PAGE 1:

1: Creatures such as mermaids and beastmen that we have taken for granted these days were once considered to be mere fantasy in the past.

Aside from the ears and tail, they are completely hairless.
They go into hibernation during the winter. They are very defensive when it comes to their territory, and will bark at anyone who draws near to intimidate them.
The dogs displayed here were actually mother and child in the past.

PAGE 19:

1: I was the one who named this one. // She’s making a scary face right now, but she was a really sweet and obedient doggy.
2: She was originally a wild dog that wandered into the zoo after getting separated from her parents.
3: Since she was still just a baby, she was really scared.
4: A zookeeper quickly came to take care of her and even had the zoo take her in, but...
5: Her bark was so scary that it made me cry.

PAGE 20:

1: Yeah, that zookeeper sure was something else.
2: When she squeezed onto the dog, she mysteriously managed to calm down.
3: I found about this afterward, but she was using a technique called “hold still” that helped the dog become obedient.
4: It was needed to make the dog understand that she was below the owner in their relationship.
5: And then to my surprise, she even began showing her belly to the zookeeper!
6: Even though the dog was still a baby, the zookeeper managed to make her understand that she was her owner.

1: The zookeeper said it wasn’t good to have dogs get too attached to humans,
2: and decided to find an adult dog that could act as a parent.
3: Since she was a baby, it wasn’t that hard to convince her.
4: She thought that the dog that was brought in was her actual mother.
5: She was barking as if she was saying “I found you, Mommy!”
6: The adult dog the zookeeper brought in also did her best to be her mother.
7: She was always licking her body, // and Kuu-chan seemed to be really happy.

PAGE 22:

1: After that, she was always sticking close to the mother and getting babied.
2: After a little bit, something interesting happened.
3: This time, Kuu-chan was the one to start licking the mother’s body. // She was probably copying the mother.
4: It was really cute seeing her little tongue in action.

1: And thanks to her mother, she was also able to learn tricks really quickly.
