  4. Ok just preliminary thoughts. Mostly trying to make sense of it myself. Seems to be about $0C5E at least.
  5.
  6. So basically, in this twitter example, you shoot 2 hookshots (1 glitched 1 normal). The normal one is interrupted in air once the glitched one hits the pot. Since you started a non-misslotted hookshot, the glitched one will pull Link towards its target as if it was a normal hookshot. Now, since you interrupted the normal hookshot, it has become a glitched hookshot.
  7.
  8. Once Link is pulled to the rightmost pot, the new glitched one is activated and starts moving rightwards again.
  9.
  10. If you hookshot BEFORE the reactivated glitched hook hits the pot, the game will start dragging Link from the GLITCHED hookshot instead of the new one, once the glitched hookshot hits the pot.
  11.
  12. But since Link started the glitched hookshot on the left side, and Link is now in the right side, you will get what we call a hookpush. A hookshot pull effect that lasta for longer than what you intended.
  13.
  14. Basically the glitched hookshot will increment $0C5E[4] ($0C62) and even though you start a new hookshot in slot 3 (0C61), it will still use 0C62 once the glitched hookshot hits the pot.
  15. Often it doesnt work because you hit the second condition (or the "barrier" which I called it in the tutorial). But 1/4 pixels should always work.

  19. And then in your second example, you are doing 2 misslots. This causes one of the hookshots to stop before it hits anything. I got this to work just by first misslotting 9 then 8.
  20.
  21. So usually when you misslot hook, it will travel to the target and be detached. But if you misslot twice, then one or both of the hookshots might be detached and freeze BEFORE it hits the target. This is basically an armed hookpush, since you can spend time moving around and use it any time you want. Once you press Y to hookshot again, the glitched hookshots will be reactivated, and the same thing happens - once it hits its target, you change which slot is used for $0C5E, and you get a hookpush (the duration of how far the glitched hookshot has travelled).

  27. Hookpush w/hook misslot. 2 methods:
  28.
  29. 1. Misslot hook (from now on called hook#1)
  30. 2. Do normal hook (hook#2) before hook#1 hits its target.
  31. 3. The hook#1 will hit the pot or w/e which drags Link to it.
  32. At the same time, hook#2 is interrupted.
  33. 4. Once Link arrives at his target (via hook#1), hook#2 is activated again
  34. 5. You simply start a hook before hook#2 hits the pullable target. Can be towards air, doesn't matter. But it can't hit a pullable target before hook#2 does.
  35.
  36. 1. Misslot hook
  37. 2. Misslot hook again, before hook#1 hits target.
  38. 3. hook#1 hits the target and hook#2 should be frozen in-air.
  39. 4. You now have hookpush armed. Move to some cool place and use your hookshot for hookpush.
  40.
  41. For both methods, you will often hit the "barrier" problem due to the nature of this application. So some setups will require you to do the last hook on a pixel perfect place.
  42. The duration and direction for both these methods is decided by hook #2
