- ***Outlast Theory***
- Hello. Today, i am gonna show you my theory, actally theories, about the most famous horror game: Outlast and its DLC,
- The Whistleblower. T
- The first theory is named "Did i create Billy". To find arguments about this theory, i searched threw an eye over the
- Morhogenic Engine room, underground, under the Mount Masive Asilyum. We first get to go inside it, at the end of the
- original game, for the last mission, when we have to kill Billy. But this will not helpl us. I remembered that you get
- in the room, again, at the beggining of the expansion, The Whistleblower. You get in there as Waylon Park, an employee
- of the Murkoff company. While you are sitting on the chair, writing a code for the Morphogenic Engine, you can see that
- the machine has some glass bubbles around it. But everyone of them is empty. Now, this means, that the DLC, in the
- game timeline, is happening before Miles (the character you play with in the original game) arrives at the asilyum.
- When you finish to write the code, a man escorted by some scinetists with rifles, manages to escape them, running
- towards you, stopping by the glass that keeps the workers safe from the potential dangers. The man is screaming to
- you, that you two are not different and you have to help him. At this point, you have to return in the room where the
- games beggins. Okay. So now we know, that the expansion starts before the main game. But one thing we do not know.
- When does it end?
- We know that at the end of the DLC, Park escapes from Mount Massive, with Milles's car. So it definitely ends after
- the original game's begginng. Going back to the main game, when Milles gets in the secret laboratory, he sees an open
- garage, with military trucks in it. Also, at that point, the sun is rising. You can see the same vehicles, when you
- get out at the asilyum, in the end of the expansion. And it is morning, too. When you get in the Morphogenic Engine's
- room with Milles, you can see that only one glass bubble is occupied, by a pacient named Billy Hope. This means, that
- the man screaming to you in the DLC is Billy. Which also means, that you are created the NanoOrganism Machine that
- walks freely through the asilyum.
- Responding to the question about time... Well... we have some thing to base on: The first thing is the presence of
- Jeremy Blaire, the executive from Murkoff. In the main game, you don't get to meet him. We could say that the main game,
- happens right after the DLC's end. But it doesn't. The DLC ends in the morning and the main game starts at night.
- But as the storyline of the game is described by the Red Barrerls, when Blaire is killed by Billy, the "ghost" is
- under control of Miles. So, we have out answer right here. The expansion is ending after the ending of the original game.
- In my opinion, this is a HUGE mistake done by the makers, as the DLC is WAY shorter than the actual game. And though,
- it s longer, as the storyline tells us (beggining before the main game and finishing after the end of the main game).
- But hey! That's just a theory! Thanks for reading!
