  1. Archer Maclean's Mercury (PSP, 2005)
  2. ------------------------------------
  3.
  4. Setup: Unzip the archive and open PPSSPPWindows64.exe (if you're on 64-bit Windows) or PPSSPPWindows.exe. Do File > Load... and select "Archer Maclean's Mercury (U).iso". PPSSPP should automatically be configured for Xbox controllers but if you want to change controls or check stuff then go to Game setting > Control mapping... and set the necessary controls. Get yourself to the world select screen (you should have Tutorial selected) and .ready up.
  5.
  6. Goal: Beat tutorial and Quartz (.done when the score pops up after Quartz Boss)
  7.
  8. Controls
  9. --------
  10. Analog: Move
  11. Face buttons (X, O, Square, Triangle): Rotate camera 90 degrees
  12. D-pad up/down: Change camera mode (either have the camera centered between all blobs or centered on a specific blob)
  13. D-pad left/right: Change which blob the camera is locked to when in that camera mode
  14. L/R: Zoom in/out
  15.
  16. The game has 3 main types of levels:
  17. -Race: Reach the ending in a specific amount of time (indicated at the top left of the screen)
  18. -Percentage: Reach the ending with a specific amount of mercury remaining (indicated by the meter on the left of the screen)
  19. -Task: Light a certain number of beacons (indicated at the bottom left)
  20.
  21. There are 3 of each of these types in each of the two worlds. After that, the next two levels are combo levels. The first is a race/percentage level and the second is a percentage/task level. Finally, the 12th and final level in each world is a Boss type level, which combines all 3.
  22.
  23. -You can select Race 1 in each world and continually hit "Next Level" after each to avoid the level select screen
  24. -One of the first tutorial levels will teach you the color mixing mechanics, but the gist of it is that there are 3 primary colors: Red, Green, and Blue. You can combine two of them to form different colors (Red + Blue = Purple, Red + Green = Yellow, Blue + Green = Light Blue) or all 3 to get white.
  25. -Pay attention to the mechanics in the tutorial
  26. -The boss level of Quartz introduces an antigravity mechanic, note that the controls are reversed when you're on the ceiling
  27.
  28. Good luck and have fun! :D
