- "Hey mum!" Sora called out from the hall. "When's dinner?!"
- "Dinner's when you shut your mouth and get your practice done! Now march!"
- Sora grumbled and went back to his tightrope. He /knew/ his mum brought a sweet chicken tonight, and he /knew/ she was going to cook it in an outrageously awesome way, and he was absolutely dying to get his hands on it. But his mother always insisted on giving him all this tough love! He knew that practicing was for the best, but come on. Sometimes there were more important things on the menu. Like bitchin' drumsticks.
- He sprung into a handstand, balancing on the wire. Stupid tough mums and their stupid strictness.

- "Daaaaaaad!" Saki called out, leaning into the loungeroom. "Can I have the TV?! Dragonheart's gonna be on soon!"
- "Honey, have you finished your kata?"
- "Well, no, but -"
- "Finish your kata, sweetie."
- "But daaaaaaaaad!"
- "We've talked about this before, sweetheart. Now march!"
- Saki stalked back to her room and slammed the door. She pulled up a chair and began writing in her journal about how controlling and oppressive her stupid father was. Who did he think he was, stopping her from watching a little TV just because she hadn't gone through her stupid kata for the day?! It's not like she'd been putting it off or anything!
- Okay, maybe she had been, a little. But it just wasn't fair and he was a huge douche!
- Finally, when she'd spewed all her feelings out into her journal, she closed it up and stood. She began to practice, scowling the whole way through. Stupid suppressive dads and their stupid strictness.
