At the start of the show, Foley and Owen cut a promo in the ring, wearing matching Hart Foundation gear.

"Owen, Foley A Deux is just 6 days away, and I gotta say, I am primed and ready to defend this title, in none other than HISTORICAL MADISON SQUARE GARDEN! The arena where you had one of your most memorable matches, against your own brother Bret Hart! The arena where I first realized that I loved the art or professional wrestling! And when I beat Stone Cold and retain this title, and you beat Kazuya Okada and prove that as good as he may be, he's no Owen Hart, our names will be in the history books! The Hart Foundation will stand tall!"

Kazuya Okada's music hit, and he entered with Goldust holding the Title of Excellence for the crowd to see.

"Ha! You fool! You absolute fool! You think your pathetic Hart Foundation can stand against the might of Ted DiBiase's Money Inc? Look! We have taken a world champion, and subjugated him completely! This is the man who took the WWF Title from you, and you think you will fare any better? At Foley A Deux, I will embarass you so thouroughly, you will be ashamed to call yourself a Hart!"

By this time, Okada, Goldust, and Funk were in the ring as well, and Owen rebutted.

"That's a lot of talk, but I don't see you backing it up. How about you give us a little taste? You and any member of Money Inc. vs these two Harts? Or will you be too busy backstage fixing up your hairdo?"

Okada cackled. "I can prove it just fine! Because tonight, I will fight alongside a man every bit Mick Foley's equal, the man who took him to the edge of sanity! I will fight alongside TERRY FUNK!"

The match was set, and Okada walked off cackling as the lights dimmed and another Giant pretape played.
