Episode 25
Battered Mazin


(Scene starts on the map screen of the Photon Power Lab. Tetsuya is surrounded by Mechanical Beasts and Magma Beasts while Baron Ashura and Garuda watch from afar.)

鉄也
「うおおおおおっ!!」
Tetsuya: HHHRAAAAGH!!

(Tetsuya destroys the enemies surrounding him.)

ガルーダ
「忌々しきグレートマジンガーめ。
この大軍を以てしても、まだ倒れぬとは」
Garuda: Great Mazinger is most vexing. Even with this great army, it has yet to fall.

(Garuda has a different appearance, but is still the Combattler V Garuda.)

あしゅら男爵
「…フフ、そうでもないようだぞ」
Baron Ashura: ...Heh heh, but it looks like he’s on his last leg.

(Great Mazinger sparks.)

鉄也
「うぐっ…!」
Tetsuya: Ugh...!

弓教授
「もう下がりたまえ、鉄也君!
これ以上の戦闘は君の生命が危ない!」
Prof. Yumi: Please, stand down, Tetsuya! If you fight anymore, your life will be at risk!

鉄也
「そ…そうはいきませんよ、教授…。
ジュンのビューナスが倒れた今、
」ここで俺とグレートが退いたら、誰がここを守るんです…
Tetsuya: Th...That’s not going to happen, Professor... With Jun’s Venus defeated, who will protect this place if Great and I were to back down...?

鉄也
「偉大な勇者は決して倒れない…!
それを見せてやります!」
Tetsuya: A great hero never falls...! As I’ll show you right now!

ジュン
「鉄也…」
Jun: Tetsuya...

(The screen shakes.)

ガルーダ
「むっ、何事だ?」
Garuda: Hm? What’s that?

もりもり博士
「研究所上空に重力異常を確認」
Dr. Morimori: We’ve confirmed a gravity anomaly over the lab.

のっそり博士
「これは前にグラフディンが
やってきた時と同じじゃ」
Dr. Nossori: It’s the same as when the Grafdin appeared.

ジュン
「じゃあ…!」
Jun: Then...!

(All 4 battleships, the player’s team, Mazinger Z, Didarion, and Meg appear.)

ブライト
「くっ、何が起こった!?」
Bright: Ugh! What happened!?

甲児
「こ、ここは…光子力研究所!?
まさか俺たちの世界に帰って来たのか!?」
Koji: Th-This is...the Photon Power Lab!? Does this mean we came back to our world!?

ガルーダ
「今の反応、時空跳躍か…!
となれば奴らは並行世界からの…!」
Garuda: That reaction just now was a space-time leap...! They must have come from a parallel world...!

あしゅら男爵
「むう! 奴らの中にいるあれは…!」
Baron Ashura: Yes! And with them is...!

鉄也
「マジンガーZ…か…」
Tetsuya: It’s...Mazinger Z...

甲児
「あれは…マジンガーなのか?」
Koji: Is that...a Mazinger?

弓教授
「甲児君!
そのマジンガーに乗っているのは、
甲児君だな!?」
Prof. Yumi: Koji! Is it you in that Mazinger, Koji!?

甲児
「弓教授…!」
Koji: Professor Yumi...!

さやか
「お父様、敵の攻撃を受けているの!?」
Sayaka: Father, are you being attacked by the enemy!?

(The enemies attack.)

マリュー
「くっ…!」
Murrue: Ugh...!

あしゅら男爵
「何者かは知らぬが、
マジンガーZが一緒にいる以上は
放ってはおけぬ!」
Baron Ashura: I don’t know who they are, but so long as Mazinger Z is with them, we can’t let them go!

ガルーダ
「マジンガーとコン・バトラーV以外の連中は捕らえ、
その技術を解析してくれようぞ!」
Garuda: We will capture all of them except Mazinger Z and Combattler V, and analyze their technology!

ミサト
「どうやら我々を敵だと認識したようですね」
Misato: So apparently they see us as enemies.

オルガ
「チッ、いきなり面倒事に巻き込まれるなんざ、
冗談じゃねえ…!」
Orga: Oh come on, we literally just got here! This isn’t even funny...!

弓教授
「すまない、甲児君。
見ての通り研究所は敵の襲撃を受けている。
力を借りることはできるか?」
Prof. Yumi: I’m sorry, Koji. But as you can see, the laboratory is under attack. May I have your assistance?

甲児
「わかりました…!」
Koji: You got it...!

ジュン
「鉄也は下がって!
グレートマジンガーはもう限界よ」
Jun: Tetsuya, come back! Great Mazinger is already at its limit!

鉄也
「あ…ああ…」
Tetsuya: R...Right...

(Great Mazinger leaves the map.)

メグ
「あ、あの巨人がいない…!
ディーダリオンは!?」
Meg: Th-That titan isn’t here...! Didarion, are you okay!?

ディーダリオン
「だ、大丈夫だ…。
まだ戦うことはできる…!
お前は…俺が守る!」
Didarion: I-I’m fine... I can still fight...! I’ll...protect you!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(Battle 1 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

ハルト
「な…なんとか倒せたけど…」
Haruto: We... We beat them somehow, but...

甲児
「どうせこれで終わりじゃないんだろ!?
出てくるんならさっさとしやがれ!」
Koji: This isn’t over yet, right!? If you’re gonna come out, then just come out already!

(Baron Ashura and Garuda enter the map.)

あしゅら男爵
「フフフ、死地にありながらも
戦う意志をなおも絶やさぬとは、
さすがは兜甲児」
Baron Ashura: Hahaha, most commendable of you to retain your fighting spirit, Koji Kabuto, even as you face certain death.

ガルーダ
「よくぞ持ち堪えたと言うべきだが、
おかげでお前たちの戦いは充分に見ることができた!」
Garuda: I will say that you’ve persevered splendidly, but I’ve seen enough of your resistance!


(Scene ends.)

(Next scene picks up where it left off except the map is now full of Mechanical/Magma Beasts.)


ガルーダ
「並行世界の兵器といえども恐るるに足らず!
我らの威力を前にひれ伏すがいい!」
Garuda: We fear not even the weapons of parallel worlds! Bow before our might!

あしゅら男爵
「ふははははは!
仇敵どもを一掃するチャンス、
決して逃しはせんぞ!」
Baron Ashura: Mwahahahaha! This is our chance to eradicate our bitter enemies! One that we will not let slip through our grasps!

ハルト
「まだあんなに…」
Haruto: Here we go again...

デビルマン
「やれやれ、俺たちは働き者だぜ…ッ!」
Devilman: Good grief, we’re working hard today...!

ガルーダ
「ならばすぐに休ませてやろう!
お前たちの死という形でな!」
Garuda: In that case, you would do well to rest! Eternally!

豹馬
「くっ、俺たちを舐めるんじゃねえぞ、
ガルーダ…!」
Hyoma: Grr! Don’t you look down on us, Garuda...!

(Battle 2 begins.)

(Battle 2 ends if either Garuda or Baron Ashura are defeated.)


DIALOGUE BRANCH


(If Garuda is defeated.)

ガルーダ
「ぐっ…死に損ないどものどこにあんな力が…!」
Garuda: Agh... How can ones so close to death still hold so much power...!?

豹馬
「見たか…ガルーダめ…」
Hyoma: How’d you like that...Garuda...?

あしゅら男爵
「ガルーダの奴め、ふがいない。
だが私は違うぞ!」
Baron Ashura: That Garuda is such a disappointment. But I am not!

(Baron Ashura rushes Mazinger Z.)

美和
「グールが…!」
Uzuki: The Ghoul is—!

あしゅら男爵
「一切の油断も慢心もせん!
確実に兜甲児を倒してみせよう!」
Baron Ashura: You must be full of yourself to let your guard down like this! Now I’ll do away with you for good!

(Baron Ashura attacks Koji.)

甲児
「ぐうっ…!」
Koji: Ugh...!

さやか
「甲児君!?」
Sayaka: Koji!?

あしゅら男爵
「終わりだ!
あの世へ逝くがいい、兜甲児!」
Baron Ashura: I’m not done! I’ll send you to the other side, Koji Kabuto!

(Baron Ashura attacks Koji again.)

甲児
「くっ…!」
Koji: Agh...!

(Baron Ashura is suddenly attacked.)

あしゅら男爵
「ぬおおっ!?な、何事だ…!?」
Baron Ashura: Gaah! Wh-What was that...!?

(Great Mazinger appears.)

鉄也
「お…お前たちの思い通りにさせんぞ…」
Tetsuya: I...I won’t let everything go your way...

あしゅら男爵
「グレートマジンガーだと…!?」
Baron Ashura: Great Mazinger again...!?

ガルーダ
「どうやらここまでのようだな。
撤退するぞ、あしゅら男爵」
Garuda: It seems this is all we can accomplish. Withdraw, Baron Ashura.

あしゅら男爵
「おのれ…あと一息というところで!
覚えているがいい!」
Baron Ashura: Damn you... We were so close! I’ll remember this!

(If Baron Ashura is defeated.)

あしゅら男爵
「くっ、ぬかった!
奴らにここまで戦える力があったとは…」
Baron Ashura: Ugh! I made a miscalculation! To think they would still have the strength to fight on...

鋼鉄ジーグ
「油断してるからそんな目に遭うんだよ!」
Steel Jeeg: This is what happens when you’re careless!

ガルーダ
「口ほどにもないな、あしゅら男爵。
あのような疲弊している連中など…!」
Garuda: All bark and no bite, Baron Ashura. However, they are most certainly winded...!

(Garuda rushes Mazinger Z.)

チャム
「いけない!
甲児が狙われてるわよ!」
Cham: Oh no! He’s going after Koji!

ガルーダ
「まずはマジンガーZ!
貴様から血祭りにあげてくれるわ!」
Garuda: I shall start with Mazinger Z! Your blood shall be the first to spill!

(Garuda attacks Koji.)

甲児
「ぐうっ…!」
Koji: Ugh...!

さやか
「甲児君!?」
Sayaka: Koji!?

ガルーダ
「終わりだな、マジンガーZ!」
Garuda: It’s the end for you, Mazinger Z!

(Garuda attacks Koji again.)

甲児
「くっ…!」
Koji: Agh...!

(Garuda is suddenly attacked.)

ガルーダ
「ぐああっ!?な、何事だ…!?」
Garuda: Gwaagh!? Wh-What was that...!?

鉄也
「お…お前たちの思い通りにさせんぞ…」
Tetsuya: I...I won’t let everything go your way...

ガルーダ
「グレートマジンガーだと…!?」
Garuda: Great Mazinger again...!?

あしゅら男爵
「詰めが甘いのは貴様も同じだったようだな。
撤退するぞ、ガルーダ」
Baron Ashura: It seems your no better at finishing the job than I. We’re retreating, Garuda.

ガルーダ
「おのれ…あと一息というところで!
この借り、必ず返してくれる!」
Garuda: Blast it all... We were so close! I swear to repay this disgrace!


DIALOGUE BRANCH ENDS


(Garuda and Baron Ashura leave the map.)

「敵が退いていく…」
Kira: The enemy retreated...

鉄也
「ふ…ふふ…やって…やったぜ…」
Tetsuya: Ha...haha... I...did it...

(Great Mazinger sparks.)

甲児
「! グレートマジンガー…!?」
Koji: ! Great Mazinger...!?

跌也
「………」
Tetsuya: ...

(Tetsuya’s face is shaded, to show he’s unconscious.)

弓教授
「いかん!!
すぐにグレートを回収するんだ!!」
Prof. Yumi: Oh no!! Retrieve Great at once!!

甲児
「グレートマジンガー…
あんな状態で、俺たちを助けるために…」
Koji: Great Mazinger... Even in your condition, you still rescued us...

Photon Power Lab – Infirmary

「………」
Tetsuya: ...

サキミ
「彼が…」
Sakimi: He’s...

さやか
「剣鉄也さん。
あのマジンガーZの兄弟機、
グレートマジンガーのパイロットだそうよ」
Sayaka: Tetsuya Tsurugi. The pilot of Great Mazinger, the brother machine to Mazinger Z.

ショウ
「マジンガーZの兄弟機だって?」
Show: Mazinger Z’s brother machine?

さやか
「お父様の話では、
甲児君のお祖父様が残された設計図を元に、
造り上げていた物だって…」
Sayaka: According to my father, the blueprints that Koji’s grandfather left behind served as the basis for its construction...

宙
「甲児のじいさんが…
どうりでマジンガーに似てるわけだぜ」
Hiroshi: From Koji’s old man... It’s no wonder it looks like Mazinger then.

甲児
「おじいちゃんが遺した、
もうひとつのマジンガー…」
Koji: Another Mazinger, left behind by my granddad...

豹馬
「なんだよ、そんなのがあるんなら、
もっと早く出してくれりゃあ良かったのによ」
Hyoma: Well what the heck? If you had that thing lying around, you guys should have brought it out sooner.

ジュン
「元々私と鉄也は
まだ戦いに出る予定ではなかったのよ」
Jun: Originally, Tetsuya and I weren’t planned to join the fight just yet.

サキミ
「あなたは?」
Sakimi: Who are you?

ジュン
「炎ジュンよ。
グレートマジンガーのサポートロボット、
ビューナスAのパイロットを務めているわ」
Jun: Jun Hono. I serve as the pilot for Venus A, Great Mazinger’s support robot.

さやか
「鉄也さんもジュンさんも、
お父様が今後の激しくなる戦いに備えて、
密かに育てていたのよ」
Sayaka: Both Tetsuya and Jun were trained in secret by my father, for the fierce battles that were still to come.

ジュン
「あなたたちがいなくなった後も、
地下帝国や他の組織は変わらず
侵略行為を続けてきたわ」
Jun: Even after you all disappeared, the Underground Empire and other organizations remained, continuing to further their evil deeds.

ジュン
「そこで弓教授は、
やむを得ず私たちを実戦に投入したの」
Jun: That’s why Professor Yumi was left with no choice but to put us into action.

宙
「その割には、さっきの戦いで
あんたの機体は見えなかったみたいだが?」
Hiroshi: But then why didn’t we see your machine in the battle earlier?

ジュン
「私のビューナスは、
あなたたちが戻ってくる前の戦いで
ひどくやられてしまったのよ…」
Jun: My Venus was severely damaged in battle before you had returned...

ジュン
「そのせいで鉄也に負担まで…」
Jun: Because of that, Tetsuya had to shoulder the burden on his own...

「…剣さんの容態は?」
Chizuru: ...How is Mr. Tsurugi’s condition?

ジュン
「一命は取り留めたけれど、まだ意識が戻らないわ」
Jun: He’s avoided death, but he has yet to regain consciousness.

サキミ
「私たちが見たグレートマジンガーはボロボロでした。
研究所を守るために、必死に戦ったんですね…」
Sakimi: Great Mazinger looked like it was in tatters. He fought desperately, all to protect the laboratory...

ジュン
「この戦いだけじゃないわ。
これまで鉄也は最前線で戦い続けてきた。
もう限界だったのよ…」
Jun: Not just for this battle. He’s been continually fighting on the front lines. He was already at his limit...

ジュン
「なのに鉄也…みんなを助けるために、
私たちの制止を振り切って…」
Jun: And yet Tetsuya... He shrugged it off, to save us all...

明
「助けるつもりが、
逆に助けられちまうとはな」
Akira: Now the one that was trying to save others, needed to be saved himself.

豹馬
「俺たちに負けず劣らず、無茶な奴みたいだな」
Hyoma: The guy sounds just as reckless as we are.

宙
「剣鉄也…
グレートマジンガーのパイロットか…」
Hiroshi: Tetsuya Tsurugi... The pilot of Great Mazinger...

甲児
「鉄也さん…ゆっくり休んでくれ」
Koji: Tetsuya... Rest easy.

甲児
「あんたが守ってくれた平和は、
俺たちが引き継いで守っていくぜ」
Koji: This world is still at peace because of you, and we’re gonna make sure it stays that way.
