  13. And alright, part 7 now lads
  14.
  15. >(P.O.V: Anon)
  16. >It was at least 10 PM currently, barely anyone else was in the store with you other than the clerk
  17. >While you were tired as hell, you wanted to stay up a little longer.
  18. >Charlie hadn't summoned you last night, giving you the best sleep you had in a week.
  19. >But you didn't know how much longer that would last, least she catch you off guard and drag your ass back to the hotel for good.
  20. >The clerk caught your attention with your receipt and how much you had to pay.
  21. >Forking over your cash, you exited the store and began heading back to your apartment.
  22. >You had a good 5 minute drive ahead if you, not too long, but you were still kind of drowsy from whatever spell Charlie had put on you.
  23. >Your hand fished around your pocket before gripping the cold metal of your keys.
  24. >With your car unlocked you began opening the door, praying you get another good night.
  25. >"A-Anon?"
  26. >The voice caught you off-guard, especially who it sounded like
  27. >No way
  28. >It couldn't have been
  29. >You tried rationalizing with yourself that it wasn't her talking to you.
  30. >But then you turned around, and there she stood.
  31. "Stacy?"
  32. >Your ex stood there next to your car, holding some text books in her arms.
  33. >You took another look around, seeing that your car was the only one there.
  34. >Which was odd, since last you checked she lived in the other side of the city.
  35. >Finally Stacy broke the silence
  36. >"Sooo......it's been a while I guess....how've you been?"
  37. >Yep, this was awkward, so awkward you didn't know if this was worst than the nightmares or not.
  38. "Yeah....a year almost.....your still in law school I guess..."
  39. >"Sure am.....are you still doing buisness?"
  40. "Yeah, still have my internship to."
  41. >"Oh, nice"
  42. >And the silver returned
  43. "Well, nice chatting with you Stacy, if you-"
  44. >"Hold on?"
  45. >She stopped you again, whatever Stacy wanted she seemed hesitant about.
  46. >Then she spoke
  47. >"Look, I know you probably still hate me for what's happened, but can you drive me home?"
  48. -
  49. >waitasecond.exe
  50. "What?"
  51. >"My car......I got in an accident, I'm not hurt or anything but my car's too broken down to start. I just need a ride, just for tonight, please Anon."
  52. "Couldn't you just call the police or something."
  53. >"Not now, it's just........can you please, I need someone I can trust right now."
  54. >You looked at her again, still feeling skeptical
  55. >Then you saw her eyes.
  56. >Surrounded by dark circles and bags
  57. >Stacy told you about her condition, her stress induced insomnia that kept her up a lot.
  58. >Seeing it now meant she was serious, something was up.
  59. "Alright, hope in."
  60. >"Thank you, your a lifesaver."
  61. >Then the two of you drove off.
  62.
  63. >The drive ahead of you know was at least more than 20 minutes tops
  64. >And for a good bit of it, the two of you sat in silence again.
  65. >Then Stacy broke it again
  66. >"Hey......did you......know......Mike died?"
  67. "I did, Detective Garret brought me in for questioning."
  68. >"Does he thing you did it?"
  69. "No, I'm pretty sure he doesn't."
  70. >"Okay..."
  71. >Silence reigned again
  72. "I'm not mad anymore about it Stacy."
  73. >You said suddenly, almost shocking yourself with it.
  74. >"Hm?"
  75. "Look, what's happened happened, I'm glad we were both able to move on afterwards."
  76. >"Really?"
  77. "Yeah, you said you were sorry and that's that."
  78. >"Still didn't like how it got there though."
  79. "Me neither"
  80. >"........have you found anyone new yet?"
  81. "No......haven't......you?"
  82. >"Me neither, just been single for a while."
  83. "Is it good?"
  84. >"I guess...."
  85. "Same for me"
  86. >You eventually made it to her apartment.
  87. "Well, looks like we made it."
  88. >Stacy began to get out of the car before stopping.
  89. >"Hey, could you.....walk in with me to?"
  90. "Hm?"
  91. >"Please just, you don't even have to stay for long, hell, just take me to my floor and that'll be good. You won't even have to leave the elevator either."
  92. >You thought for a moment before you answered
  93. "Okay."
  94. >And through the lobby you went, and soon to her room, you decided to follow her there for her sake.
  95. -
  96. >Stacy's apartment was pretty neat, somewhat similar to your own apartment.
  97. >Though in her bedroom, you spotted some of her sleep meds lying around, other than that the place was clean.
  98. >She sat on her couch as you looked around.
  99. "The place looks nice Stace"
  100. >Stacy smiles a little as you said that, your nickname for her while you dated.
  101. >"A clean home makes for a clean mind, heard someone say that once, I forgot who though."
  102. >Your phone's clock read 10:30, you wanted to go back, but you stayed, figuring you should see what was bothering Stacy.
  103. "So, you sure everything's okay with you?"
  104. >"For the most part."
  105. >You both stared at each other
  106. "Your bags say otherwise."
  107. >"Not like you look any better."
  108. >Even with good night you had, you still looked somewhat tired
  109. "I'm just making sure things are fine, not like I want you to get hurt or anything."
  110. >Stacy didn't say anything.
  111. >After a moment you started to get up.
  112. >"Someone's been following me."
  113. >She said quickly and bluntly
  114. "You're joking, Stace you're not being serious are you?"
  115. >"I am."
  116. "Have you told anyone about this? The police, your friends, am I the first person you've told?"
  117. >"Anon it's not that easy, I don't have any proof other than......."
  118. "Other than?"
  119. >"You wouldn't believe me if I told you, you'd think I'm insane."
  120. "Do you know what they look like?"
  121. >"Maybe?"
  122. "What does that mean?"
  123. >"Last night this girl came knocking on my door asking for directions for a certain room, I gave her them and she left, she gave me the creeps the whole time though, like, I was in danger or something."
  124. >Oh no
  125. >Oh god oh fuck
  126. "What did she look like?"
  127. >"Pale skin, and red hair."
  128. >You froze
  129. >She was here
  130. >Thus was bad, this was very bad
  131. >If Charlie didn't know where you lived, she at least had a good idea where you were.
  132. >Worse, she knew where Stacy lived
  133. >Sure, you both broke up with each other and weren't dating anymore, nor did you have any desire to get back together.
  134. >But still, Stacy didn't deserve this.
  135. -
  136. >"Anon?"
  137. >You blinked
  138. >"You okay? You just spaced out there?"
  139. "Uhh yeah, sorry. Just that this is kind of startling, you know?"
  140. >"For me, you the one who was almost murdered a few months back, right?"
  141. "Doesn't make this any less scary, are you sure you can't go to the police?"
  142. >"And tell them I think some stranger I have directions to just last night was stalking me for the past few weeks?"
  143. "Weeks?"
  144. >"The past 2 weeks, she broke my car down just last night"
  145. "Did she leave anything behind? Hair, fingerprints, blood?"
  146. >"She left a decapitated pig had on the roof of my car."
  147. "What about tonight?"
  148. >"Maybe? The car spun out of control in the middle of the road and I hit a tree. I don't even know how I got out with just bruises."
  149. >You put your face in your hands for a moment before you sat up.
  150. "Okay Stace, I believe you alright, and I'll be there for you if you need me. Please, just be careful."
  151. >"You're not leaving yet are you?"
  152. "No, not for a bit."
  153. >"Really? Well, now what?"
  154. >And for the next hour the two of you just sat and talked, catching up on each other's lives and about random stuff.
  155. >In a way, it felt nice talking to Stacy again.
  156. >But you were just, sort of friends, this wasn't going anywhere else.
  157. >Least you two break up again and you wind up depressed yet again.
  158. >At 11:30, the two of you bid each other goodnight and you left.
  159. >The drive home was uneventful
  160. >It wasn't until you got home that something remotely spooky happened
  161. >Out of the corner of your eye, someone spilled a trash can in front of you.
  162. >The person ran off out of sight before you could catch a glimpse of them.
  163. >Despite that, you just kept walking and soon enough, you found yourself showered off and ready for bed
  164. >You were out in seconds, unaware of the pissed off demon princess gloomily walking down below in the parking lot.
  165. -
  166. >(P.O.V: Charlie)
  167. >3 hours later
  168. >You sat alone doing the one thing that always cheered you up.
  169. >Tinkering
  170. >While you were okay with some of the basics when it came to dark magic, you weren't the best.
  171. >But what you lacked in skill, you made up with in your strength and ingenuity.
  172. >If anything, your little brother Damian was better with that magic bull crap.
  173. >The workshop was just more of your scene.
  174. >It always managed to soothe you.
  175. >Even now, after seeing that harlot trying to take away your man.
  176. >Did he forget that she broke his heart, and that she'd probably do it again if they got back together?
  177. >No, No not now
  178. >You already let your anger out in the lobby.
  179. >Niffty, bless her soul, was still in the midst cleaning up all that debris.
  180. >As you tinkered away at your gauntlet, adding in new eyes and replacing the saw blade, in a drawer beside you was the journal entry you stole.
  181. >Your workshop was already well hidden as is, it only made sense to hide it there, so that Anon wouldn't find it.
  182. >Click
  183. >Your gauntlet was all fixed up, and you had a target already in mind.
