  2. I really enjoy the show and Mike I hope the move goes well this week. Well at least as well as it can go with the whole phantom house thing.

  4. I remember Mike talking about subcontract work on a previous episode but would be interested on hearing more. I'm a developer and decided to go out on my own as a freelancer. I did side gigs for several months and eventually had enough business to go full-time.

  6. That was just over a year ago and things have gone about as well as could be expected. I've been able to just about double my previous income and for several months last year my family and I traveled a round the country in a travel trailer since I could wo rk from pretty much anywhere.

  8. As I said I've been lucky with the clients I have and they are long term contracts but if something were to happen with them it would be difficult for me to replace them since I am not only the development branch I am also marketing and all the other necessary functions of a small business.

  10. Recently I've been approached to do some subcontracting for larger agencies an d have even done a couple of small jobs for them. The money is good and I get to leverage their sales department and internal re sources which I couldn't match on my own.

  12. I'm leaning to allocating more of my time to subcontracting but trying to weight the risks and benefits of ea ch option.

  14. Anyway I thought this may be somewhat of an interesting topic for discussion.
