“Keep him at a distance!” Superman shouted to three metahumans. He blew a powerful stream of air at Metallo. It was as though a typhoon were concentrated into a single stream aimed at the cyborg. A hail of dirt, rocks, plants, and water blasted him, sounding like a roaring freight train.
Metallo slowed…but put his head down and kept coming.
The metahumans contributed to the assault. Hawkgirl flapped her mighty wings, adding to Superman’s windstorm. Green Lantern projected a green jet engine from his ring, aiming its exhaust straight at the cyborg. And Mister Terrific directed a storm of T-spheres, crackling with energylike bolts of lightning, to whiz through the air at Metallo. RRRROOOOMGGHH!
The combined forces—like a tornado, a hurricane, and an electrical storm combined into one terrifying maelstrom—were too much for Metallo to fight against. Lifted off the ground, the cyborg was blown back half a mile onto a rocky cliff! CRAAAACK! His metal body broke into pieces that fell over the edge and scattered on the ground below.
