These do correspond to real things, just with some arbitrary lines or criteria. Which is why people usually care about proposing better systems because if consistently applied these criticisms could level all taxonomy or biological categorization (because why would nature make things neatly delineated for humans, it just does what it does without caring if selectively adapted organisms meet some benchmark for distinction, or caring for any other end goal only conceivable by us)
