(8:09:35 PM) Odin: Inside the corporate opulence of the wedding, the time for fashionably late arrivals has ended. Now, now you're just unconsicably late if you show up. For the guestbook has been signed, an acceptable amount of mingling has occured, and it is now time to move on to the next stage of the program: Entertainment! The crowd, suitably liquored and filled with small finger foods and odd delicasies on a stick is escorted into an elevator in

As you ride, a video plays detailing the eventual future world domination opportunity this merger offers, and how profits for the shareholders is expected to go through the roof. It's actually a pretty well done video, full of emotionally stirring music and well-done graphics. Just a quick little taste of business, to remind people WHY they're actually here.

(8:12:26 PM) Odin: The next chamber declares itself to be a future administrative office space, but for the moment it's an empty chamber dominated by a large stage, and the comfortably padded seats surrounding it. The chairs look.... expensive, like everything else around here. When you sit down, you practically find yourself sinking into the obscene wealth. It's like you're being swallowed by fluff.
(8:13:03 PM) ***Allie bounces in place. For all the shenanigans to come, it's still a big-time social function, and here she is, right in the middle of it. Even the chairs' fluffiness can't contain the energy brimming under her surface.
(8:13:27 PM) Nemi: JD sticks by Crash, watching the video with bemusement. ".. yeah, world domination, forgetting SOME companies have /dragons/.." She glances over at Crash, flashes a grin, and otherwise .. Basically looks composed and fashionable. Aaah, obscene wealth!
(8:13:51 PM) Odin: "And now, Ladies and Gentlemen, please give it up for the Nagasaki Kabuki Theatre Group, and the Jaguar Warriors!" There's the usual applause of people who know they're expected to clap, and then the lights go out.
(8:15:57 PM) Nemi: JD sits back beside Crash, intrigued. Kabuki.. AND Jaguar Warriors?
(8:16:16 PM) Odin: Before the security forces can do more than activate their cyberware and pull customized weapons loaded with expensive rounds, a heavy drum starts slowly pounding.
(8:17:18 PM) Nemi: ... Uh oh.
(8:20:06 PM) Odin: You hear the distinctive electronic clicks and whines of weapon safetys being turned back on. Even if the bodyguards were expecting that, they're just a leeeetle more jumpy than usual for trigger happy goons. Seems some of the food circulated. Spotlights activate on the stage, and the plume of a feathered warrior starts to emerge to a rapidly increasing beat.
(8:21:02 PM) ***Allie blinks, her mismatched eyes quickly adjusting to the darkness. At least they don't reflect light.
(8:21:12 PM) Nemi: JD lets out a slow, slow exhalation of breath at the security guards calming. That was unnerving.
(8:21:53 PM) ***Cazador laughs under her breath. "They didn't tell the goons about this beforehand."
(8:22:53 PM) Chloe_Ceto: "Someone nearly got shot." She sounds almost pleased
(8:24:10 PM) Odin: You have to admit, the show that follows is impressive. The warrior stands tall in the center, and then the invisibility spell on the dozen kabuki actors surrounding them is dropped. There's a collective gasp from the crowd, and then the choreographed dance routine starts.
(8:26:02 PM) Nemi: JD finds herself nodding along. She never got to be a part of anything like this back at S-K. Man...
(8:26:29 PM) Crash: Crash watches, pretty impressed... But not forgetting while they're there~ He feels a little sorry for the production staff, but a they took a high level corp contract. They knew the risks.
(8:27:49 PM) Odin: The warrior is joined by two Eagle Warriors who drop in from above on "magic (Stagecraft) wings, and their routine is martial. Powerful. The brutality of the noble savage expressed with every arm swing and flip. Meanwhile the Kabuki routine is graceful, precise. Exact pressure and poise at every moment. Which makes the occasionally off by a half-second spotlight all the more frustrating and annoying for them, and one breaks character

(8:29:03 PM) Crash: Crash remains composed, even though he feels like giggling... Wait, he feels like giggling? Damn these bloody skillsofts...
(8:31:28 PM) Odin: It's all very entrancing, especially when the black-robed stagehands suddenly stop from where they're building something that looks like a mini-version of the tower you're in now, tear off the black cloth to reveal the highly-stylized (And more importantly, fake) armor of the security forces of the other Megacorps, and starts to engage in highly dramatized combat.
(8:32:17 PM) Allie: "This is so silly," she giggles, though she's watching with wide eyes.
(8:32:25 PM) Nemi: JD looks for someone in S-K-styled gear so she can write a SCATHING review. Or at least, do so in her head. ".. it really is," JD murmurs.
(8:33:15 PM) ***Chloe_Ceto smiles, enjoying the small failures. That should get tempers heated.
(8:35:04 PM) Odin: For anyone who's been in a fight, like yourselves and the security forces, and probably for a lot of the bigwigs around here if you judge their trades correctly, it's a whole lot of Flynning. For everyone else though, it's an exciting moment of thrust, parry, counterthrust, spinning flip over the head, beautiful flying kicks. The actors and the Azzie warriors (You idly wonder if they found real ones who know how to dance, or trained
(8:35:04 PM) Odin: stand-ins specifically for this) work together hand in hand, the brutal strength of the Azzies manuevering the enemy into just the right position for the Japanese to take them out with some absurdly showy flurry of blows. The subtext is about as blatent as it has been for the rest of the night, but is still undeniably effective.
(8:36:59 PM) Nemi: Aaah, subtext. Together they're crush their enemies blah blah blah. JD finds it more amusing than anything.
(8:38:37 PM) Odin: There are sadly, no dragons swooping down from the ceiling for them to slay. They might be trying to project an image of power, but there are certain lines you don't cross. Although the "Wyvern Prime" armor is, well, innacurate enough to someone who knows what they're looking at.
(8:43:14 PM) Odin: The combat finishes with the Jaguar warrior atop the now mysteriously finished replica tower, and he grasps the hand of an actor to pull him atop the tower. Together, they kick off a "slain" Ares Firewatch stand in. The tower and stage slowly starts to fade into the ground as the lights turn back on. The scattered applause from the beginning has turned into a show of overwhelming support, some people giving it a standing ovation.

(8:44:59 PM) Allie: Joining in the clapping, Allie sweeps her eyes around the audience. It was a hell of a show; probably really got these folks' blood boiling, even for a ceremony as solemn as a wedding is supposed to be.
(8:47:10 PM) Odin: The voices start talking again. No, your meds aren't failing, it's the loudspeakers again. "There will be a brief intermission, and then we shall proceed with what you're all here for, the sacred ceremony itself." The stage slowly starts grinding up again, to the well-hidden confusion of the stage hands, and the unseen voices. "The, ah, performers of the show are available, if you'd like to meet them."

This causes her to take a deep, DEEP breath, and then absolutely LAY IN on him with all the righteous fury someone who's dedicated their lives to social justice can unleash when given a valid target. She escalates to shouting, he shouts back, security starts to get involved in seperating them, and by then both of their blood is up and they're fighting

(9:49:20 PM) Allie: [Right.] "I haven't even thought about having my ears pierced again!" she says, tone defensive. "Maybe I will later. But right now I gotta go find the litter box before the ceremony starts."

(9:49:47 PM) Cazador: "I hope that's not an actual box. C'mon Chloe, shit's getting loud around here."
(9:49:57 PM) Nemi: JD stares in raw amazement at the scene. It's- a very good distraction, and she'll slip out of her seat and on out from the room.
(9:50:12 PM) Allie: "It's a joke, silly." She swats Cazador on the arm, heads out, turns a corner...and just disappears.

(9:54:09 PM) Odin: With Quaddie's asistance, you skillfully avoid the guard patrols, cameras conveniently facing the other direction when you have to pass, following the nav-plot on your AR to where there's a maintence hatch for the elevator for those on top, and a mostly-empty floor for the others to stash it in.
(9:55:03 PM) ***Cazador gets to the empty floor, just outside the elevator entrance.
(9:56:35 PM) Nemi: JD moves on to back up Cazador. She's unarmed, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue given she's still physically hale.
(10:00:23 PM) ***Allie makes her way all the way up to the maintenance hatch, then climbs inside. She pulls a fresh pair of gecko gloves from inside the bodice of her dress and puts them on before working her way down the elevator shaft, just in case...
(10:01:20 PM) Odin: As Allie wiggles through the vent and perches lightly on top of the elevator, a Xoloitzcuintli, or Mexican Hairless Dog that's as large as she is materializes next to her. It licks her face, before lifting it's leg in her direction.
(10:01:49 PM) Nemi: Uh oh!
(10:14:04 PM) ***Allie had bent down to gently pry open the emergency/maintenance hatch atop the elevator car, moving slowly and quietly...but then her face gets licked--and she utterly spazzes out, the fur on her tail *exploding* and a yowl escaping her throat and the door yanking off the elevator with a bang like a gunshot and the earring goes in and she climbs the shaft like her life depends on it!
(10:17:24 PM) Odin: The gas starts filling the elevator, tiny whisps of it poking above the shaft. After a few moments, the Xoloitzcuintli vanishes back to the metaplanes of its home. Quaddie sends the car to the floor where JD and Cazador are waiting.
(10:22:37 PM) Odin: Meanwhile, Caroline and the businessman have been forcibly seperated from each other, and are being watched in their seperate corners. If they weren't as important as they are, they probably would have been ejected.
(10:23:57 PM) ***Crash sticks close to Caroline, making a show of mollifying her, keeping an eye on the rest of the show and on the comm chatter... The scraps of data he dug up still need to find a good home~
(10:29:48 PM) Nemi: "Still have contact," JD hisses to Caz. "Inside,"
(10:29:59 PM) Nemi: She moves to one side of the doorway, wishing deeply she could have packed a machine pistol.

(10:30:42 PM) ***Cazador moves to the other side, pistol loaded with pepper punch rounds.
(10:32:25 PM) Odin: The door opens and through the dissipating mist, subsonic bullets launch out, peppering the far wall.
(10:33:14 PM) Odin: The gun is being held by a woman in a suit not dissimilar to Cazzie's recent acquisition. "Bah, troublemakers. Think you can steal the Jaguar name and get away with it?"
(10:33:54 PM) Chloe_Ceto: "She must have an internal air supply..."
(10:34:57 PM) Odin: *she says through a gas-mask
(10:40:16 PM) ***Cazador puts her lightning themed pistol through the elevator doors and holds down the trigger, filling the elevator with pepper punch rounds.
(10:43:20 PM) Odin: Coughing and hacking fills the room, as the sheer quantity of pepper in the room overpowers the gas mask the Jaguar Warrior is wearing.
(10:49:39 PM) Odin: "Aggh, Temple take your soul!" she curses, flinging a grenade out of the elevator before doubling over in agony from the pepper and stun.
(10:50:55 PM) ***Chloe_Ceto has hit her with a taser round...and turns to look at the grenade. "...oh stars and stones..."
(10:58:36 PM) ***Cazador grabs the grenade and chucks it down the hall as hard as she can.
(11:00:15 PM) Odin: It explodes with surprisingly savage force, shrapnel whipping through the halls. The Jaguar Warrior has puked in her gasmask, and is a feebly twitching pile of agony trying to crawl out of that peppery hell.
(11:00:50 PM) Cazador: [I wouldn't go in there right now by the way.]
(11:01:45 PM) Nemi: JD thumbs up, calm and composed and clearly not planning to do so regardless.
