- BASIC RULES
- This is a 2000 point, GT2022 T5S2 event run on the TacticalTortoise Discord server (discord (dot) com/invite/rBhVKrt) and as such will use ALL T5S2 event rules.
- Communication between players and their captain is encouraged during the playing process, and allowed during gameplay, however players are not allowed to give advice via voice chat during gameplay (this is just to avoid confusion and speaking over opponents).
- This is a GLOBAL event; so while the schedule is listed in EST, players may be paired with opponents outside their time zone and are expected to adjust their schedule accordingly. If they cannot, they are expected to concede their game.
- PAIRINGS PROCEDURE
- Each round a mission+map combination will be posted for each table to use during that round from the T5S2 Season 5 Map Pool (found on tts40k.com/maps).
- Teams will be paired based on their record. As soon as possible after pairings are posted, the team captains should communicate to determine player pairings based on the following procedure:
- 1. The team with the higher placing will choose whether they are Team A, or Team B during the process (this means that the first round selection will be random).
- 2. Team B captain presents their first player.
- 3. Team A captain then nominates two of their players to be potential opponents for the first player.
- 4. Team B captain chooses which player from the two nominated players to be paired with the first player. This is the Table 1 pairing. The player they do not choose remains presented.
- 5. Team B captain nominates 2 of their remaining players to be potential opponents for the presented player.
- 6. Team A captain chooses which player from the two nominated players to be paired with the presented player. The player they do not choose remains presented.
- 7. Team A captain then nominates two of their players to be potential opponents for the presented player.
- 8. Team B captain chooses which player from the two nominated players to be paired with the presented player. The player they do not choose remains presented.
- 9. Team B captain then nominates two of their players to be potential opponents for the presented player.
- 10. Team A captain chooses which player from the two nominated players to be paired with the presented player. This is the Table 4 pairing. The player they do not choose remains presented.
- 11. The two remaining players are paired. This is the Table 5 pairing.
- TOURNAMENT FORMAT
- The team with the most game wins during a round will win that match in that round.
- One round is to be played each week (scores will be due at midnight EST each Sunday, and new pairings will be posted every Monday). Unsubmitted scores may result in a draw or game loss. The event will last 4 rounds.
- Unplayed games will result in a 0-0 score being submitted, unless one player concedes or is unresponsive, in which case their opponent scores 80-0.
- In the event a game cannot be scheduled or completed before the end of the round, an extension may be applied for by contacting a Tournament Organizer (jk it's just Trevy) at least 24 hrs before that round's end. If granted (barring extenuating circumstances each team will only be eligible for one extension), a dummy score will be entered which will apply for the next round's pairing process. The postponed game must be resolved and the final score entered within 24 hrs of the round's end.
- Each player must play the army that they submitted for the event; however each team is allowed one substitution during the event. In this case another player from their team may play their army for that round.
- Each game will be played using Chapter Approved: Grand Tournament 2022 rules, alongside the T5S2 Event Regulations, including the following addendums/additions:
- Any faction keyword may only be included in one list per team, with the following exceptions:
- Imperium, Chaos, Aeldari, Unaligned, Officio Assassinorum, Inquisition, Ordo Xenos, Ordo Malleus, Ordo Hereticus, Adeptus Ministorum, Astra Telepathica, Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh, Tzeentch
- Tyranids may be included in two lists if one of those lists only includes Tyranids models with the Genestealer Cult or Brood Brothers keywords.
- For the purposes of this limit, ignore the Heretic Astartes keyword on Thousand Sons and Death Guard.
-
- Players are to submit a Battle Forged army no greater than 2,000 pts, with all pre-game selections (Warlord, Warlord Traits, Psychic Powers, Relics, muster-phase stratagems and abilities, etc.) indicated on their list. Lists must be submitted in a format that can be verified by the Best Coast Pairings list checker.
- Each round will use the mission and terrain setup selected for it during the pairing process.
- In the event of a concession, the conceding player retains the VPs they have scored up until that point. The other player may then continue playing to score additional VPs as if their opponent had no remaining time.
- PRIZES
- All participants will receive T5S2 standings points; door prizes and prizes for the top ranked teams will be awarded depending on participation.
