  1. okay so the whole “bad deed balances out good deed and vice versa” thing actually ties back to a lotta metaphysical/spiritual teachings, karma and samsara what have you, but what stuck out to me was the twin pillars boaz and jachin, originally the names of the pillars of solomons temple. we’re getting into some order of the golden dawn shit if my memory’s right about the sources here. but basically boaz signifies “negation” and kachin “beginning” but both are necessary to hold up the structure etc etc yada yada, and if you look at the high priestess tarot (specifically the Rider-Waite) too you can see these pillars. they’re often black and white according to their names as well. the high priestess tarot is representative of enlightenment, wisdom, power, balance, etc.

  3. now what does the axis mundi have to do with the pillars of solomon? well maybe not a whole lot I’m a lil fuzzy but if you look at the tree of the sephiroth…there are 3 pillars there as well. the central is the “kether” which is represenative of balance and beauty, neutrally tied to the other two, often labeled as justice and mercy, and they are all tied by the facets of the sephiroth which is a whole other essay lmfao also no its not the final fantasy one. but yeah. i don’t know if CONFIRMED RELATED but honestly everything spiritual low-key is so whatever its a synchronicity don’t @ me

  5. from here we get into some other seemingly unrelated but absolutely related stuff: the baphomet. if you look at images of the baphomet, which many think is a satanic figure but actually isn’t and is a whole deity of their own, solve and coagula are often written on the arms, also words which basically mean creation and destruction. and ya pal baphomet, also being depicted as an entity of balance—human and animal, stereotypically male and female anatomical characteristics, one arm up and one down, is often seated between two pillars as well, as a deity, the axis mundi, the centerpoint.

  8. SOOOOO long story short my occult theory is this and I’m gonna summarize in in star wars bc that was also addressed and is a great metaphor here: the jedi and the sith were both full of garbage and the grey jedi were the only ones who got it right. the balance, the enlightenment, is accepting that all of the universe is equal parts destruction and creation and neither exist without the other, and so should the occult practitioner not try to excise one or the other from themselves; rather they should learn when and how to use both “dark” and “light” properties to their best and most effective uses. i.e: in order to truly become the center pillar, upward and downward energies must be flowing through you. boaz and jachin, solve et coagula, and you, the practitioner, as the axis mundi, channeling both streams to their most effective uses to become a better occult student, witch, or even just a psychologically stronger person. its a tough thing too bc its double edged; just as the universe isn’t all dark or light only, neither are you as a person. but again, enlightenment thru balance.

  10. tldr grey jedi had it right the whole time, you can help a child in yakuza and then immediately beat up 20 men, its fine, life’s short, know yourself and you will know the universe bc the greatest territory to be discovered by any adventurer is that of their own soul THANK YOU AND GOODNIGHT
