  1. == Weak volume on stream
  2.
  3. If you have inputMusic set to an HDMI screen, the windows volume mixer (speaker icon in your tray) will probably affect the stream volume. Turn it the fuck up, all the way. Most other soundcards (PC headphone jack, onboard, usb...) will stream full blast even if the windows volume mixer is turned all the way down.
  4.
  5.
  6.
  7. == Previewing music while streaming
  8.
  9. To do this, you NEED to have more than one audio device. The following all count as different audio devices:
  10. - Laptop built-in speakers
  11. - Headphone jack
  12. - Line-Out jack
  13. - USB headset
  14. - HDMI screen with speakers
  15.
  16. If you use a desktop computer, you probably have a headphone jack and a line-out jack, and you probably have your speakers connected to LineOut. This means you have a spare audio device, the headphone jack, but it's disabled in windows since nothing is connected.
  17.
  18. Find some cheap headphones, connect them, then rightclick the speaker icon in your tray and open Playback Devices. Rightclick the speakers you always use to enjoy music (in this example LineOut) and "Set as Default Device". This means that all media players will play music on your speakers by default, even though you have headphones connected.
  19.
  20. Now, open the media player you will be streaming with (obviously foobar2000) and open settings. Find the Playback/Output tab, and change "Output Device" to your extra audio device (in this example, the headphones).
  21.
  22. Open Loopstream settings, then select your primary/regular speakers in LocalOutput, and the extra device (headphones) in inputMusic. This makes Loopstream broadcast all the audio that's played on your headphones, and everything you play on your regular speakers (using other media players) will only be heard by you.
  23.
  24. You can unmute the fourth volume bar in Loopstream now, "Out", and loopstream will play what it hears on your speakers too. When you want to preview a song, mute the "Out" volume bar to mute the stream, then use a different media player, which will play straight to your speakers, leaving the stream alone.
