  1. The thing about ability scores in D&D is they were more or less a kludgy hack in for the nonexistant skill system. If you have a game with classes, you really don't need ability scores. If you have a game with ability scores you really don't need classes. If you want "the dude who disarms traps and sneaks" to be a thing you dont need to do it two ways. Either have that be the rogue class, or have it be "the dude with the high dexterity". You don't really need both because then one is inevitably married to the other and creates a sort of trap for new players.
