  1. GX SPIRIT CALLER MAX LEVEL & CARDS SPEEDRUN
  2.
  3. General Notes:
  4. - Mash A and B (or click the touch pad) at once over and over to go through text quickly throughout the run
  5. - Much of the game is going through text, dueling, and having time pass by clicking on areas quickly, and going to sleep in your room at night. Literally passing time quickly is a skill for this run
  6. - I personally use a template I place over the DS emulator touch pad in order to know what areas I want to click on throughout the run. So I physically made a picture with a bunch of squares located where various buttons and stuff you click on throughout the run would be. Then I removed the background of the photo, then used a program called PureRef, which lets you control the opacity of the picture and whole program, then lets it be transparent to the mouse so you can click through the program, onto what’s behind the program. TLDR: Imagine a program that acts as a clear template to place over another program, that’s what I used to help guide what to click on regardless of what was showing on the screen in-game
  7. - For duels, split after pressing “OK” during the Duel Result screen.
  8. - Will probably save after every duel, it’s kinda slow but I hate brick hands
  9.
  10. Duel Notes:
  11. - If you don’t know how much damage you need for game, go for Cyber Twin. If you likely need to pierce thru stuff, go for Cyber End.
  12. - If you have Cyber Dragon and Cyber Stein, if you go for BEUD you need 1400 after Cyber Dragon + Cyber Stein attacks
  13. - AI will attack the strongest monster it can destroy. With Jinzo, Cyber Dragon, and Mystic Tomato on the field, it attacked Cyber Dragon with a Giant Orc
  14. - If you know the opponents uses Scapegoat, going for Cyber End over BEUD makes sense
  15. - The CPU is too dumb to go for game even if you have low life and could attack over a weaker monster. It seems to set if you have a monster it can’t climb and would lose next turn. Maybe it even has “scoop” AI, as in it basically passes a turn if it knows it can’t win

  19. CHEATS:
  20.
  21. Master Code:

  23.
  24. Quick School Level Up:
  25. 021058c0 0000ffff
  26. - (Level’s you quickly after 1 duel, so you slowly sit there and watch yourself get to like level 87 at first, ideally find another, one without a Master code)
  27.
  28. All Cards:
  29. C0000000 0000022B
  30. 02105AE0 99999999

  35.
  36. BEFORE RUN STARTS:
  37.
  38. - Mash A and B (or click the touch pad) at once over and over to go through text quickly throughout the run
  39.
  40. - Start the game, name yourself a 1 character name. (I tend to go for Hair number 10 and Face number 10.)
  41.
  42. - Keep mashing and wait until you run into Dorothy before school before doing stuff
  43.
  44. - Build your deck before the run properly starts. Click the pencil and paper icon in the upper left of the deck construction screen, then in that menu click the bottom left button to Empty Deck:
  45. Monsters: 18 (with 3 Fusion Deck monsters)
  46. 1 Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon
  47. 1 Cyber End Dragon
  48. 1 Cyber Twin Dragon
  49. 1 Cannon Soldier
  50. 3 Cyber Dragon
  51. 3 Cyber Stein

  74.
  75. *****
  76.
  77. RUN STARTS:
  78.
  79. - Lighthouse at night, run starts here during the black screen transition to the event
  80.
  81. - Jaden triggers that night when you try to sleep. Can lose this duel and continue.
  82.
  83. *****
  84.
  85. - Next is to get 1 win on Brier and Beauregard. Tend to find Beauregard in the evening, Brier at night
  86.
  87. - Event triggers when Crowler approaches you and Jaden at school for the 2nd time. When you go to your room at night, Jaden approaches you, starting an Endless Night
  88.
  89. - For the event, you first find a random encounter in the Hot Spring area, then a random encounter in the Ra Yellow area. Called “Duelist in Disguise”, shortened to D-I-D in the splits
  90.
  91. *****
  92.
  93. - Next event is Chazz, must beat Torimaki and Mototani twice to trigger it. Mototani is pretty frustrating. Edit the deck:
  94. - Take out 3 Mystic Tomato, 3 Nimble Momonga, 1 Brain Control, and 1 Tryce for all 8 side cards. Beat Mototani twice
  95. - Mototani Notes: Don’t try to drag on these duels. After maybe 3-4 turns if it doesn’t look like an easy win just reset.
  96.
  97. - Syrus will come to your room 2 days later when you try to sleep. Go to Ra Yellow area for the Chazz event marker.
  98.
  99. *****
  100.
  101. - Edit the deck back to how it was before
  102.
  103. - Next event is Alexis, need to beat Mindy and Jasmine twice each to trigger it.
  104. - Mindy has Marshmellon, hold onto E-Con and potentially Shield Crush
  105.
  106. - Event triggers when you get a mail message at night, go to the Obelisk Blue Girls’ Dorm
  107.
  108. *****
  109.
  110. - Get a duel spirit, equip it in your room by clicking on the closet and entering that menu.
  111.
  112. - After 2 school days, duel Chazz at Duel Field
  113.
  114. - Next day, edit the deck. Take out 1 Cyber Dragon, 1 Mystic Tomato, 1 Card Destruction, 1 E-Con, and 1 Tryce for 5 side cards not named Dust Tornado. Then duel Bastion at Ra Yellow Dorm
  115.
  116. - Next day, Jaden goes to your room to trigger Blair event. Go to Obelisk Blue Boys’ Dorm first, then find her as a random encounter in Forest area
  117.
  118. - The morning after, Bastion challenges you to your 2nd duel with him
  119. - (Noticed on a Friday, with Adhesive Explosive after Bastion morning duel, you skip school? Trying to figure bug stuff out, didn’t really lead to anything significant)
  120.
  121. *****
  122.
  123. - Trigger Chumley dropped cards event at night, try in Slifer Red area a few times and reset, then look in Forest area. Can take multiple tries. (Forgot to equip a duel spirit one time before, may be random, maybe not game is screwy)
  124.
  125. - Next day Scary Stories event unlocks at night when you enter your room. Titan is the next day
  126. - Titan Notes: Has DD Assailant, Spirt Reaper, Wall of Illusion, Night Assailant as sets, as well as Slate Warrior. Ring of Destruction and Battle Scarred are his scarier backrow cards
  127.
  128. - 2 days later are the Para and Dox duels, must edit Jaden’s deck:
  129. Monsters: 17
  130. 1 Avian
  131. 3 Clayman
  132. 3 Sparkman
  133. 1 D.D. Assailant
  134. 1 D.D. Warrior Lady
  135. 2 Stratos
  136. 2 Wildheart
  137. 1 Exiled Force
  138. 1 Goddess With The Third Eye
  139. 2 King of the Swamp
  140. (Add basically 2-3 copies of all E-Hero Fusions)
  141. Spells: 20
  142. 2 E - Emergency Call
  143. 1 Fusion Sage
  144. 1 Future Fusion
  145. 1 Graceful Charity
  146. 1 Hammer Shot
  147. 1 Heavy Storm
  148. 3 Miracle Fusion
  149. 1 MST
  150. 3 Poly
  151. 1 Premature
  152. 2 Righteous Justice
  153. 2 RotA
  154. 1 Swords of Revealing Light
  155. Traps: 3
  156. 1 Call of the Haunted
  157. 1 Mirror Force
  158. 1 Royal Decree
  159. Total: 40
  160. - CPU plays Jaden’s deck, then you duel Para
  161. - You don’t get a chance to save after editing Jaden’s deck, so if you lose you have to remake the deck
  162.
  163. *****
  164.
  165. - 3 days after, find and duel Chumley in the Hot Spring area as an event marker. Two days after this he goes to your room
  166.
  167. - Chazz event marker appears at Ra Yellow Area for a duel. Then beat both of Chazz’s lackeys twice.
  168. - You ideally run into Torrey during this split to trigger Jinzo. You can eventually find him at Obelisk Blue Boys’ Dorm
  169. - Try to reset for good Mototani duels with no deck edits. Putting in 3 Dust makes sense but if you can luck into a good duel without a deck edit, it’s faster.
  170.
  171. - Then at night, meet Alexis at the lighthouse to trigger a cutscene, you don’t duel her here.
  172. - Event may not trigger if your last needed duel is the same night you try to trigger Alexis. Has failed for me when I duel lackeys first and Chazz after.
  173.
  174. *****
  175.
  176. - Next day Jinzo event triggers when you enter your room at night, go to new place in the upper right of the Slifer Red area
  177.
  178. - Duel Dimitri in the Slifer Red area, try to find him during the evening or night. Directly afterwards, duel Tyranno right in front of the Slifer Red Dorm. (May need to wait until morning next school day)
  179.
  180. - The next school day, Dimitri event triggers as a random encounter in the Slifer Red area at night
  181.
  182. *****
  183.
  184. - 2 days later, Tyranno 2 appears in your room at night, can save and head outside to duel him
  185.
  186. - Bastion and Jaden school duel event triggers, beat both. After you beat Bastion, mash B and click the touch pad to make sure you can exit and save
  187.
  188. *****
  189.
  190. - 2 days later, Tyranno 3 appears in front of the Slifer Red Dorm
  191.
  192. - 2 school days later, Chazz North Academy event triggers, it’s a match so beat him twice
  193.
  194. *****
  195.
  196. - 2-3 school days later, you go to Sheppard’s office and trigger the Shadow Riders event. You basically have to manually enter a new 4th field inside the school over and over to progress this part of the game
  197.
  198. - Nightshroud triggers as a random encounter at Slifer Red area at night
  199.
  200. - Camula triggers 2 days later at Ra Yellow area (VERY LATE) at night as an event marker, then as a castle the same place next night
  201. (Bastion’s simping throughout the game is just odd lol)
  202.
  203. - Tania triggers next school day as a Colosseum at the Hot Springs area at night, then you duel her the next night
  204.
  205. - Don Zaloog triggers when you try to sleep, then as an event marker outside Slifer Red dorm
  206.
  207. - Abidos triggers at the Lighthouse at night
  208.
  209. - Titan triggers by going to the Medical Office, a new area inside school building. Then, go to your room, Jaden appears. Then go to the Abandoned Dorm in the Forest area at night.
  210. - Titan Notes: Has DD Assailant, Spirt Reaper, Wall of Illusion, Night Assailant as sets, as well as Slate Warrior. Ring of Destruction and Battle Scarred are his scarier backrow cards
  211.
  212. - Amnael/Banner triggers two school days later at the Abandoned Dorm, beat him twice. It’s a killer to reset out of the 2nd and face him twice again
  213. - Amnael Notes: Has 2 DD Warrior, DD Assailant, Spirit Reaper, Morphing Jar, and DD Warrior Lady. Also has Mirror, Torrential, and Ring, also has Grand Convergence. No Lightning Vortex
  214.
  215. *****
  216.
  217. - Event marker appears at the Harbor in the Slifer Red area, then another down low in the Hot Spring area. Beat Atticus and Chazz.
  218. - Atticus Notes: Magic Cylinder, 1500 ATK Searchers, Trap Hole, Fissure
  219. - Chazz Notes: Runs stall cards, Marshmellon, Spirit Reaper, Lava Golem, Mirror
  220.
  221. - Leave the area and come back, Kagemaru triggers. Edit the deck, take out Crossout and a Monster Gate for a 3rd Tomato and 3rd E-Con. Have to beat Kagemaru 3 times after he summons each individual Sacred Beast
  222. - Kagemaru 1 Notes: Has 3 Decree as traps
  223. - Kagemaru 2 Notes: Lots of annoying traps, the only spell is Gold Sarc
  224. - Kagemaru 3 Notes: Fairly regular deck with plenty fiend cards
  225. - Probably the least consistent part of the run. 3 E-Con and 3 Brain Control are good counters, try to set more monsters to stall and hope the Sacred Beasts are summoned quickly. Resetting a duel that’s very slow or going nowhere is smart
  226.
  227. *****
  228.
  229. - Edit the deck back to how it was
  230.
  231. - Next is another Chumley event, enter your room at night for a cutscene, then an event marker appears right outside Slifer Red Dorm, beat him. Chumley then leaves 2 school days later
  232. - Chumley Notes: Has Scapegoat, Dust, Magic Drain, and Sakaretsu Armor
  233.
  234. - Zane event triggers, duel him the next day.
  235. - Zane Notes: Has 2 Gear Golem, 3 Reflect Bounder, Lightning Vortex, Bottomless, Mirror, Ring, and Torrential
  236.
  237. - Aster triggers by manually entering the Slifer Red Dorm, not just clicking the button to go to your room automatically
  238. - Aster Notes: Has Magic Jammer, Mirror, Ring, and Torrential
  239.
  240. - Tyranno 4 triggers directly after Aster
  241. - Tyranno 4 Notes: Has Spirit Reaper, Hammer Shot, Lightning Vortex, Smashing, Bottomless, Dust, Ring, and Torrential
  242.
  243. *****
  244.
  245. - The next day, manually head INTO the school to trigger the next Aster cutscene, talking about Zane. Yes, it doesn’t just happen automatically like almost every other event. Yes, it’s stupid.
  246.
  247. - The same day at night, Jaden appears when you enter your room. Find Syrus as an event marker down low in the Hot Spring area
  248.
  249. - Next day you’re told to go to Duel Field where Sheppard announces the tournament. Then, you need to get a ship arrive on a Sunday for Chumley appear. This can feel like it takes FOREVER but you literally need to skip time as fast as you can until Chumley appears in your room on a Sunday morning. Dumbass game tbh.
  250.
  251. - Next a cutscene tells you that Chazz will duel Zane. Go to your room, another cutscene happens. An event marker appears right outside. Then at night, go to an event marker down low in the Hot Spring area, then the Forest area and head north into the usually hidden Volcano area for another event marker and duel Nightshroud/Atticus
  252. - Nightshroud Notes: Has Spirit Reaper, Smashing, 2 Stomping Destruction, 1 Sakaretsu, and Mirror
  253.
  254. - A cutscene happens Thursday, then at night enter your room, and another cutscene happens that starts an Endless Night. Find Alexis at the lighthouse, then Syrus as a random encounter in the Slifer Red area. Then go to the Volcano for an event marker and beat Dark Zane
  255. - Zane Notes: Has 3 Gear Golem, 3 Reflect Bounder, Dark World Lightning, Lightning Vortex, Mirror, and Torrential
  256.
  257. - On Friday, beat Aster and Jaden twice in match duels and the run ends. After you beat Aster, mash B and click the touch pad to make sure you can exit and save
  258. - Aster Notes: Has Doomcalibur Knight, Breaker, D-Counter, D-Shield, and Mirror
  259. - Jaden Notes: Has Marshmellon, Treeborn, Dandylion, Scapegoat, Shrink, Smashing, Call, Cylinder, Mirror, and Torrential
  260.
