I apologize very much for what occurred to you. While we absolutely would prefer you avoid profanity in chat, what should have happened was a warning, followed by a ban + email message after a repeat occurrence. Your anger in the forum at the lack of communication was understandable.

Your ban in chat and the forum has been lifted. I apologize once again for the inconvenience.

Renwaldo claims that he represents all of Canada. I, jokingly, say that such a claim is BS. He says to watch my language and adds a smiley face directly after. By doing that, I interpreted that he was joking about watching my language, so I didn't think that he was actually offended and continued with the joke. When he continued to ask me to stop, I thought that he was still joking.

This is the last record nehp's lurker has of me talking in any way. I did not figure out that I had been reported and subsequently chatbanned until  March 14th, two days ago. Upon discovery of that fact, I posted my (now removed) thread entitled "Invisible in Chat". At first, I simply thought it was a bug, which is why it was in the Bug Reports section of the forum. I later learned that this was the expected result of being chatbanned.

The subsequent posts in that thread were written while I was still angry and confused by the total lack of communication from the person who had chatbanned me, or a developer. I believe those were why I was subsequently banned from the forums. I'm sorry I reacted with little grace, but I was still confused as to why this was happening. Removing it was likely the correct course of action, but again, I did not receive any communication on the forum ban either, simply discovering that it had been placed on me upon trying to access the forums today.

I'm hoping that you can provide some clarification as to why I was banned and whether there are any plans to restore my chat privileges in the future.
