  2. The Village Hidden In The Mist has seen dark times; corruption began to seep into the village after Obito Uchiha became secret leader of Kirigakure, using jinchuriki Yagura as a pawn in his scheme for power. But with Yagura being deceased now & the former Mizukage ready to step down from their position, the title of Kage was to be passed to the next capable shinobi/kunoichi the village had to offer - though, being the leader of an entire nation was nothing simple and choosing someone who had the village's best interest in mind, instead of their own, would be tough to decide. The council that governed the water-based nation would spend days, maybe even weeks, discussing and analyzing Kirigakure's finest ninja; checking their mission success rates, abilities, backgrounds, etc. to choose the perfect person for the job. Word is that a talented kunoichi - as well as a member of the Hozuki Clan, a family which has seen Mizukage status years prior - is a candidate for the choosing.
  3.
  4. But while Kirigakure began the electing process, elsewhere on the outskirts of the nation, the nefarious Obito Uchiha - who's control over Kirigakure became significantly decreased with the death of Yagura - schemed merrily; within the confines of a dark, damp cave, Obito awaited a meeting with one of his associates, a fellow Uchiha. Sitting with his right foot propped up against his left thigh, Obito waited in silence; the eye-hole of his mask was like an empty void, darkness only filled the space where his eye was. His crimson-red Sharingan remained activated, leering off into the distance; he became annoyed, awaiting the arrival of Shun Uchiha. "So, the Land of the Water, eh?" Walking across the shoreline of the nation with a satchel in hand, lit cigarette in mouth, Shun Uchiha panned off into the distance, narrowing his eyes at the cave formations that were forged into the rocky formations of the beach-like land - he spotted the dark cave that Obito awaited him in. Shun didn't look like the average Uchiha, nor wore the standard Uchiha attire - he was a stubble faced man in his early to mid 20's, roughly about 6 ft., and an above average build, but maintaining an almost slimness to his figure; he was very agile and quick on his feet but possessed almost unbelievable strength, larger opponents tend to become startled by such power. He sported the standard shinobi footwear, as well slightly baggy pants that contained an assortment of pockets for ninja tools. With the fall beginning to settle, the Land of Water began to cool down, becoming chilly - the water present in the air only made things colder so Shun wore a body-slim onyx winter jacket; the rim of the jacket's hood was covered in a tan-hued pelt of fur, similar to Hidan's before his Akatsuki days. "I can only imagine what the job is this time; that low-down scoundrel is always up to something, but I need the pay, I have to take care of those brats.."
  5.
  6. Shun was the single father of two kids; his wife perishing years ago from an unknown and unstoppable disease, leaving him to care for them himself. This led him to life of crime, becoming a paid hitman to provide for them; if the price was reasonable, he was willing to kill anyone. And this brought him to Kirigakure, while his children remained in hiding during his "business trip". After a short period of walking, Shun reached the opening of the cave; he peered in the cave before removing the hood of his jacket. Cupping his hand next to his mouth to strengthen the echo to go through the cave, he then called out: "I don't have time for this, Tobi; can we discuss the bounty before I do what's needed?" The call echoed and ricocheted off the cave walls before a deep voice responded: "It's always been a money thing with you, Uchiha Shun." Before Shun's very eyes, a swirl began to rip through the air itself before a disgruntled figure began to form as it settled, revealing who it was. "Well, I have two ankle-biters that need to be taken care of; I could careless about your motives, they don't benefit me - I only do this stupid shit for a pay check. If someone paid me off enough, I'd kill you myself." Shun snarled at Tobi, his expression annoyed by his comment. Tobi chortled quietly for a second before looking @ Shun, Sharingan activated. But he was met with the gaze of Shun's own Sharingan - crimson-red, containing a complex pattern for the pupil. The pattern was reminiscent to round saw blade, having jagged edges rimming the iris. "You sure you wanna take there?" Shun asked before Tobi narrowed an eye, scoffing; Shun then proceeded to give a half-smile before closing his eyes and deactivating his kekkai genkai. "Now, let's get to business; a Hozuki girl shows much promise in reforming the Mist, which could throw away all the effort I put into sabotaging the land for my own plans." Tobi said as he began to pace back and forth, hands behind his back. "She's a popular candidate in the Mist; assassination attempts by local rebellions have been ceased as the people rally to support and protect her until election day. I want you to go undercover, gain her trust.. then I want you to kill her; bring her head back to me for confirmation." Tobi demanded as he allowed his hands to dangle freely; a spiral similar to the one Tobi appeared from began to form near his right hand at a smaller scale as a brief case teleported into it. "Do that and 35,000,000 ryo is yours." Tobi then began to undo the locks on the case before revealing the money, confirming that it was all there. Shun's eyes panned over the cash before looking @ Tobi: "Alright.. Let's get this shit done and over with."
  7.
  8. Back in Kirigakure, another meeting was called for all participating members of the Mizukage candidacy; elders wished to get a better understanding of the individual candidates' plans to better the village. All while this was going down, an spy planted in the meeting by Tobi would attempt an assassination on them. Shun - now driven to hold his end of the bargain - rode the back of giant summoned vulture as it soared through the skies, closing in on the Mist. "I planted a decoy in the meeting happening in Kirigakure, he's unknowing of your impending arrival and will attempt to kill her first. Stop and kill him to solidify your place in the Mist." (E)
  9.
  10. hozukisuika:
  11. The chill was heavy in the air, but it wasn't anything new to Suika. She's lived in Kirigakure for the majority of her life, save for the last several years. She was already in her 30s, childless still for good reasons, and already feared by many for her proweress as a Shark Sage and her dark deeds done in the village before she was forced to flee. Of course, that was well over 10 years ago, and she lived in the forests of her homeland hunting those who intended to hurt her home village or have already done so. Not many even knew of her selfless acts primarily due to having known her selfish act of slaying a councilman. Still, when it came to light what her true intentions for the village were, it sparked interest in the councilman to have her as a candidate as the new Mizukage.
  12.
  13. She felt proud having them in her favor by far, having taken on the role of a new Jinchuuriki for the sake of giving herself more strength, creating a heavier fear in her since she already owned the Kubikirichoucou. The very sword had history in it, having previously been owned by her dead beloved, killed by her own hands for the sake of the councilman that held her life in his hands. The same sword was used to cut that leash he had on her, cutting him down, that very act having soiled her reputation and got her exiled. That very sword she kept sealed in a scroll that she carried on her backside along with a few other scrolls that held other sealed weapons and even chakra built up for other purposes.
  14.
  15. Due to the sealing of the 6-tailed in her, her once long and proud white hair was forced shorter into a pixie cut, which seemed to grace her head much better than before. She didn't mind this cut, having kept it the way it was. The sealing used on her was a more complicated sealing that allowed her an easier access to the chakra of the tailed beast and a closer bond with the acid beast. After many sessions of training, she had made quick learning of the new techniques, allowing even her fluid form to have a form of acidity to it if she so chooses. She even came with a new wardrobe wear, a blue, sleeveless qi-pao based top that meshed to a neckband with her shoulders bare, belled sleeves of gray coloring and her band wrapped around her waist with the metal marking Kirigakure at the center of her abdomen. She also wore cow-patterned loose pants under the split qi-pao that revealed her hips to an extend, the pants wrapping around her heeled sandals of gray. Her nails were painted blue to match along, although it was rare. What once were painted black lips were now bare, a sort of redemption for her. Being a Hozuki, of course her eyes held a purple hue and her teeth sharpened, but even more so than normal due to her natural shark-like qualities to her. The one mark that made her distinct, however, was the tattoo underneath her left eye that she's had since she was a kid, a sign of strength for her. The tattoo had two arcs perpindicular to her bottom eyelid, three dots between the two arcs.
  16.
  17. She, indeed, stood out moreso than the rest of the candidates. Doesn't help how the others spoke of her in whispers, knowing of her history and questioning why she was even there to begin with. She ignored those comments though, wanting to keep peace. She's learned that words don't always mean anything, she'll prove her worth to them one day. It was time for the meeting for them, having stood in a proper line in the primary office of the elders. Something ebbed at her the while during the interviewing of each candidate, like something or someone had been staring at her this whole time with some sort of intent. Because of her closeness to her Sharks and a natural killing instict that came with the sage mode, she could naturally sense a sort of killing intent from a short distance away and it made her uneasy. Still, she kept her form as she awaited her turn to speak with the Elders as to why she should be Mizukage, despite their dislikes of her.
  18.
  19. "Maa, these interviews are so long and arduous..." One of the candidates complained nearby, a sigh of exasperation escaping his lips.
  20. "They have to fully evaluate everyone, so of course they'll be long and difficult. They have to make sure they're picking the right person for the position." Suika returned, her purple hues glancing over at the male that spoke.
  21. "Hahhh?! Nobody asked you for your opinion, damned criminal!" He retorted at her agitatingly.
  22. She merely clenched her fists in agitation, releasing a sigh of irritation before she looked forward again.
  23.
  24. "What, you got something to say!?" He suddenly stood up, putting up a front of anger at her. "Come at me then! You shouldn't even be here anyway, I should just put you down where you stand!"
  25. She lowered her head slightly in a sort of politeness before folding her hands in her lap, glancing up at the male with a hard stare. "If I so choose so, I could leave your corpse in a back alley unrecognizeable beyond comprehension and you'll be long forgotten."
  26. That's when he attempted to grab a hold of her neck, trying to fight her. To her, he moved too slow for her, being a master of Taijutsu. She had caught his arm by the elbow, her opposing hand back against his wrist to push his arm to the side with such precision and speed, it was surprising to him. At this point, she had stood up, her fingers digging into the pressure points in his elbow as if she intended to split apart his arm and dislocate his elbow. She had the expression of disappointment, his the look of fear for just a moment before anger overwhelmed him as he tried to go at her again with a fist using his opposing arm, of which she countered by swinging the arm she held around and forcing him to turn around, locking it behind his back in an arm-hold.
  27.
  28. "Do you intend to still fight me?" She questioned. "I'm sure the elders would appreciate that we didn't fight, it doesn't show any positivity for the candidancy."
  29.
  30. shvn:
  31. Other potential candidates flocked into a crowd, surrounding the Suika and the shinobi who attempted to attack her. "It's her!", "The legend was true..", "Did she you see how quick she disarmed him!?" Villagers of the Hidden Mist murmured amongst themselves, shocked at how quickly this graceful and nimble kunoichi overpowered a top tier shinobi - running for candidacy was sign of power, being the best of the best and Suika showed dominance over the others with little effort. "Behave yourselves!" The raspy sound of an elderly voice was heard before several coughs followed; a bald gentleman, eyes low as if closed and a long pointed beard stepped forward, looking at the crowd of potential Mizukage. "Ohoho! Aggressive as always, 6-Tails." The elder said to Suika; because of her jinchuriki status, she was merely seen as a weapon of mass destruction that could easily thwart nefarious foes who wished to the water-based village in shambles.
  32.
  33. "But, enough - pull any further and you might break his arm, ohoho!" He said, stroking his beard before beginning to speak to the masses. "Welcome! Welcome all to this wonderful meeting.. We all know why this gathering has been put together - with the Will of Fire has begun to wither and flicker within Kiriagakure from years of corruption and malevolence." He narrowed his eyes into the crowd, analyzing all the surprised looks as they listened closely. "Yagura, Mei Terumi, many have taken the mantle of Mizukage, but not without understanding the responsibility that comes with it - our nation is @ a standstill and we need to rebuild ourselves stronger than before. But how will we do so with no guidance? How can we rebuild without a leader to show us the way?" Before he continued to speak, the older gentle open his hand and within his palm, he began to knead chakra into a sphere of water - about the size of a baseball. "Like water, our leader must be calm and fluid; with the Will of Water, one must be shapeless, formless.." Looking over to the side of him, a servant brought a simple cup before placing it in the elder's idle hand; he clenched his fist with the ball of aqua still in hand before the water began to pour itself into the glass. "When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. You - as the Mizukage - are water and your duties as leader, as well as loyalty and love for this village becomes the cup." He finished his speech by sipping from the cup momentarily.
  34.
  35. "Tuh!" The elder would spit up the water as he heard something burst through a nearby window - a silver-tipped arrow riddled with poison. The projectile struck him in the chest as he fell backwards, sliding against the wall and wincing in pain; the shot was practically fatal, hitting him in the heart side of his chest. His eyes began droopy as he tried to remain conscious, but with the poison settling in and rapid blood loss, he was slowly slipping. "What's going on!? The elder.." Villagers began to panic, looking about to see who the culprit was; an explosion erupted from the further wall to everyone, creating an opening where a shadowy figure stood. "Don't you think you should hold meetings like this in privacy? Like, every potential Kage worthy shinobi is here, this is a literal jackpot." The man said as he stepped inside the building, beginning to quickly fight off anyone who came his direction for a fight - quick punches and kicks were delivered whenever a reckless villager attempted to attack, only using the momentum of their attack against them. The man wielded a blade as well, which he hacked and slashed with momentarily as the numbers began to dwindle.
  36.
  37. "Suika Hozuki; I'm here for the 6-Tailed jinchuriki!" He said, laughing wickedly before scanning the perimeter. "So, that's how you enter meetings? How unprofessional." In a nonchalant voice, Shun finally made his appearance; he sat his body against the edge of the opening, shaking his head slowly. "AND WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU? Just another pest trying to stop my conquest!" He said angrily before dashing towards Shun; as he slashed the blade diagonally towards Shun, in a blast of feathery speed, the vulture Shun could summon caught the blade with its three-toed talon. "WHAT!? WHAT THE HELL IS THIS--" Before the surprised assassin could finish, the bird lifted one of its wings, infusing wind-based chakra into it before swinging a powerful gust of wind @ the shinobi, causing him to fly backwards and hit a wall. "What are you? WHO ARE YOU?" The man yelled, rubbing the back of his head quickly. Shun crossed his arms before nodding his head at the avian creature, telling it to finish the job. Flexing its razor sharp talon momentarily, the bird would lunge its body forward - feet first - and impaled all six sharp talon claws into the male's midsection, causing him to cough up some of his blood. The bird then began to peck at the shinobi's dying corpse, he took in his last agonizing breaths as the bird began to tear him to pieces.
  38.
  39. "So, Kirigakure.. Been awhile since I've been here, things haven't changed; to think these guys were potential Kage material." Shun looked at the piles of bodies sprawled; injured, mortally wounded or already deceased. He released a heavy sigh before removing his red box of his cigarettes, removing one from the packet and tucking it between his lips. He completely disregarded anybody else who was there as he sat down in the middle of the floor, thinking for a short while during his smoke session. (E)
  40.
  41. hozukisuika:
  42. The entrance of the elder had caused the commotion to fall silent as his words filled the room. Once she was sure the other wasn't going to continue his actions, she'd release the shinobi before turning to place her hands together and taking a bow before the elder. She showed high respect towards him, as if she'd known him for quite a while. Of course, she did know him. He knew her history and why she did what she did back then, knew how his fellow councilman had betrayed her with his cruelty, questioning her loyalty without giving her a chance to reply.
  43.
  44. "I apologize, I had to do what I had to." She replied almost solemnly before standing up straight, her hands relaxed at her sides now. The way she looked at him showed a little more softness, much more like an old friend. Once he began his speech once more, she resumed her previous stance with her hands folded behind her back, her head held high in pride. However, she felt something prick at the back of her neck, mere moments before the arrow came shooting through the window. She could sense the intent, but couldn't react in time to stop the arrow before it penetrated the old man in the heart.
  45.
  46. Of course, it didn't take long for her to realize it's poisoning, the scent normally invisible to others. She gave a shout as if for the old man before dashing to his side as the intruder came barging in through an explosion in the wall. She felt her anger welling up as she put her hands around the wound of the elder. She had to do something about this before he pased away before her.
  47.
  48. "Stupid old man.. I need you to stay awake..." She whispered to him, slowly pulling the arrow from the wound. She had to be careful about this and prepared to hold pressure to the wound. Tears began to well up in her eyes as she put pressure to the wound. The poison had circulated through his body already, his passing nearing as her title was called out. She gritted her teeth, suppressing her urge to go after the man who had done this to the old man.
  49.
  50. However, before she could stand up to attack the male, another had appeared, her head turning to the Uchiha who made his appearance. With them distracted, she began her work on the elder, in hopes to save him just barely in time. She let part of her wrist melt into his wound while keeping it closed, spreading the water out through his veins to capture every bit of poison that traveled his vessels. She didn't intend to let him die, not yet.
  51.
  52. Even when the battle had ended and the life of the old man was lost, she kept there with her hands over his wound, his blood covering her hands. The mass amounts of blood in the room was immense, the scent even more so and it made her head ache. Not because she couldn't stand the smell of blood, but rather that she felt a love for the scent. She was having a tough time suppressing her urges, despite the enemy was gone. She had to stay calm, repress her feelings and clear her face of the tears. After moments of silence except for the Uchiha's speaking, she finally stood up from the corpse of the elder, covered in his blood.
  53.
  54. "The blood of an elder covers me once more... At least it wasn't my fault he died this time.. If only I could have stopped it." She muttered to herself before slowly turning around, her purple hues falling on the man that stood unharmed from the miniscule fight. She then scowered over the bodies of all the unconscious or dead shinobi, the mass amounts of blood that spilled between. "Damn... To think he had that much strength to slaughter everyone." Her eyes fell back up at him. "Whoever you are, thank you. I must get the medics now to save whomever is left... If you can help, I would like you to help me carry the living to the hospital to get immediate care."
  55.
  56. With that said, she formed a seal and summoned two water clones of herself and began picking up whomever was left alive one to one clone. "You guys ought to be careful what you do.. Always evaluate your opponent before charging in at him. So much for being candidates of the Mizukage." She sighed to herself, carrying the people to the hospital quickly.
  57.
  58. shvn:
  59. Shun scanned the room, looking at the injured and deceased bodies. He gave a sigh, then somewhat of a chortle before palming his face lightly, holding the cherry of the lit tobacco away from his face. "This shit's pathetic, honestly; a room full of Kage-level shinobi and they're taken out by this guy.." Shun said to himself, beginning to slowly walk towards the wounded councilman. It was lost hope; he laid there in a pool of his own blood, the poison settling in quickly and euthanizing him. Shun closed his eyes, a shakiness taking over him as he thought of the carnage caused by Tobi and his own hands; he placed the tobacco to his lips once again, inhaling its contents before hearing the Hozuki girl's request to assist with the injured. Without a word, Shun turned his head and clicked his teeth as the vulture turned around quickly, making a clicking noise before it began to walk around the meeting room, picking people up by their clothing and placing them on its back.
  60.
  61. "It's the circle of life; we live to eventually die.." Shun spoke out loud as he analyzed the deceased elder. "The fire we call life burns quietly; it can be extinguished at any moment." The Uchiha then tossed his cigarette to the ground and put a foot on it, killing the burning cherry on it and turning his back to the two, walking towards his summoning - it reached its maximum capacity, having a back full of injured people. "Shun Uchiha, in case you were curious.. With this catastrophe and most of the candidates incapacitated or dead, you'll likely become the Mizukage. And with things like what happened today going on, you'll likely need some backup.." Shun removed a small business card from his pocket and placed it on the ground next to her. "Whenever you're ready to invest in extra muscle, don't hesitate to get in contact." With that, Shun clicked his teeth a few more times and the bird began to waddle towards the destroyed opening, taking flight towards the Kirigakure medical center.
  62.
  63. Several law enforcement shinobi rushed into the meeting hall, seeing the remaining deceased bodies and the body of the elder in cold blood. "Elder councilman! You.. you jinchuriki scum!" One of the enforcers removed a small club, running towards the downed Suika and elder. As the officer swung the club towards her, Shun quickly intervened, catching the blow with the bottom of his ninja sandals. "Hey, hey, hey.. No need to jump to conclusions; it was my fault, not the jinchuriki's." Shun's speed surprised the officers but he didn't attack - Shun actually put his hands behind his back and closed his eyes. "If anyone should be charged with the elder's death, it should be me - she attempted to resuscitate him." The officers blinked a few times, but quickly apprehended Shun as he let his guard down. "Are you alright, Lady Suika?" One of the officers asked, assisting in laying the elder's body peacefully as the others escorted Shun out of the meeting hall, hand cuffed.
  64.
  65. The vulture made it to the destination, signalling hospital administration with loud cawing sounds to alert them of her presence; they were properly taken into care and the summoning was sent back to its domain in a large poof of smoke. (E)
  66.
  67. hozukisuika:
  68. She stopped before leaving with the bodies, looking down at the card he left behind. Her clones took off, creating a third one to take the last unconscious male as she knelt down to pick up the card. "That may be true, but I'd rather prove myself worthy first." She stated as she knelt down next to the elder. She looked back towards the male who named himself Uchiha Shun, a surprise visit bursting through the doors.
  69.
  70. Slowly, she stood from the kneeling position and raised her arms as one enforcer attempted to attack her. However, a look of surprise was on her face when Shun stepped forth and took upon the claim of the deaths in this room. She narrowed her eyes at him, thoughts of questions running through her mind... Who was this man? What were his intentions? These questions only ran further through her head with more as she was approached by an officer.
  71.
  72. "Yeah.. I'm fine... Unfortunately, the old man has passed. I only hope that he will be at peace." She sighed, watching as Shun was escorted out of the building. A feeling of unease grew in her chest before she looked to the officer in question. "You don't really believe he did all this, do you?" Before he could answer her, her eyes wandered down to the mangled body of the original attacker, the very one that aimed for her throat only moments prior. The officer merely followed her gaze to the mangled body, a look of confusion on his face.
  73.
  74. "My lady.. If it wasn't him, who was it?" He asked questioningly, a look of surprise on his face. This seemed odd after all, even to him.
  75.
  76. "I want an ID of that body that's been torn beyond recognition."
  77.
  78. "Yes, ma'am!"
  79.
  80.
  81. At least a day passed since the incident, rumors having already spread around. She stayed confined to her hotel room for the majority of the time due to being the only one coming out unscathed from the incident, it rose a lot of attention to her because of this. Still, she didn't care much for what they thought of her. She just didn't feel like hearing their accusations against her, not knowing her potential and her intentions. Still, it was time she gave her new 'friend' a visit in the jail system. It'd be a long while before she would have identification of the man that intended to kill her outright.
  82.
  83. Ignoring the snide comments as she entered the enforcer headquarters. She slipped past everyone with her hands loose at her sides, looking for the cell that Shun resided in. She intended to get some answers and some assistance, despite how shady he seemed to be.
  84.
  85. shvn:
  86. “So, he’s the one they’re prosecuting for the elder’s death?” Sitting in a shadow consumed corner in his cell, the detention center’s staff and inmates alike quietly talked about the Uchiha who suddenly appeared in Kirigakure. Shun’s wrists were bounded by chakra inhibitors, disabling his ability to perform ninjutsu in order to escape. His eyes were also blindfolded so he couldn’t use genjutsu.
  87.
  88. A clanging sound on the bars of the cell was heard as Shun lifted his head up, listening carefully for who it was. “An Uchiha, alive and well.. Isn’t this a sight?” The warden of the detention center gloated outside of Shun’s cell, looking in to the Uchiha bounded and defenseless. “It honestly would be best for us to keep you conserved in here, seeing as your clan has already been dwindled down to nothing and you’re quiet the criminal.. You’re listed in the Bingo Book as an S-Rank criminal.” Shun sat quietly, listening to the warden before sighing softly. “A big man, judging from the outside, looking in.. Believe what you want, can I have a cigarette please?” Shun requested, shying away from arguing with the man over his snide remarks. “Actually, you have a visitor.. Bring Lady Hozuki forward. Show some respect and gratitude for our potential Mizukage candidate, she’s been your lifeline thus far.”
  89.
  90. Opening the cell, the warden and several guards escorted the blindfolded Uchiha towards a small interrogation type of setting with a table and two chairs adjacent from one another on each side of the table. “You will be met here for further questioning by Lady Hozuki.” (E)
  91.
  92. hozukisuika:
  93. After a moment of speaking with another Guard, she took notice as they had brought in the Uchiha from before into the room she was intended to go to. She was well aware that they would be listening on their conversation.. She intended to use a sound seal so they could have a more.. private conversation. This man had saved her life and took the fall of the man he killed that intended to kill them all. She was wanting to have some answers out of him, why he took the blame. They were both criminals in a sense, but she wasn't sure if he was a true criminal, possibly someone who got slapped with the title and thrown into the bingo book much like herself. She was going to find this out herself.
  94.
  95. When she walked into the room and closed the door once she made sure the guards had left, she gently molded chakra into the door and placed the seal throughout the room, a soft smile on her face. "You can speak freely, Uchiha. They cannot hear us in here. Not while I've placed a sealing down."
  96.
  97. With that said, she sat down across the table from him and folded her hands in her lap. She took note that they had him blindfolded even. Was he such a bad person after all? Still, she glanced back to the glass where they would intend to watch, but were unable to hear. A grin was on her face before she looked back at the Uchiha. Being unheard, it would obviously seem suspicious and seem like she was planning something in the end.
  98.
  99. "So, Uchiha.. Why is it you took the blame that wasn't yours?"
  100.
  101. shvn:
  102. “Do you think Lady Hozuki will alright with a criminal like him?” From the one-sided window, several high ranking officers - armed and ready - monitored the potential Kage and the mysterious Uchiha. Lady Hozuki made her way into the room; the guards would begin to blink in confusion as she placed the seal on the door; one of the officers gave a snide sigh as he scoffed. “Of course, she’s likely going to sympathize with this crook..” As her lips began to move, the sound of her voice - as well as Shun’s once he responded - would be unheard, keeping their conversation confidential.
  103.
  104. Shun placed his hands upon the table, placing them together and laughing slightly. “My appearance couldn’t be mere coincident?” He said before shaking his head and sighing. “Kirigakure has been in a corrupt standstill for the last few years; after witnessing the bloodshed that took place, I simply sprung into action to protect the lives of the potential Kage. Maybe one of you guys can bring peace to this shit-hole..” Shun answered before he pointed a thumb up, pointing it towards himself. “I’ve been asking for a light for the last couple of days, I could really use a cigarette; mind grabbing my pack from my pocket pouch? It’s my only request, please..” Shun said, his foot nervously tapping on the floor, annoyed by the fact he was still blindfolded. “I have a question myself though, why did you come back to help me? You could’ve easily allowed me to take the fall, yet here you are; explain your motive, why help me when you know I’m in the Bingo Book and I’m going for big bucks?” (E)
  105.
  106. hozukisuika:
  107. She looked down at him before folding her arms. Of course, she was still suspicious of him even if just a little bit. After all, he was in the right place, right time and even took the crime upon himself rather than tell the truth. They didn't have the right guards set for the meeting anyhow. She merely sighed before responding to him.
  108.
  109. "It's highly coincidential how you appeared at the time you did, and even took the blame for yourself, rather than tell the truth and let me be your witness. Not a very smart move on you, or perhaps it was an intention. Making yourself seem selfless. Am I right?" She didn't make the move to get his cigarettes, she intended to get the truth from him first before she rewarded him with a smoke. Though, she did hear his request.
  110.
  111. "I simply want to know your intentions. That, and despite your position in the book, I can't say that I'm not in the same position as you as far as that goes. If you knew me, you'd know my history here in this village. Yet, despite this, I'm still a candidate for Mizukage. I do intened to bring peace to my home, after all the chaos I've seen."
  112.
  113. shvn:
  114. Shun laughed a bit before sighing. “Alright, you got me, you got me.. I was sent to “regulate” the candidacy for Mizukage; let’s not beat around the bush, Hozuki; those other guys running for the candidacy were easily disposed of, but you.. You stood tall amongst the masses. If anybody’s fit to run and protect this village, it’s solely you. Remember the card I gave you before I was arrested?”
  115.
  116. Shun remembered handing her his business card; it was for booking him as a bodyguard. “Becoming the Mizukage and preserving your place as such doesn’t come easy; shit, it’s beyond corrupt here, benevolence and good intentions won’t be taken lightly. People will want to stop you from unifying your village because it’s easier to control in pieces; I wanna be the one to help mend the wounds of the broken Kirigakure by serving a Mizukage with a genuine plan for his/her people. Now, can I have my cigarette please? And my starting rate is 35,000 ryō, think about it doll face; a little backup never hurts.” (E)
  117.
  118. hozukisuika:
  119. She raised a brow at his first bit of response, nodding at his question. "Yes, of course. I still have it." Still, it was a little suspicious and didn't quite answer her question as to why he took the blame, regardless. Was it perhaps because the corpse of the actual killer was too messed up to identify? No, they'd still be able to get DNA on it at least. So, what reason was it really? These thoughts filled her head as he still continued to talk, analyzing him while he spoke.
  120.
  121. She sighed at his last question and statement before nodding, walking around the table and reaching into his pocket. She still kept her eyes on him in case of any suspicious movement, pulling his cigarettes out of his pocket before pulling one from the box and setting it to his lips for him. "Here. Do you have a lighter? And I'll think upon your offer in the meantime."
  122.
  123. shvn:
  124. Shun cupped his lips inward, securing the cigarette, Shun then murmured to her; cigarette bouncing vertically up and down as he spoke: “That guy was a scout - a mere dummy sent by a kingpin in your village; now that he’s gotten the scoop on who’s the worthiest shinobi in Kirigakure, he plans to take them down and secure a iron grip over your home. Luckily enough, I was doing espionage work for a private contractor and found out his grand scheme; he’s got deep ties with officials in the village..”
  125.
  126. Shun raised his cuffed hands towards his face; his hand were worn, rugged and tough from years of war and bloodshed; his job as a mercenary wasn’t easy and required the sharpest of skills to execute. He was built tough, a force to reckoned with - his next trick would solidify that. “No lighter needed, doll; I took the fall to take the heat off of you, believe it or not, you’re a feared kunoichi - renowned for your prowess and skill, that killer instinct you harbor.. But you’re of genuine nature; possessing those attributes creates fear in those who profit from it. You would’ve been apprehended and in my position had I not showed up.” After speaking, he took the tips of his fingers, quickly swiping the end of the tobacco product, using the friction of almost hide-tough fingers to spark a flame. He inhaled, exhaling a plume of smoke into the room. “Keep it in mind, I’ll even throw you a discount on my services..”
  127.
  128. Shun could only assume after this conversation, he would likely be put on trial and hope that she would testify in his defense; she didn’t seem to keen on trusting him, but manipulation was something Shun could spin well. “So I expect the numb-nut pigs will keep me here and put me on trial for the incident, yeah?” (E)
  129.
  130. hozukisuika:
  131. She had stepped back as she let her eyes wander to his hands, watching him as he spoke. She raised a brow at his first explanation, her arms folded across her chesst as she listened to him. "I see.." That did explain a little bit about the man who had attacked the rest of the members. However, she still listened for his explanation for taking the blame. However, when he came to explaning, her eyebrows both raised at his words. He was very right on that - She was a rather strong opponent and they did initially fear her before back during her days as a Jonin...
  132.
  133. "You're very right about that..." She put a hand to her chin in thought. "But I would have also given them the truth regarding you and the enemy that did attack." She tilted her head as she watched him light a flame onto his cigarette. She would then turn around to face the window in the wall, letting her chakra release the seal she initially placed to seal the sound.
  134.
  135. "No, they won't be holding you. The truth will come forth. I will require an investigation done to do an ID on the mangled body remains from the crime scene." She folded her hands behind her back, giving a hard but serious look at the figures through the window, knowing they were watching and listening. "I will give the truth once I have an Identification on the male."
  136.
  137. shvn:
  138. Suika and Shun’s conversation continued, uninterrupted and unheard by the officers carefully watching them. Lips finally fell dormant and the seal was removed from the door, allowing them to once again hear everything inside the interrogation room; the group of policemen began to quickly migrate to the door of the room, walking in one by one and circling the table that Shun sat at. As the officers walked in, Shun continued to take heavy pulls from the cigarette; its cherry glowing fiery red before turning into silver ash, hitting the table softly - he noted every person that came in via footsteps heard.
  139.
  140. Smoke lightly frolicked in the room, twisting and turning into random shapes and forms as the cigarette began to come to an end, the bud of the tobacco beginning to slightly burn now. “So, what is the plan? Do we keep the kid here until trial?” The officer asked the superior one, as all eyes were then placed upon the Uchiha mercenary. “Lady Suika, what do you think we sh—-“ Another officer began to ask about what they should do with Shun before the Uchiha interrupted with his next series of actions; the bud of the cigarette fell from his mouth before exploding into a plume of thick fog - as a means of escape, Shun planted these diversion smokers into his cigarettes; no one would suspect his tobacco product of harboring some means of escape.
  141.
  142. As the fog filled the room, Shun quickly hopped from the chair, faking sounds of a struggle which drew the officers away from his direction. “Here he is!” One of the officers yelled before he accidentally tackled one of his own policemen - this would cause the others to swarm and dog-pile on the officer unknowingly. BOOOM! The sound of the door being broken down was heard as the smoke billowed out of the opening the escaping Shun created. “What was that?” Surprised, the officers would finally realize they’d been hoodwinked by the bounded Uchiha, looking down to see their fellow officer groaning in pain.
  143.
  144. Elsewhere...
  145.
  146. As Shun continued to headlong spring out of the facility, he placed his bounded hands to his face, pulling his blindfold back to reveal what was before him. He had run a considerable distance through the police station, using sound as his navigation to avoid potential trouble and move quietly but quickly - after removing his blindfold, he was then caught off guard by the sound of an alarm going off: “Suspect on the loose! Suspect on the loose! Facility’s going maximum lockdown! Code red!” “Shit, shit, shit!” Shun said to himself before taking off once again, locating an opening for him to escape - only problem being that guards began to congregate in front of the door, assuring escaping easily was a futile goal.
  147.
  148. The Uchiha took a deep breath before going into a sprint towards the guarded door; he was instantly spotted by those guards. “Apprehend him NOW!” One of the guards yelled as the others began to go into sprint towards the incoming Shun. “I can’t use ninjutsu right now because of these damned shackles..” Shun’s psyche began assessing the situation before him; several officers, only one of him and his ninjutsu completely sealed off by his handcuffs. His eyes panned down to the guard’s keys, which all of them had; the goal now was to successfully get those keys and get the cuffs off - he also needed watch his back as he did so as he had to momentarily stop fighting to free himself. “3 guards.. 1, 2..” Shun started the countdown before he came in contact with the first guard to approach; he would throw a simple straight jab towards the Uchiha’s face. “3..” He said to himself before bending his body backwards slightly as he continued to run, narrowly avoiding the blow and throwing an elbow at the back of the guard. “Gah!” The sharp blow would hit the back of his cranium and cause him to fall forward; grabbing him by the back of pant’s lining, where the keys were strapped, he quickly pulled them from his belt.
  149.
  150. “2..” Shun began to countdown again as he saw the second guard come his direction - he used the disoriented guard at hand as a diversion, quickly throwing his limp body at the running guard, which - because of his speed and the spontaneous nature of Shun’s counterattack - caused him to fall backwards as the two tumbled and fell over one another. Shun then turned his attention to his shackles, continuing to run towards the exit as the last guard sat by the door - he held a bō like weapon, which he planned to use to keep Shun at bay. He stood defensively, drips of sweat perspirating from his forehead in nervousness - who was this guy and how was he effortlessly working his way through his colleagues?
  151.
  152. Click, click, CLICK! The sound of jingling keys was heard as the cuffs hit the ground with a loud clicking noise - a surge of energy flooded the Uchiha’s body as he almost became quicker with the removal of the chakra inhibitors. “1..” Shun continued to run as the guard began to give a war cry, closing his eyes and accepting that he could potentially be defeated. Shun’s eyes narrowed, focusing on the opening as his onyx colored eyes began to change - the irises of his eyes became a blood red; a complex pattern, similar to a circular saw blade, began to rotate counterclockwise from the pupil of his eyes; a black hole quickly appeared on the canvas a few feet away from Shun as he then quickly dropped into it and disappeared, the hole closing immediately after he ventured in. “W-Wait.. W-Where’d he go!?” The guard opened his eyes and - in amazement - would see that Uchiha was nowhere to be found. He was nervously scramble for his communicator; “Uchiha Shun successfully escaped; I repeat, Uchiha Shun has escaped the premises. Over.”
  153.
  154. Elsewhere...
  155.
  156. Several miles away from the facility in a nearby wooded area, the black hole would reappear and Shun was quickly spit out of the hole, falling over onto the ground and breathing heavily. “Fuck, it’s been awhile since I’ve done that.. That was fucking awesome!” He said to himself before pulling himself to his feet and gloating momentarily over his escape. He reached into his pocket and removed the pack of cigarettes, kissing it several times and stroking the box with a finger. “And people told me smoking was a bad idea; people told me that you would never benefit me. Well, they can all fuck off now..” (E)
  157.
  158. hozukisuika:
  159. Suika stepped back, narrowing her eyes at Shun as they stepped in. Already, she knew he intended to do something, she suspected it from the get go. ".. No, he will stay within the village though until trial. He is okay in my book..." Still, even as she spoke this and they began to speak again... A plume of smoke had filled the room immediately, causing her to cover her eyes in reaction. "Shit..." She had expected something up his sleeve, and she even gave it to him in the first place.
  160.
  161. Though, she was okay with this. She could tell he would be useful later on. She took a few steps back towards the wall as she looked around the fogged room, listening to the struggles before the door was knocked down. She let out a gasp as she turned towards the door and ran after him. However, once she came out of the cloud of smoke into the hallway, looking around... She had just barely watched him get around the corner, moving quickly.
  162.
  163. "Damned Uchiha... You're only making yourself look bad." She cursed as she made her way in the direction she last seen him in. Though, with how quickly he moved, he had already knocked down three guards in seconds. "Oi!" She called to him before he had made his disappearance into the black hole, which disappeared in seconds. She had the look of exasperation before she folded her arms, sighing heavily.
  164.
  165. "So, he got away..."
  166.
  167. shvn:
  168. “Now, I wonder what the next—-“ Shun began to ponder his next step before being interrupted by the sound of a swirling sound - a vortex ripping out of thin air, a dark silhouette gradually swirling and forming a familiar person - it was Shun’s contractor, Tobi. Tobi glared at the Uchiha, who gave a nervous laugh and scratched the back of his head, laughing slightly. “Okay, I fucked that up a bit, not going to lie..” He said to the Uchiha as Tobi simply placed the tips of his fingers on his orange mask, sighing and then proceeding to place his hands behind his back; “Don’t screw it up again; you’re already in good with the candidate, avoid attention and follow through with what we agreed with.. I’m sure she’ll be looking for you soon, you’ve peaked her interest..”
  169.
  170. Shun simply gave Obito a shooing motion with the back of his hand, completely ignoring his whole spill; he had began sparking another cigarette, looking to the side with his eyes closed. He took a drag of it and then looked at the masked man: “I have it under control..” He said, smoke softly billowed from between his lips as he spoke. Obito gave a sigh of annoyance and left without a word, using the same spontaneous vortex to disappear in a swirling vortex of black, red and orange colors. Shun then took a deep breath before scanning the wooded area, resuming his pondering of what the next move was - he escaped but he still had to finish the job, as well as keep a low profile from the law enforcement. Perhaps he needed another diversion? Reaching into his pocket, Shun removed a small earpiece communicator and fixed it on the side of his face, pushing the outgoing button on the device; Shun would use this to get in contact with the kingpin plotting to take over Kirigakure, a lie he didn’t completely make up - though, he did only plan to use this man’s personal agenda against him. A brief conversation ensued before an agreement was made: “So, do we have a deal?” Shun said from his end of the communicator before an incoming buzzing noise from the device was heard and the Uchiha gave a smile.
  171.
  172. Several days passed after Shun’s grand escape and now, voting for the Mizukage candidacy was beginning to unfold. Villagers alike flocked the city streets, eager (as well as nervous) to find out and celebrate the inauguration of a new leader, someone who could change their situation or make it worse. Inside of the Mizukage Residence, the remaining candidates were gathered and carefully being analyzed by Mist elders themselves to see if they were a perfect fit. A brief flashback before this moment was to be seen; the kingpin and one of the elders - who appeared ancient yet conniving in appearance - discussed their plans to overthrow the impending Kage by staging a coup d’etat and having several of his henchmen assassinate her while the crowd of civilians was at an all-time high to throw off any law enforcements. “The girl will be seated on the far left end; as I guessed, her influence over these people is growing severely and I’m afraid that she’ll be the next Kage to rule over this land. We cannot lose the little hold we have on Kirigakure, so make it quick..” The elder said before he reached into his pocket, handing the kingpin several bands of ryo in exchange for his services. Shun simply watched the masses move in waves through the village, remaining unseen from a nearby sewer drain; he peered through a pair of advanced binoculars, which focused in on the building the candidates were located in; “Is everyone in position? The ceremony is going to begin..” (E)
  173.
  174. hozukisuika:
  175. The several days, she spent putting together a fitting look for the inauguration ceremony. She didn't know if she was going to be successfully voted as the next Mizukage, since the new ruling put in place was that the villagers voiced their votes for Mizukage rather the Daimyos choose... It was better this way. And she knew what she wanted to do. With a plain blue dress that fell to her feet, and a white cloak to wear over it as well as silver colored ninja boots, she was ready for the day. Of course, outside of the outfit-making, she was also out and about with caution, greeting people and listening to villagers.
  176.
  177. This is why she was so popular, she had an ear for everyone. She always listened to their troubles and tried to help find a solution right there, or come up with a plan for a solution for the future. Still, she sat in her seat on the day of the inauguration, to the far left end. Very few of the candidates were left alive, and the choices weren't good other than her. Puppets, that's all the others were in her eyes. She didn't intend to be a puppet of the council nor the Daimyos.. She would fight to keep things straight in the village. Slowly, people began to gather around the Mizukage Mansion, where the candidates and announcers were gathered in front and above. Once the announcer began, she stood up, as well as the remaining candidates, and made their places at the top of the mansion, looking down at the crowd.
  178.
  179. She would smile softly, looking at the bright faces. Some she recognized from her youth...
  180.
  181. shvn:
  182. “And it begins..” From the masses, the enigmatic kingpin watched; he was adorned in traditional Japanese royalty attire, surrounded by several guards while in the crowd. He would grasp the head of his cane before panning his eyes over to the guards; they began to disperse into different directions, moving subtly so they wouldn’t be spotted by anyone of importance. Suika was accompanied by last second picks for Mizukage; merely pawns of the Mist’s corrupt council. They stood alongside her, waving at the crowd below before the ceremony officially began.
  183.
  184. An official sauntered before the group of potential Kage; in his hand, he held the infamous Mizukage cap, which would be given to the lucky winner of this inauguration, solidifying their leadership of Kirigakure. “Welcome all! After a lengthy voting process, you, the people, have chosen.. Officials and elders alike thought long and hard over who was most qualified to run this village..” The official said, beginning a whole irrelevant ramble that honestly meant little to the ceremony.
  185.
  186. “Will this guy ever shut the fuck up? Jeez..” Shun, by this point, made his appearance within the crowd of individuals, moving subtly as well because of his current notoriety. His psyche was becoming impatient, ready for the official to get down to the nitty gritty. The speech continued for a short while before the official turned his back, smiling at the candidates: “I can proudly say.. Our newest Mizukage, appointed by the people for her love of this village, as well as its people.. Of the Hozuki Clan..” The official was cut short by the sound of several people jumping upon the stage, swarming quickly around the candidates; Shun watched from afar, keeping an eye on the kingpin who watched with a grin upon his snide look upon his face. The candidates other than Suika were quickly apprehended and tossed from the stage, singling her out as she was about to be announced as the Mizukage - she was their target.
  187.
  188. “Alright.. Showtime..” Shun said before removing a cigarette from his pack and sparking it, dropping and stepping upon it as a plume of smoke arose. This took the attention off of Suika momentarily as the kingpin’s guards were unaware of Shun’s back-stabbing ways; they assumed the Calvary had come to save her. The kingpin gritted his teeth before beginning to move through the swarming crowd of people, who were panicking at this point; the crime lord was met by Shun, who would quickly but subtly use a tanto blade to cut his midsection in a seppuku like fashion. “Wh-What? How dare.. you betray..” The kingpin spit up blood as he tried to get the words out, grabbing unto his large stomach and careening over the canvas; dead.
  189.
  190. The guards were startled as they knew Shun and the kingpin made a deal prior to this ceremony; Shun, staring up at the crowd of henchmen, began to walk towards them as they began to grit their teeth. Shun would use this moment to motion Suika with a smirk to utilize this opportunity to eliminate the enemies before her. 5 henchmen stood upon the stage; they were about to dwindle down to nothing. (E)
  191.
  192. hozukisuika:
  193. The moment the other candidates were tossed aside was when things started to crumble apart. She picked up on the intentions rather quickly despite their attempts to hide it. It was too late - She had already began to summon a puddle at her feet, prepared for anything if anyone tried anything funny. Of course, she didn't expect the plume of smoke in the crowd - nor did she expect to find Shun making his appearance to slay the Daimyo.... Utter shock was lain plain on her face. Quickly, she regained composure and made her stance as she was approached by the henchmen that intended to make sharkbait out of her.
  194.
  195. Slowly, a sneer began to grow on her face, a sinister grin. "So, you filthy pigs intended to slay me in front of my people? Then, how about I give my people a show; I will not let any corrupt shinobi OR council govern my people! We shall bathe in peace from this day forth!"With that said, with complete chakra control, tendrils began to rise from the waters at her feet. Some of the guards stepped back for a second in fear, while others stepped forward in anticipation. However, those that stepped up immediately got whipped by the tendrils with a flick of her wrist {woot woot}, causing them to fall backwards in response.
  196.
  197. This, in turn, caused the remaining to jump and start charging at her. With a flash of her eyes, she melted completely into the puddle before sliding forward and sprouting spike-shaped tendrils that jabbed into limbs of the mere thugs, as they really are just thugs to her. Several of them went down, having lost limb use of legs, others crying out as they stood there holding an arm. She would then reform at the front of the stage with her hands up in the air.
  198.
  199. What the people had seen from the Mizukage was spared these peoples' lives instead of taking them down. Now, she was preparing to make an announcement. "With assumption that I've been placed as the new Mizukage... I will hereby banish these shinobi guards from these lands for their act of betrayal to this village of peace."
