  1. [20:32] Aspen Invidia says, "I saw Fethi and someone else in the ice caves, Zendrick."
  2. [20:32] Zendrick Boreale asks, "Coming here?"
  3. [20:32] Aspen Invidia says, "I'm unsure."
  4. [20:32] Aspen Invidia says, "You need to lay low, but I brought your cloak with me."
  5. [20:33] {Item} You drop Heavy Cloak - Blue.
  6. [20:33] Zendrick Boreale says, "I've been waiting outside the lab. A-"
  7. [20:33] Zendrick Boreale says, "Now THIS is what i'm talking about."
  8. [20:34] Zendrick makes a big deal out of putting the coat on. It was always the perfect fit, a perfect blend of style and functionality.
  9. (Zendrick Boreale)
  10. [20:34] Zendrick Boreale asks, "Did you catch who else he was with?"
  11. [20:34] Aspen Invidia says, "Hah! I've been wearing it for awhile."
  12. [20:34] Aspen Invidia says, "An ookami was."
  13. [20:35] Zendrick Boreale asks, "Teal shirt?"
  14. [20:35] Aspen Invidia asks, "Mm.. greenish?"
  15. [20:35] Zendrick Boreale says, "It was Canna. "
  16. [20:35] Zendrick Boreale says, "They're off probably having sex. "
  17. [20:35] Aspen Invidia says, "Aye, I'm unsure of who-"
  18. [20:35] Aspen Invidia says, "Eh.. in the ice caverns? They must want to get caught."
  19. [20:36] Zendrick Boreale says, "<Fuckin` Degenerate.>"
  20. [20:36] Zendrick Boreale says, "Well, Neo's around here. "
  21. [20:36] Aspen Invidia says, "Mm.. I've to speak with him soon. I've begun to learn about riftmancy."
  22. [20:36] Zendrick Boreale says, "Did Dylerun teach you? "
  23. [20:36] Zendrick Boreale says, "I remember him talking about doing classes. "
  24. [20:36] Aspen Invidia says, "No. I doubt Dawn's people are going to teach a thrall anything."
  25. [20:36] Zendrick Boreale asks, "Then who was teaching you?"
  26. [20:36] Aspen Invidia says, "Lord Malentine. This was before I found out where you were."
  27. [20:38] Aspen Invidia says, "My first lesson. The rest is up to me."
  28. [20:38] Zendrick Boreale says, "I'd say he's given you the basics at least. "
  29. [20:38] Aspen Invidia says, "Aye, he had. We should take cover for now while Fethi and Canna are around."
  30. [20:39] Aspen Invidia says, "I don't wish for any trouble, especially involving me."
  31. [20:39] Zendrick Boreale says, "Canna isn't a problem. "
  32. [20:39] Zendrick Boreale says, "She's a non-combatant."
  33. [20:39] Zendrick Boreale says, "But, the house it is."
  34. [20:41] Zendrick leans back in the chair, propping both feet up on the table, and balances a small dagger of his own blood in his fingers, rapidly shaping and un-shaping it between liquid forms and a small blade.
  35.
  36. "I've been practicing this all day. Actually making blades out of my own blood. Might come in handy."
  37. (Zendrick Boreale)
  38. [20:46] "That's what I've been doing because I saw you do it," she responds, laughing as the massive, thin blade made purely of her own crystallized blood is produce from her side.
  39.
  40. "Lady Priscilla once told me about sharpening your inner weapons. It was a figurative phrase, but I made it out to be real. The idea wouldn't never struck me until battling you in the plains before you fled."
  41.
  42. The young woman jabs at the air with her vitae blade.
  43.
  44. "This will come in handy when I begin performing riftmancy. First.. I've to imagine something physical, like a manifestation of the lifestream tangibly. Break into with enough mana.
  45.
  46. What do you think? Maybe this should be the first of my attempts, hm?"
  47.
  48. The woman smiled towards her brother, stepping forward from the table and staring outward as if leering at a tangible threshold before her, yet nothing was there.
  49. (Aspen Invidia)
  50. [20:47] Zendrick Boreale says, "What, like the little blade? "
  51. [20:47] Zendrick Boreale says, "Oh, you mean making a rift."
  52. [20:47] Aspen Invidia says, "The rift, yes."
  53. [20:47] Zendrick Boreale says, "Sure, give it a whirl. "
  54. [21:07] "Great! The risk of riftmancy is immense. It's a messier form of chaotic energy that I'll have to work to manifest. Prepare yourself for either something awful." Aspen shrugged, looking away from the man.
  55.
  56. "Or nothing at all."
  57.
  58. The blade was held forward, pointed towards the envisioned, tangible wall of the lifestream. The aim was to break through its barrier and muster up something whether successful or not.
  59.
  60. Trial and Error.
  61.
  62. Mana worked to surge between the wiring of the Invidia's circuits, aimed for her hands, traveling along the length of her vitae formed sword. Pure energy swirled, illuminating the dimly lit area. Even the woman's eyes glowed faintly.
  63.
  64. Second by second, an unstoppable flow of mana surged cascaded Aspen. Her stare never broke from imagination, nor did her blade move an inch. Power circulated in her unbroken concentration greater than she'd felt before. Every bit of mana that crawled between her circuits blossomed in her grasp.
  65.
  66. Aspen was attempting to peek through the physical boundaries of the lifestream. Of Eternia itself and insert her blade through it like an animal meeting the hunter in its final moments of living.
  67.
  68. The illumination of the room brightened by the woman's incredible flow of mana.
  69.
  70. Slowly the blade was inched forward.
  71.
  72. The tip of it broke through something intangible before their eyes, especially Zendrick's, but to Aspen? She was forcing her blood through the envisioned boundary, aiming to crack open the lifestream with every ounce of mana mustered for it.
  73.
  74. A cool flow of energy from the rift flooded in vaguely. An uneasiness of whatever barrier her blade had broken was too extreme. An odd vibration along her sword, suddenly everything grew entirely silent all her around until..
  75.
  76. Aspen's blade shattered. An explosion occurred, sending the woman away from where she stood. Shards of her crystallized blood went all over the place. Whatever barrier Aspen broke was forced close and fixed by Eternia.
  77.
  78. The tired woman lay on the ground, unaffected by her own blood which pierced in her skin. Widened eyes and a gaping maw stared towards the source of explosion. Aspen's mana no longer flowed, but from the beads of sweat, she was quite tired from the first attempt.
  79. (Aspen Invidia)
  80. [21:08] Zendrick Boreale exclaims, "Woah SHIT!"
  81. [21:10] Aspen Invidia says, "It was too much for me to handle.. in time, I'll perfect it."
  82. [21:10] Zendrick Boreale exclaims, "You cut fucking reality itself!"
  83. [21:10] Zendrick Boreale says, "You've got some serious edge, Aspen. "
  84. [21:10] Aspen Invidia says, "That's what I was hoping I'd have done. It takes a lot out of you. I don't believe I used all of my mana for it. I'll have to try harder next time."
  85. [21:13] Aspen Invidia says, "Next time.. after I rest."
  86. [21:15] Zendrick Boreale says, "I'd say that was a good attempt. "
  87. [21:15] Zendrick Boreale says, "For whatever that was, not like I could actually judge. "
  88. [21:16] Zendrick slings the small blade of blood at the wall. It impacts and dematerializes back into blood, which lazily makes it's way back to Zendrick.
  89.
  90. "For now, at least, I'll stick to my knives and blades. I might be onto something."
  91.
  92. (Zendrick Boreale)
  93. [21:23] The mahogany hues of the woman no longer illuminated from the immense flow of mana. They gazed out, eyeing piece after piece of her ichor, like shattered glass, laying across the floor. Then a glance to herself. Exposed skin caught plenty of the shards, bleeding Aspen slightly.
  94.
  95. The girl rose from the ground slowly, staring outward towards the imaginative barrier. For her it was almost palpable. Her belief for its appearance was strong, but to perfect what Riftmancy was, and knitting together the portals between two separate places, Aspen knew more concentration, more mana, more belief, and more practice were required.
  96.
  97. "Onto something? What might that be?" She questions, gazing towards her brother while dusting away the shards in her skin carefully, cleansing away the damage with water and solidifying her veins below.
  98. (Aspen Invidia)
  99. [21:26] Zendrick Boreale says, "Well, a while ago, I did a little bit of blacksmithing training. It wasn't a whole lot, but I understand the basics."
  100. [21:26] Aspen Invidia asks, "Are you thinking about infusing your blood into a real, metallic blade?"
  101. [21:27] Zendrick Boreale says, "Not quite. "
  102. [21:28] Aspen Invidia asks, "Oh? What of it then?"
  103. [21:36] Zendrick stands, and takes a step or two from the table. He rolls up his sleeves, and clenches his gauntlet on his right hand. With his prosthetic, he draws the blood out from him, shaping it while it is still liquid. A blade is produced, slender and incredibly thin.
  104.
  105. "See, crystalizing your blood can make it sharp, but incredibly brittle. You're not going to get anything that can match another blade. But..."
  106.
  107. The lines of energy blaze across his body, turning from black to burning red. This energy extends itself to the newly created blade, forming it's own set of lines across the weapon.
  108.
  109. "Energy is innately tied to melee combat. It flourishes with the blade. With a bit of stress, I can extend my own lines of energy with this blade, since it's technically an extension of my own body."
  110.
  111. He takes a few practice swings with it, swiping at the air around him.
  112.
  113. "It's a little stressful, but this is an incredibly sharp piece of equipment. Of course, it'll turn back into mana and blood once I let go of it, but it's quite potent for something made of my own body."
  114. (Zendrick Boreale)
  115. [21:37] Zendrick Boreale says, "So, with a blade technically in a liquid form, it won't shatter. "
  116. [21:48] Aspen seats herself at the table, crossing one leg over the other while scrutinizing Zendrick's performance, attentive to all he had in regards to the blade of blood.
  117.
  118. "Enough compressed blood won't make it all that brittle, especially with covered with a layer or two of ice magic," she explains.
  119.
  120. "And I can always manipulate the blood to reform as liquid with a swipe of my hand and enough mana to do so."
  121.
  122. It wasn't long that Aspen remained seated where she stood to stand at the side of her brother, extending her arm outward. The cracks of broken skin, not yet healed from the shards before, produced blood amalgamated with the bit of mana she could produce, reforming her blade.
  123.
  124. "All I have to do is picture how I want this blade, and it'll form. Crystallized or not, its shape is what I imagine, and what I make real."
  125.
  126. Noises from the blade sound, cracking and popping while the blade is shrouded within asheet of ice. The tip of the sword and edge are incredibly thin.
  127.
  128. "Ice flourishes with my blade too. Although your form is more pure. Your life blood and pure, raw energy. Yours might always be more potent than mine, but mine will always look better."
  129.
  130. The woman smirked at him, huffing out laughters.
  131. (Aspen Invidia)
  132. [21:49] Zendrick Boreale says, "Pssh. "
  133. [21:50] Zendrick Boreale says, "Even your fancy rift-magic and vampirism can't even compare to my hot-headedness. "
  134. [21:51] Aspen Invidia says, "No, I believe it can."
  135. [21:54] Aspen Invidia says, "I'm going to head back home, Zendrick. Lady Priscilla and I need to discuss some things. I'll purchase you more food in Dawn and bring up here if your supply is getting scarce."
  136. [21:55] Zendrick Boreale says, "Yeah, sure. "
  137. [21:55] Aspen Invidia says, "I'll see you in a few days! Farewell, Zendrick. Stay out of trouble."
  138. [21:55] Zendrick Boreale says, "Stay safe out there. I'm going to see if Neo's around."
  139. [21:55] Aspen Invidia says, "Sure thing."
