- Today was a special kind of day. One that didn't come by so often.
- It was his 4th birthday
- It was about time that his mother had let him out of her tight grasp and allowed him to freely scavenge the grounds of Wychwoods without her breathing down his neck. Finally! He was free! Free to do whatever he pleased.
- Well, there was one thing. Not to disappear on her. Like everyone she had ever became friendly with had. He heard tales upon tales that who ever had been close friends with her had either died off or disappeared to be never seen again.
- and so had his Dad
- Curious beyond hope, Nerian darted out to the cliff side. The same part where his mother had trained him many times before. Only that this time was different. It was alot more lonely. As if it was only him standing ontop of the cliff. Gazing out to the scenary that laid out before him. Nerian had no doubt that this world could be discovered. But at the same time he wasn't so naive to just go off without being cautious. He needed to becareful. So thats why he had brought his spear. The grip was a steel-ish color while the pole maintained a true black color between his grasp. The head of the spear was polished and dawned a snow white color. Which made it harder to sneak around with such a wide tip colored white instead of black or some other camoflauged color. But it didn't bother him that much. As he knew that he was quick enough in order to evade most threats that dared to come his way. . . .
- Or so he thought.
- As Nerian stared out towards the woods. He hoped to catch the sight of something mesmorizing. He wanted his first day outside to be something special. He wanted to have fun! Meet some people. Learn some things. He was jsut any ordianary child Ookami who was curious about the world. But he was also warned that it had held many dangers aswell as beautys. He had heard all about if from his mother. All the stories. All the tales. Espcially the time where she had met his father. It wasn't the best kind of fairy tale. But it was something abnormal. Well she didn't go ahead and tell him everything about it as if it would probably scar him but he knew everything so he knew for a fact that his mother contained some things from their encounter.
- But that even begs the question. He had no idea as to how his father looked like. His mother had no pictures that they shared nor anything that the both of them could remember him by. Which frustrated him a little. His hair was the same as his mothers. So was his eyes and every other thing about him. Except for his 'perfect' smile that his mother had repeatedly told him that he got that from his flirtatious father and his hair. But he didn't believe her. That was just something all parents told their children. Right?
- (Nerian)
- Hanzo had just returned, he had a brief meeting with Balen and Ladon, nothing too serious important, most people would refer to it at catching up, Hanzo however just thought of it as idle chit chat, but still he stayed and did what he felt obligated to do. After a few moments of what had seemed like mindless and none thought provoking chatter, they would finally be finished and ready to head along their ways, Hanzo considering his gathering of quite a substantial amount of fruits seeds and materials, decided he'd give himself a vacation. He'd even take a shot at trying to recruit some people, but he'd see how that went.
- The days went on faster than the conversation he had recently been in, and before he had even realised he had found himself at the tip of Wychwood waiting to enter it again, he stopped just observing the edges, places his hand on a nearby tree the textures were so much different from that of the marshes.
- 'So smooth… So... much like home' he'd mumble to himself.
- His hand slowly glowing green as the part that he had touched begun corroding causing the tree to collapse with a large crashing sound being made, he'd only give off a shrug as he finally decided to enter. His eyes setting to the left of him, as his body followed, leading him near the base of the hill, he'd notice an ookami, rather young, but these creatures were used to the woods, even at such a young age. He'd narrow his eyes as the boy had shared some similarities with that ookami he had seen the other day training that other child Nef was it?. All the Ookami's had looked the same to him at this point.
- Deciding to approach him, with no real quiet in his footsteps, frightening the child didn't seem like a good idea. As he stood there for a moment his fist clenching tightly as he looked at the boy and chuckled lightly to himself, a deep poisonous miasma gathering around his fist. How easy it would be to kidnap him and use him to enact some form of revenge, shaking the thought from his head however, this was not the child's fight so he'd decide to leave him out of it for now, he'd clear his throat as he offered a greeting.
- 'Good day to you young one' his stare cold and fixed on Nerian.
- (Hanzo Hatashi)
- Boom!
- A faint but heavy crash would soon erupt in the distance on the outer rim of Wychwood. This would only drive him to become curious to what had happened. Now gazing out in the distance he had noticed that something was off. But then again, it was most likely impossible to tell that one tree had just so happened to fall out of the thousands, if not millions of trees. Taking hold in the ground about. But Kyrian wasn't fazed as yet. He knew that such sound couldn't have been created up due to his own imagination. But then again, he was kind of crazy to find some sort of adventure at the first chance that he got.
- After what seemed like to be a minute or two, he would give up hope and come to the conclusion that maybe it was just his imagination. Making him hear things in order for him to leave the cliff and venture out into the unknown.
- Sure his mother had taken him out and showed him around. He knew that a town called Frostvale was up north, he just had to follow the snow. The colder it got, the closer he would be. Or so his mother said. Then there was the town east of Wychwood. A city that couldn't be missed. You'd have to have no sense to find it because it was proven that a blind man could find his way from one place to the other. But then again that was just something his mother had told him. Lastly, there was the Desert. Otherwise known as the Sarab Desert. One of the hottest places in the country. If not. The hottest out of all. It was a long stretch and infact took some time to cross. So his mother hadn't bothered to even take him out there. But left him some knowledge about it, and Ooh! There was also some kind of castle or hold that was near the enterance or exit of the Desert. Which he heard that no one had paid much attention too. But then again. He had heard that from his mom.
- 'Good day to you young one' he heard a voice call out from the distance.
- His senses were keen so he was surprised to see that someone had snuck up on him.
- Taking a step back. He would slowly draw back his right hand to grip at the center of his black spear. Only to realize that the man standing below him were taking heavy steps, causing the grass below him to crunch beneathe his feet. There was also no weapon drawn and he surely didn't have the intentions to be hostile as he didn't try to call him down or rush up on the cliff after him.
- This would only bring him relief. First encounter! Yay!
- Smiling shyly, he didn't fully grasp his spear. Instead he drew his hand forward again as he went over to the ledge and sat down on it. Placing both hands, palms faced down, on the ground beside him. He kicked his feet about infront of him playfully as he looked down at him. The more that he observed the man more, the smaller that he had looked. It made him laugh on the inside as he said playfully.
- "Good day to you too! Hey! Did someone ever tell you that you looked so small from down there?!" he called out towards Hanzo. His smile would then brighten as his overall expression had seemed to gleam outwards with brillance. He was having fun. Something that he hadn't had by himself since he was always with his mother. It kinda gave him the sense that he was growing up. Maturing even. It made him feel bigger in a sense.
- "You look small!" he called out once more grinning in delight
- (Nerian)
- The child had responded and for now he had seemingly been in a none riled up mood, which was perfect for Hanzo, especially considering he hadn't meant any harm to the boy, he'd listen as he responded, commenting on how small he had looked from down there. A smirk arising, though unnoticeable because of his mask;
- 'Quite the perceptive one' he'd say almost sarcastically.
- Conjuring forth his toxic aura, he'd form the gas into making a variation of claws, allowing him to scale the side of the mountain with ease, within no time he was at the top of the mountain, a green substance looking from each impale in the Cliffside. His aura dying down as he approached the boy'
- 'Who's the short one now' he'd say ruffling the top of his hair.
- Kneeling before him.
- 'What is your name child? And why are you out here alone, don't you have parents or a group to stay with?'
- 'The woods have been rather dangerous of late'
- 'No place for children' he'd say with a shake of his head.
- (Hanzo Hatashi)
- 'Quite the perceptive one'
- Which would draw a mischevious smirk from the boys lips.
- 'Ooh! Only if he knew' he thought
- It wouldn't be long for a sight to unravel. One that he had never seen of before. It was sudden and dark. Almost the same as his mothers aura. But it was different in multiple ways as it had a dark green hue to it instead of it being purple.
- It did scare him abit as his eyes grew in shock as claws would soon take shape around the man who would soon scale the side of the cliff. His speed growing rapidly as it took on mere seconds for him to reach the top and be by his side.
- The only thing for Nerian was that he didn't fell the presence of his aura as the toxic shroud had disapated around him as soon as he had came within arms reach. For one thing, he was amazed by it as his mouth was left agape as he stared down at the moutian-side and saw the marks of the claws embedded within the slope. He was speechless. He had only seen his mother scale a the cliff with such haste. Granted that Kyrian was always right behind her. But still, she was pretty fast. But it seemed as if this man was almost as fast as her. If not, faster!
- Which begged the question. Who was he?
- The only probably was that as he turned around to face the man to begin his question. A hand would soon find itself embedded within his hair. Ruffling it as his mother had always done when it was time for bed. Which made his face light up a bit red as he was embarrased gotten to him in such ease. Cutting him off from him ever asking his question. But he was teased in the progress. Which caused him to pout and for his redness to go away as he called out "Heyyy! No fairrrr" Then he crossed his arms.
- Then he kneeled down beside him, which made him curious. He would then ask him about his name, and why he was out here alone, ontop of all that. He asked where his parents were or if he had a group. Which was gathered with two more statements which he obvivously had answers too.
- "Uuh. . . you tell me your name and then I'll give you mine! and as for my parents. There around. . uhh. . . keeping an eye on you! Infact I have an entire pack the beckons to my very will! I'm their leade- ahem. . I mean Alpha! and you better not mess with me or I'll have you begging for mercy within seconds!" he stated. At first it was a more like casual tone that he would bring up if he were talking to someone he knew, and then he suddenly had a chance of voice as he started to come off as he tried to pull off his best impression of a dictator of some foreign country. But it would be seen obviously through an adults eyes that his proud act was a fake. Only kids could be fooled by his attempts for now!
- "and I know that the woods are dangerous while late! Why do you think that I'm here?! Because I'm dangerous! Rawr!" he stated with a mischevious smile. Only to laugh afterwards as he couldn't hold it in any longer.
- He would then laugh outloud for a few moments before coming to a stop to explain his situation as he gazed outwards across the land.
- "Yeah yeah, I know. Its dangerous out here when it gets late. But you see. My mother had just let me off her tight grip. Which means that I can explore around as much as I want but not to leave Wychwood or disappear. She's really nice. . . I'm just trying to make the best of my first trip out on my own" he said in a more casual tone until the end. It was kind of longing as he really wanted to see something insane happen or do the unordinary!
- Nerian would then focus back on Hanzo "But then you came along with your cool greenish aura thing and scaled this cliff! That was soooooo cool! I never seen something like that before. Like the way that the claws came out. Then it like. Boom! Impaled the slope! and then! and then! you where already up here before I could blink my eyes! So I say that this first trip of mine was pretty exciting enough" he said with glee. As he explained himself, he used his hands to emphasis the epic parts in his short tale.
- "Ooh! My name's Nerian by the way. Whats yours?" he continued on as he smiled brightly and held out his hand to shake Hanzo's if he deemed to shake his back!
- (Nerian)
- The boy had asked his name, under normal circumstances this would have been Hanzo's time to give some made up name or an alias, but instead he decided against it, what would be the harm in telling this young lad his name.
- 'Hanzo Hatashi kid'
- He went on listening as the boy spoke, mainly lies, but there were some truths hidden in his words, though his parents certainly weren't watching because if who he had believed to be this boys mother had even seen him near her child she'd have tried to off him, on principle no doubt. However the boy did have potential, more so than the sorry excuses that mope around these parts, maybe there was hope for him to become an alpha, as he seemingly desired, but that would have to be determined in time. For now he'd only entertain the boy as best he could for what little time he could.
- 'Wow an alpha huh, but if you were an alpha why would you need people watching over you, that only promotes weakness'
- 'Alpha's travel alone, they may lead their pack but for the most part they are the figurative lone wolf'
- 'But that is something you will grasp when you are older'
- He'd offer a chuckle that had sounded as though Hanzo had smoked cigarettes all his life, sounding as rusty and as hoarse as ever.
- 'You certainly do look mighty dangerous, I'm sure any force that comes up against you simply quakes at your benevolent power'
- He'd only smirk as the boy was making an effort to compliment his abilities, it was something he had rarely heard, mainly because the people who ended up seeing it, regretted every moment. He'd turn to face the boy smirk still present.
- 'This is poison my child, what you saw there before you was a manipulation of the elements, keep up those practices with your mother and who knows maybe in time I'll be seeing you with the ability to fly' he'd say half jokingly.
- 'It is a pleasure to meet you Nerian'
- 'So this mother of yours… what's she like, and I haven't heard you mention your father, is he around?' he'd ask inquisitively.
- (Hanzo Hatashi)
- Hanzo Hatashi
- That was the name that the man had given him. It seemed that he had quite a story to bring back to his mother. It would be awesome! Even more, the thought that seemed to come up in his mind is if Hanzo knew his mother. That would certainly be interesting! It would even be better if they were best of buds. Maybe then Hanzo could show him the few tricks that he had up his sleeve! No seriously though. Those claws had to come out of somewhere right?!
- As Nerian continued to daydream along, Hanzo would break his thoughts as he seemed to have believed his sayings of him being 'Alpha'. Only that towards the end. It had seemed that Hanzo hadn't been born yesterday. As he questioned him about being an Alpha and brought about that it would promote weakness If he had his followers watch over him. In which he would start his counter-attack by starting with the word.
- "But-" to only be cut off once more as Hanzo scolded him that Alpha's travled alone. They did lead their pack. But on the top side. They were figuratively a lone wolf. Which boggled Nerian's mind.
- 'figurative lone wolf?' he questioned in his mind. It was something that he was curious about. So surely he would bring it up later on. Maybe not since he might be able to get a grasp on it when he became older.
- Suddenly a sore chuckle would beam from Hanzo's lips. It sounded as raspy as ever which begged a question. But Nerian would hold it back and await what he had to say next. Which did turn out to be a good thing as he would begin to complement him. Which made him draw a brighter smile.
- "Really? I mean. I always knew that I was pretty quick, but strong?! . . err. . I mean. Yeah! They do! They do shake in fear before me!" he said triumphantly. Before a half of minute would go by as he realized Hanzo's smirk. Which made him pout as he said out loud. "Your mocking me huh?" he said monotone before looking off the other way.
- "Hmph! Just letting you know. Rabbits poop each time they see me coming for them! Poop! Yes I said it! I am the definaition of fear when it comes to them! Just too have you know!!!" he continued on to boost his self-esteem.
- Which he would realize which was wrong. Sure, maybe Hanzo was being nice with him about being all strong and superior. But along with it. Hanzo seemed to glow himself due to the remark that Nerian had given him.
- Soon he would give his side on how he scaled the wall as fast as he done. Which he considered magic. To which he was right as Hanzo brought about the manipulation of the elements. It was something that Nef had tried to teach Nerian. But to far busy in her own grown up stuff to put in the time and enough effort to enable him to manipulate the elements that were given to him.
- ' It is a pleasure to meet you Nerian. '
- Which popped up suddenly. It had caught him by surprise at first. But it got him to smile a bit whole-heartedly as he replied. " And same to you!"
- Which was then followed by the questions of his mother and father. Which he grew more defensive as he stared off into the distance. He knew that it wouldn't hurt to tell someone about his parents. But at the same time. His mother did warn him about giving out such names as both his parents had gone to hell and back. So she said.
- After what seemed like forever. Nerian finally decided to speak.
- ". . . . If I get in trouble. . . I'm bringing up your name and having you take the blame. OKAY?!" he stated as he glanced over to Hanzo, staring him straight into his eyes.
- Then, he would take a moment to look away.
- "My mom is a kind woman, she's really gentle and sweet towards me. But very *he smiles lovingly* very hostile towards those who wish us harm. She's passionate and far. That is to people she cares for that is. " he said.
- "I her features. Such as the color of her hair. Although she says that my fur is a more lovely hue than hers. I have her long eyelashes, which she loves to point out and the color of her eyes. But she seems to say that it isn't her look. That it might be her color but it isnt her eyes. Which is weird if you ask me. " he continued to only end with a shrug.
- "Why do you ask?" he said as he finally looked over towards Hanzo and stared him straight in the eye. "Do you know her or something?" he asked. He did finish and it seemed like he was not going to continue, he even purposely evaded the question about his father. As he had not one clue as how to respond
