[17:37] <~Kroked> it has been a year since Josh joined your caravan, and also marks your third anniversary of joining the caravan, it's hard to beleive it's really been 3 years already
[17:38] <~Kroked> Your are currently travelling through the Northern Norselands, it's cold, but as you came in the summer, it is not nearly as bad as it was last time you came here several years back
[17:39] <~Kroked> In the last year Josh has acted as a general body guard, which has helped quite a bit, especially when routes have been closed due to dangerous monsters
[17:40] <~Kroked> Howeverm not long ago, one of the women discovered Josh actually has another talent he hadn't been sharing, he's a decent singer
[17:42] <~Kroked> So he's been recently roped into singing for the next performance, though you personally have yet to hear him sing
[17:45] <~Kroked> at the moment you're in a cozy little village, where a performance will be taking place
[17:48] <~Kroked> Kaia and the girls are busy setting up, and you've just finished feeding the animals. Josh is sitting against the carriage eating some bread
[17:48] <~Kroked> he's dressed in the same gettup as always, much to Kaia's chargin, as she wanted him to dress up more for the performance, but he refuses
[17:49] <Violet> "So, do you think you're ready for the performance?"
[17:49] <~Kroked> Josh shrugs "Probably not."
[17:49] <~Kroked> "It's been... 6? years since I've sung in front of a crowd"
[17:51] <Violet> "Hmph. You better hope that you do well. Kaia's really counting on you for this."
[17:52] <~Kroked> "I'll do my best, but I've barely gotten time to practice, i can't really promise anything."
[17:53] <Violet> "Well then, practice right now!"
[17:56] <~Kroked> he raises his eyebrows "But they're setting up for the performance now, I'm not sure..."
[17:57] <Violet> "Just warm up your voice. It's better than nothing."
[18:01] <~Kroked> Josh sighs, and begins to sing
[18:02] <~Kroked> he starts soft at first, as if getting used to it, before slowly getting louder
[18:05] <~Kroked> it's... amazing. his voice is low and warm and sucks you in. The love song he sings touches your heart, you almost feel like the music is causing a little play in your head, you can see the characters, feel the emotion. Fell the Gentleness and love in the voice
[18:06] <~Kroked> by the time the song ends, you find yourself feeling it was too soon, and long for more
[18:07] <~Kroked> Josh kinda scratches his head "Sorry, it's been awhile. I'll try to do better in the actual performance"
[18:08] * Violet clears throat, "I-um I think you'll do fine."
[18:08] <~Kroked> "You think? I dunno"
[18:08] <Violet> "Yeah, I'm sure"
[18:09] * Celia hums in agreement.
[18:10] <~Kroked> Josh gives a small smile "Well I'm glad you think so"
[18:10] <~Kroked> at that moment Kaia walks over "Josh it's almost time, are you ready?"
[18:12] <~Kroked> Josh just shrugs, kinda his default response "As ready as ever I spose"
[18:14] <~Kroked> Kaia gives a sort of releived smile "Good good." she turns to you "And how are you doing vi?"
[18:15] * Violet smiles at Kaia, "Good!"
[18:15] * Violet is wearing the same outfit she got two years ago with Kaia on her first anniversary-day-thing
[18:16] * Violet waits for Kaia to notice
[18:16] <~Kroked> "I'm sorry we've been so busy today, I know today's a very important day"
[18:17] <Violet> "It's okay, I understand."
[18:17] * Violet sways back and forth, hoping Kaia notices the dress
[18:19] <~Kroked> there is a yell from the perfomance area and Kaia yells back "I'm sorry, we're about to start. I'll come back as soon as we're done" she rushes off
[18:19] <~Kroked> Josh just kinda sighs
[18:19] <~Kroked> he walks at a much slower pace to the performance area
[18:20] * Violet looks at her feet, downcast
[18:24] <~Kroked> the performance starts up, and opens with some kind of flute instrument, than the dancing begins, Kaia as radiant as always
[18:26] <~Kroked> and than comes the singing. Normally, something of that degree would easily outshine the dancers, even Kaia, but it somehow seems to meld with their movements, accenting it, combining to make what has to be the most amazing performance you've ever seen lead by Josh's singing
[18:26] <~Kroked> when the performance finishes, the crowd is silent for a few moments
[18:27] <~Kroked> than it erupts in cheers as the performers are showered in coins
[18:27] <~Kroked> it becomes obvious fairly quickly that this is the biggest haul you've gotten from a single performance
[18:28] <~Kroked> Josh, having only had time to learn the one song, leaves the stage, much to the disappointment of the crowd
[18:29] <~Kroked> he joins you where you sit as the music starts up again, the dancers and musicians seeming to take heart after the last performance, doing better than normal
[18:30] <Violet> "Good job up there. That was really amazing."
[18:30] <~Kroked> He kinda sighs and gets himself some water, and glances at you
[18:30] <~Kroked> "It was nothing. Nice dress by the way."
[18:31] * Violet holds her hands up to the sky in "WHY?" fashion, then slumps back in her seat.
[18:32] <~Kroked> "...Did I... say something wrong?"
[18:34] * Violet makes a 'tch' sound. "No. It's just ironic that you notice the dress, while Kaia, the one who /gave/ it to me doesn't even bat an eye."
[18:35] <~Kroked> "...ah, so you feel neglected?"
[18:38] * Violet sighs. "I don't know. I just wanted to spend time with Kaia today, since today marks three years since I joined her and the gypsies. I wore the dress she got for me on the first year, but she didn't even notice."
[18:40] <~Kroked> he gives a small nod "I guess I can understand that. She /was/ busy though. Maybe she'll notice later."
[18:41] * Violet shrugs. "Maybe."
[18:41] <~Kroked> "...but you'd rather she'd notice before right?"
[18:44] * Violet leans forward in her seat. "I'd just like for her to notice at all, really."
[18:44] * Violet glares at the ground "This is my sister happening all over again!"
[18:45] * Violet blinks a few times, before a small stream of tears flow out from her eyes.
[18:48] <~Kroked> Josh Blinks "Uh... do you want to talk about it? I mean, there might not be a lot I can do... but I can listen."
[18:51] <Violet> "There's not much to talk about. One day my oldest sister just up and left, dropping the entire responsibility onto Sabrina. From that point on, she had less and less time for me. And now Kaia's always busy, too."
[18:52] <~Kroked> "..ahh. So it feels like her dancing is more important to her than you, and you're jealous?"
[18:52] * Violet sighs. "But feeling sorry for myself about it never got me anywhere with Sabrina. I should just do something to grab Kaia's attention"
[18:53] <~Kroked> "That could work, of course, it depends on what you /do/"
[18:53] <~Kroked> "DO you have anything in mind?"
[18:55] * Violet suddenly looks nervous. "W-well I have been practicing my dancing..."
[18:56] <~Kroked> "You want to dance for her?"
[19:14] <Violet> "I would like to...um dance on stage tonight. I know I'm not old enough, but just for this special occasion, I'd like to."
[19:15] <~Kroked> "Oh? You sound like you have a plan"
[19:18] <Violet> "I've been practicing, but I don't really have much of a plan..."
[19:18] <~Kroked> "So you basically just want to show her how much you've learned?"
[19:19] * Violet nods
[19:19] <~Kroked> "Have you thought about giving her a private dance after the performance?"
[19:20] * Violet 's face goes red "I...I guess I could..."
[19:21] <~Kroked> "I bet she'd really appreciate that too, than, it can be a special thing, just between you and her."
[19:21] * Violet doesn't say anything, but her face looks redder than Celia's
[19:22] <~Kroked> Josh checkles and ruffles your hair
[19:22] <~Kroked> *chuckles
[19:23] <Violet> "Do, um...do you think I should still see about dancing on stage?"
[19:24] <~Kroked> "I think you should wait till you're old enough. If thats what Kaia had told you before, you should listen to her."
[19:25] * Violet nods. "Yeah, that might be a good idea."
[19:31] <~Kroked> "Why not just enjoy the dancing for now, and afterwards, you can give Kaia your little show."
[19:32] * Violet leans back in her to plan her dance later that evening
[19:32] * Violet *in her chair
[20:12] <~Kroked> Josh suddenly bolt's upright, and reaches his hand to hi pocket
[20:12] * Violet turns to look at the sudden movement
[20:13] <~Kroked> "..hey, uh, Violet, there was a little tavern down the street a ways right? could you go get me a sandwich?
[20:14] * Violet gives him a quizzical look. "Uhm...I suppose. How come?"
[20:14] <~Kroked> "I'm sure Kaia will be hungry after her performance"
[20:16] <Violet> "But...you said you wanted me to get /you/ a sandwich..."
[20:17] <~Kroked> "...right, to give to you to give to her"
[20:19] * Violet sighs. "Okay, I'll go get this sandwich...for you...to give to me...to give to her. Just whatever it is you're actually planning, don't get anyone hurt, alright? That includes yourself."
[20:19] <~Kroked> "...right"
[20:20] <~Kroked> "Just go, hurry"
[20:20] <Violet> "Okay, okay."
[20:20] * Violet walks off to fetch a sandwich
[20:33] <~Kroked> you do so, you get one you know Kaia will like, and as you leave the tavern, you feel the ground shake
[20:34] <~Kroked> you hear a loud commotion in the distance as well
[20:34] <~Kroked> both are coming from the square where performance was happening
[20:35] * Violet goes to investigate

[20:38] <~Kroked> the square is completly frozen over, and where the center of the square was, is now an icy hole leading underground. all around the square are the bdies of the dead, or frozen
[20:39] <~Kroked> there is, in fact, only one person left who is neither dead nor frozen, Josh, on a single knee, his legs trapped in ice
[20:39] * Violet stares, shocked. "Josh? What...what happened?"
[20:40] <~Kroked> "Get out of here! This isn;t a place for you right now, it might come back!"
[20:41] * Violet looks around, worried. "What might come back?"
[20:41] <~Kroked> "The Dragon."
[20:41] * Violet 's eyes widen. "A dragon?"
[20:42] * Violet , the thought suddenly hitting her, looks around Kaia.
[20:42] <~Kroked> "Yeah, It must have been sleeping under the town, it came out of nowhere and... it doesn't matter. you have to get out."
[20:42] <~Kroked> Violet: she's nowhere to be seen
[20:43] * Violet looks Josh in the eye. "Josh, what happened to Kaia?"
[20:44] <~Kroked> Josh grimances and looks away "It took her"
[20:45] * Violet breathes heavily, panic threatening to take over her sense of reason. "Where did it go?"
[20:45] <~Kroked> "Where do you /think/?" Josh spit out, obviously a little worked up at this point
[20:46] <~Kroked> at this point Josh is about half out of the ice after hacking at it with his sword
[20:46] * Violet runs up to the hole in the ground to peer down it
[20:47] <~Kroked> it slopes down and extends into the darkness
[20:47] * Violet speaks "Asclepius!" to call her staff to her hand
[20:48] <~Kroked> Josh's eyes go wide when he see's the Legendary weapon
[20:50] <~Kroked> "Violet..."
[20:56] <~Kroked> "Violet, you can't do this."
[20:57] * Violet glares back at Josh, "And why not?!"
[20:58] <~Kroked> "Because you aren't strong enough, There won't be anything left of you to find if that thing gets a hold of you"
[21:00] <Violet> "Then you go down there and bring Kaia back! You made me leave! you knew this would happen!"
[21:01] <~Kroked> "I'm planning too, as soon as I get out of this ice."
[21:01] <~Kroked> He's still chopping at the ice
[21:03] * Violet lets out a frustrated growl, and looses a shot of fire to melt the rest of the ice from Josh's feet
[21:03] <~Kroked> Josh hops out
[21:06] <Violet> "Now. We, that's right, WE are going down there and bringing Kaia back. This is not up for discussion."
[21:16] <~Kroked> Josh gives you a glare "you're right, it's not, you aren't coming with. If I die, someone needs to continue where I left off."
[21:17] * Violet wordlessly steps down the hole in the ground

[21:20] <~Kroked> Josh grabs you by the scruff of the neck and pulls you back
[21:21] * Violet glares at him
[21:22] <~Kroked> Nate raches into his pocket and pulls out an ornate golden pocket watch "See this? This is my token."
[21:23] * Violet folds arm, "And why do I care?"
[21:23] <Violet> "Is this helping rescue Kaia?"
[21:24] <~Kroked> "Because It's srt of the symbol of my group, and a very powerful object. It might help... it might not. That's why I'm showing it to you know, in case I fuck up."
[21:24] <~Kroked> "Hold out your hand"
[21:25] * Violet impatiently puts her hand out
[21:26] <~Kroked> Josh grabs your hand and puts the hand holding the watch in yours, so that the watch is between both of your palms "I need you to make a promise to me, a... sort of oath"
[21:27] * Violet gives him a look to hurry up with it.
[21:29] <~Kroked> "Promise me you'll never give up, no matter how bleak things get. That you will Always use your head instead of just jumping right in, and most importantly, that you will always do what you think is right."
[21:29] * Violet sighs and calms down slightly. "I promise."
[21:30] <~Kroked> Josh slowly removes his hand, and the watch in your hand glows, and the engraves gears on it... move
[21:32] <Violet> "What exactly is this thing?"
[21:34] <~Kroked> He gives a sort of sad smile and takes the watch back "A badge of honor... sort of. My tool, and when I die, yours."
[21:34] <Violet> "...when?"
[21:34] <~Kroked> "It's called the Armageddon Pocketwatch"
[21:35] <~Kroked> "I'm not immortal you know, I'll die eventually."
[21:36] <Violet> But you are insinuating that you'll die before me."
[21:37] <~Kroked> He chuckles "I'm older than you are, so of course I will, besides what I do is... pretty dangerous."
[21:38] * Violet gives him a withering stare, before gesturing towards the hole in the ground
[21:40] <~Kroked> "Now you go, I'll go get her, right now, you'd only get yourself killed. I know you're worried, but there's really nothing you can do."
[21:41] * Violet gives him an "are you serious" look.
[21:41] <Violet> "That thing was an ice dragon, right?"
[21:42] * Violet puts a small flame on her hand
[21:42] * Violet points at Celia on her shoulder
[21:42] <~Kroked> "I know, it doesn't matter, yous till aren't powerful enough yet."
[21:44] * Violet plants her staff in the ground. "If I can't even attempt to save the person who saved me, then what good am I?!"
[21:45] <~Kroked> "And what does it matter if you just end up /dead/?"
[21:46] * Violet quotes, "I'm not immortal, you know, I'll die eventually"
[21:46] <~Kroked> "Yeah, but you're only... what, 13?"
[21:47] <~Kroked> "It's not your time yet."
[21:47] <Violet> "Dead is still dead, no matter the age."
[21:47] <~Kroked> "Which means you should live as long as you can before that happens!"
[21:48] <Violet> "Shouldn't you be doing that, too, then? You barely know Kaia. Why are you going to risk your life for her?"
[21:48] <~Kroked> "Because this is my /job/"
[21:49] <~Kroked> "I told you I end up in places for a reason right?"
[21:50] <Violet> "Well what if I ended up here for a reason, too? I am going down there, whether you like it or not."
[21:53] <~Kroked> Josh grits his teeth "Fine, stay behind me, and if anything goes wrong, /run/. Understand?"
[21:53] <Violet> "Yes. Now let's GO"
[21:54] <~Kroked> Josh gives an angry sigh and leaps down the hole
