- (If I misunderstand you, you can answer me anytime, okay? Sorry. I had to rewrite this comment 3 times because of my English and Reddit blocking me)
- Yeah, I read your answer now [https://www.alislam.org/articles/death-of-hazrat-jesus/], but it forces an interpretation over phrases like "took me" or "Jesus' time ended on Earth", which most probably refer to ascension and not death. No one would reach the conclusion of Jesus dying in India just with these verses.
- The main problem originally was:
- "He [Jesus] was saved from being killed, and went to HEAVEN, and is in heaven waiting for the second coming — How did Jesus go somewhere else (ex: India) if he went to heaven, and is there since he was saved [from crucifixion]?".
- It didn't answer the main problem, just denied the common interpretation.
- I mean, you have your right to interpret it that way, but we should have evidence and not just guessing. One should imagine that the Qur'an would talk about this "secret information" or about this very important Mahdi and his teachings.
- About the saying
- "If Jesus is alive today, he must be more than a mortal [messenger]",
- well, in heaven there's no death. God could make exceptions, like with Elijah.
- The Messiah is a special figure, not just a dude who claim to be the Messiah, but the Jewish figure who must stay ALIVE and come back to become a king of the Earth. That's why Jesus is expected to return, because God would preserve him.
- (To Muslims, he could come back and still die a normal death, and to Christians he already died and came back [with a glorious body])
- About the 3 questions, they try to force the idea that the alive Jesus in heaven has to behave like the alive Jesus on Earth. The passage in 19:31-4 is simply stating Jesus' nature and mission on Earth. In heaven, he would be waiting to come back and finish the other part of his mission, where he is the Messiah [anointed one, king]:
- The article said:
- - If he was still alive, he would have to give alms in heaven, but who would need alms there?
- - If he would descend again to earth alive, he would have to follow the Jewish prescriptions on both prayer and alms-giving – and could not be a follower of Islamic law.
- - Did his mother accompany him to heaven physically? How could he otherwise behave like a dutiful son towards her?
- (This is trying to make it [Quran 19] too literal. This last problem is also non-existent in Catholicism and Orthodox Christianity)
- About "The same Hazrat Jesus (as) will not appear a second time in this world, as he would then become aware that Christians had now taken his mother as Divine", well, that's problematic, and also a problem to the Muslim doctrine I was not aware.
- It's historically believed that Jesus stated that he will come back someday, and Islam mentions Jesus' presence as a sign in the end times.
- The Qur'an shows this conversation between Jesus and Allah as happening in the Judgment Day. "I was a witness over them as long as I remained among them" seems to be implying his knowledge during the first mission and what he asked them to do, not anything about Jesus being unaware of Christianity, or the second coming never happening.
- + Christians, differently from some pagans in Arabia, NEVER take Mary as a goddess. This is a completely horrifying misunderstanding. Some Christians may ask for the people in heaven to pray for them, and this "asking" is being confused with "praying to a God". It's not.
- It's like if you asked me to pray for you, and believed I would still pray for you when I'm alive in heaven with God.
- Mary is explicitly a CREATURE to all Christians, even to the Roman Catholics. She just prays from heaven, and she's also not part of the Trinity [as some Muslims claim because of the Qur'an].
