- 1. Launch your Bitcoin client
- 2. Click on 'help' in the menu bar (top right)
- 3. Click on 'debug window'
- 4. Select the 'console' tab
- If your wallet is protected by a passphrase (i.e. you have to enter a passphrase before you can send) unlock it by typing
- walletpassphrase "your walletpassphrase here" 600 (without quotes)
- dumpprivkey "your Bitcoin address here" (without quotes)
- 5. download electrum wallet (electrum.org) and import your private keys to electrum (private key from step 4 bitcoin qt wallet) (when electrum wallet starts click next and select import bitcoin addresses or private keys and paste your private key which you extracted from your old wallet on step 2)
- Note: if you want to be safe you can disconnect from internet after installing electrum and the progress after.
- 4. Sign message with the address that is displayed in receive tab of electrum wallet which should start with 1 even if it doesn't match with your old wallet address it will still work.
- 5. After successful claim, you can delete electrum and your BTC should be safe in your old wallet e.g bitcoin qt.
- Note: to claim use your bitcoin qt wallet address starting with 3 and signature from electrum.

- Claiming from wallets that don't have sign message function.

- 1. Copy your wallet address from your current wallet e.g exodus where the bitcoins were initially sent. ((This will be used to claim hex)
- 2. Extract private keys from wallet (which doesn't have sign message function e.g. exodus etc) Google how to view private keys from exodus (change exodus with your wallet name)
- 3. Easiest way would be to install Electrum wallet (electrum.org) and import your private keys to electrum (when electrum wallet starts click next and select import bitcoin addresses or private keys and paste your private key which you extracted from your old wallet on step 2)
- 4. Sign message with the address that is displayed in receive tab of electrum wallet even if it doesn't match with your old wallet address it will still work.
- 5. After successful claim, you can delete electrum and your BTC should be safe in your old wallet e.g exodus.

- Note: I use coinomi wallet myself and its pretty safe as the private keys are held on your mobile but if you want you can always move your bitcoins to another wallet after claiming your hex

- FAQ
- Q: Connection Failed or No UTXO was found for this address!
- A: There is no bitcoin on that address. Make sure you put the correct wallet address where there was bitcoins before the snapshot.
- to check if there is any bitcoins on that wallet address go to https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/ and paste your BTC address in the search field and search.
- Q: After clicking Exit never ending turning circle.
- A: Click on metamask and click on pending transaction then click speedup and increase fee by selecting fast option and confirm.
