- >Luna awoke from her nap and immediately lurch-sprinted into the bathroom.
- >It was the kind of nap that left you tired afterward, the kind that needed some extra persuasion just to get you up and out.
- >Luna splashed her face with water, and tried to make herself feel presentable.
- >"Well hello, beautiful."
- >Luna looked into the mirror to see Lulu staring back at her.
- >"What's cookin', good lookin'?"
- >Luna splashed herself with water again, rubbed her eyes, and looked in the mirror again.
- >"How's life treating you, Luna? Or should I say, Lulu?"
- >"I'm not Lulu. Go away, whatever you are."
- >"Oh, wait, that's right, I forgot. You're just another small-town dyke who wants to make it big but doesn't have what it takes."
- >Lulu cackled.
- >Luna's only response was to head back into her room.
- >She had CS homework to do, guitar scales to practice, amps to repair.
- >She didn't have time to argue with herself over nothing.
- >So she sat down at her desk and began her work.
- >UR A FAILURE
- >Luna looked at her IRC client.
- >Some bitch was messaging her.
- >UR A FAILURE
- >So was some bitch on twitter.
- >UR A FAILURE
- >UR A FAILURE
- >UR A FAILURE
- >UR A FAILURE
- >Now it seemed like everything she owned an account on was blowing up with this one sentence.
- >It was definitely Luan.
- >But all it was doing was pissing her off.
- >Luna prepared to go downstairs and give Luan a piece of her mind when her phone dinged.
- >A text message with a picture in it.
- >Luna, full of curiosity, opened it.
- >Sam was kissing Lulu on the cheek.
- >UR A FAILURE
- >There was no goddamn way.
- >Luna almost threw her phone across the room, but stopped just short.
- >Her phone buzzed with a request to facetime.
- >She stared at the phone, shook her head, and answered.
- >Lulu was sitting there in some sort of dressing room, her face made up immaculately.
- >"Hiiiiii, Luna! You know who would make you feel all better for being a failure? Lincoln could!"
- >Luna's eyebrow raised.
- >"Why would you think Lincoln would help? It's literally nothing I haven't dealt with before."
- >"But he's always there to help when you need him, isn't he? He's so sweet and cute! Don't you just wanna fuck him?"
- >Luna's jaw dropped.
- >"What the fuck are you saying? I don't wanna do that!"
- >"I mean, you can't lie to yourself as well as you think you can. He's just so damn fuckable. That cute white hair and those buck teeth make him look like a little bunny rabbit. You think he fucks like one? Oh, what am I saying? Of course he does!"
- >Lulu panned the camera around to show Lincoln and Leni.
- >Except they were fucking on the couch.
- >Wild, rough, animalistic fucking.
- >"Oh Linky! Stuff my turkey! Put it righti in there!"
- >Lincoln said nothing, only panting and moaning with each thrust.
- >"When you're a success like me, you need some stress relief. So I invited him over to give it all to me. I needed a nice little break from the raw-dogging he gave me, so I thought I'd show you what you were missing out on. Byyyyeeeeee!"
- >The feed cut out.
- >And all the phone showed was Luna's reflection in tears.
- >She said nothing, only putting her phone down and curling up into a ball of depression.
- >It was true, Luna might have had a tiny little crush on her little brother Lincoln.
- >But nothing like that, and nothing so... blatant.
- >The next few hours were a blur.
- >All Luna knew was that she found herself wandering into Lola and Lana's room, and finding Lynn hiding under Lola's bed.
- >"Lynn? W-what are you doing h-here?
- >"I'm hiding from Leni. She keeps trying to make me try this stupid wardrobe she picked out for me. What are YOU doing here, Eeyore? You've been moping around the house all day."
- >"It's j-just some stupid prank by Luan. I'll be f-f-fine."
- >"Sure, whatever. Don't give my hiding spot away and don't tell Leni anything."
- >Luna trudged out of Lola's room and into the hallway.
- >Lulu stood at the other end.
- >She extended a single finger at Luna, and let her know to come hither.
- >Luna only walked downstairs.
- >Lori lounged on the couch, absent-mindedly texting and tweeting.
- >"Lori, do you think I did the right thing?"
- >"The right thing for what."
- >"You know... the contest."
- >Lori sighed, sat up, and put away her phone.
- >"I don't know, Luna. I literally have no idea."
- >"Oh, I see."
- >Luna turned to walk away, but Lori patted the couch.
- >"C'mere, sit next to me."
- >Luna obliged.
- >"Luna, you're gonna lose. You're gonna miss out. You're gonna fail. That's something you literally can't change."
- >"But what if I-"
- >"You literally said that you wanted to do your own thing. That Lulu gimmick or whatever literally might not've even won you the contest at all."
- >Luna looked down at her feet.
- >"But you did something literally no one expected. You did something that not even Lisa would've predicted. You did your thing in the face of massive peer pressure. You literally may not have won anything, but you made an impression on everyone there. You weren't literally just another entrant; you were Luna. And that's more important than literally anything that we could ask for at that performance."
- >"So you're saying that if I had won as Lulu, I would've lost as Luna?"
- >"No. I'm literally saying that I'd be happy with you and love you as my little sister with literally anything you would've done. You'll literally always be a success to me."
- >Luna looked at Lori and smiled genuinely.
- >The two embraced each other in sororal love, before Luna went back upstairs.
- >Her phone buzzed with another text.
- >Lulu's text was nowhere to be found, but a text from Chunk was there instead.
- >U there Luna?
- >I got u an audition playin guitar w/ Mick Swagger
- >Luna didn't even finish reading the rest of the texts before she ran out the room whooping and hollering.
- >Back in their room, Luan quietly smiled to herself.
- >This audition was the least she could do for her sister.
