) are y(o)u? Why were y(o)u br(o)ught here? And why aren't y(o)u wearing any c(o)l(o)urs?

  16. [05:03] TM: i-i am apparently p-part of the Mistress's collection now...

  24. [05:08] CI: Are y(o)u a mutant? (O)h, this is s(o) very exciting. There were s(o) /few/ texts (o)n mutati(o)n at the library. I've heard things ab(o)ut it, here and there, but -

  26. [05:08] -- timidMantis [TM] takes her eyes off of her feet for the first time during this conversation, revealing her bright red irises --
  27. [05:08] -- curatorialInsight [CI] gasps. She doesn't seem revolted, though. She seems /curious/. --
  28. [05:09] CI: D(o)es it hurt?
  29. [05:09] TM: n-no...
  30. [05:10] -- curatorialInsight [CI] seems to remember something and straightens back up out of Nakiri's space. Right, right. People /don't/ like you to invade their personal space. Right. --
  31. [05:10] CI: But it's s(o) bright. D(o)es it d(o) anything differently?
  32. [05:11] TM: n-not really, no...
  33. [05:12] CI: H(o)w did y(o)u survive? The texts suggest that mutancy wasn't t(o)lerated. (O)h, but that was a l(o)ng time ag(o). Have the p(o)licies changed?

  35. [05:13] TM: i b-believe i am only alive b-because of the Mistress's intrest in my b-blood...
  36. [05:13] -- curatorialInsight [CI] balls up the fabric of her cloak in her hands as she watches Nakiri with fascination. --
  37. [05:14] CI: S(o) y(o)u must have lived a daring life (o)f intrigue in (o)rder t(o) escape the d(o)minant auth(o)rity! Well, until y(o)u were caught, I supp(o)se. Because y(o)u were caught, weren't y(o)u?
  38. [05:14] CI: Much like I was, I supp(o)se. The Mistress certainly d(o)es have a wide sphere (o)f influence, taking us fr(o)m Alternia. It's interesting, isn't it?

  40. [05:15] -- curatorialInsight [CI] tilts her head. --
  41. [05:15] CI: Well, y(o)u're still alive!
  42. [05:15] CI: That's s(o)mething t(o) celebrate.

  44. [05:16] CI: If y(o)u die, y(o)u're dead. Y(o)u can't learn anything new. It's just the end.
  45. [05:16] CI: D(o)n't y(o)u want t(o) be alive?
  46. [05:18] TM: i-i'm just g-glad that i can be useful...
  47. [05:21] CI: I suspect y(o)u'll be exceedingly useful. Y(o)u're the first mutant I've met since I arrived here. Well, t(o) be exact, the first I've ever met!
  48. [05:22] CI: Y(o)u d(o)n't have t(o) be frightened. She's quite g(o)(o)d t(o) unique pe(o)ple like us.

  50. [05:23] -- curatorialInsight [CI] nods and smiles. --
  51. [05:23] CI: I'm n(o)t supp(o)sed t(o) be here either. I'm supp(o)sed t(o) be back (o)n Alterina. But, well, when I was apprehended, I supp(o)se she learned ab(o)ut me, and instead (o)f being executed (o)r sent d(o)wn t(o) tend the M(o)ther Grub I g(o)t put (o)n a ship.
  52. [05:24] CI: The trip was really quite awful but it's quite nice here.
  53. [05:24] CI: S(o) d(o)n't w(o)rry, (o)kay? I'm sure she'll be nice t(o) y(o)u.

  64. [05:39] CI: But y(o)u're tearing up. Is there dust in the air? (O)r was it s(o)mething I said?

  68. [05:45] CI: Is it unusual? I'm t(o)ld I'm unusual. But I d(o)n't see it as being terribly unusual. Every(o)ne's very interesting and has interesting things t(o) say, there's n(o)thing unusual ab(o)ut that.

  70. [05:52] -- curatorialInsight [CI] blinks, looking down in surprise. Physical... contact? After she gets a moment to process it, she worms a hand out of her cloak to pat Nakiri on the shoulder. --

I d(o)n't kn(o)w if I can make any(o)ne else be nice t(o) y(o)u because usually pe(o)ple d(o)n't really listen t(o) me ab(o)ut much because I d(o)n't think pe(o)ple are listening t(o) me in the first place much when I speak but I'll be nice t(o) y(o)u.
