- Life at War
- by: thepoemfairy
- Only hear bombs
- My friends are slowly dying, while listening to them crying
- The mud here is so deep, must not fall asleep
- Have to keep watch, my eyes are burning
- Soldiers in their death bed, right on the ground
- No one can move them, can't make a sound
- I hear them moan, tears fall to my cheek
- Realizing how much this means to me
- Mud reaching the top of my knees, I wish I could feel that breeze
- Want to freeze time to go back, please, please, please
- Not knowing my last day, never take this for granted
- As this experience has taught me I'm blessed and enchanted
- Want to go home, still haunted forever,
- Rats, mud and lack of food, you name it, we were fooled,
- Never again, I've learned for my children,
- As this experience will be remembered and cherished forever
