  6. Normally one might not notice that his comment has been removed. This is because comments are "shadow-removed". That is, from the perceptive of the poster, the comment is still there. But to the perspective of everybody else, the comment is not there. When this occurs during a conversation, it is very harmful to that conversation. The conversation will die with each participant disappointment, thinking the other did not bother to respond to perse. But the test of whether a comment has been shadow-removed is easy: simply open a private window and load the permalink of the comment. If the comment is visible, then it has not been shadow-removed. If the comment is missing, then it has been shadow-removed (But ensure that you allow it a minute or so to turn up. Sometimes reddit queues comments, so they're not posted immediately).
