  1. Chapter Seventy Two: Antigraphs
  2.
  3. Antigraphs are a race of creatures that exist in pure antithesis of Iconographs. While Iconographs are creatures of knowledge and form, Antigraphs are creatures of indistinction and redaction They are creatures with no set or distinct shape, and not in the sense that they all have different forms or their form is constantly shifting. When studied objectively without things like senses getting in the way of categorizing things, they appeared not as any energy signature, or form in space, but rather the absence of that. Wherever an Antigraph is perceived as being, you are not perceiving the Antigraph. You are observing the ab̷͔̳̈́̔́̏́sence of substance that the presence of an Antigraph is creating. Thankfully this lack of substance is visible in the form of what appears to be shadowy substance in strange forms that sometimes resemble creatures if you squint but other times are completely non-describable. This shadowy substance is almost fuzzy around the edges and seems to almost flick out in something that can best be described as a static like effect, but even that isn't quite right. Even still Antigraphs are known to be inconsistent in even their form of movement. They are known to seem to skip through space, suddenly having their presence appear in a different configuration or having the appearance of having moved suddenly, something akin to a VCR skipping. Antigraphs are wildly unpredictable in their behavio̸̰̗͙̲͊́͝͝ṙ̶̨̲̒̕͠. Sometimes they are seen idling for no particular reason, until spurred into action and seeking out stores of knowledge.
  4. And with that note we turn our attention to w̸̜̹͠ͅh̶̨̛̟̹̽̿̀̄͆̇̇̀̑̏̀̈́͘a̴͍̺͙̯̋̾́͛̓͗͌̀̒̂̇͆̅̕t makes them tick. Not that we have more than an inkling of what that is. Antigraphs seem to be drawn to knowledge, they are almost attracted by it. And once they come into a vicinity of said knowledge, their inherent effects come into play. Antigraphs are beings that corrupt and destroy information through their mere presence. This can vary based on the strength of the Antigraph. A word missing in a word document, a picture with shadowy lines jutting into frame obscuring the face of a relative, a book found on a library shelf that has nothing but blank pages, a g̵͉̟͓͔͂̅̈̂̋͌̕͘͠͝h̵͎͕͂̒́͛̔̇̓͝͝o̷̱̼̹͉̯̳̎̀̓̈́̂̆͐͘̕s̶̡̬̹̤̍̅͊̀͋̚͜t̵͈̟̯͈͂̎̂̎͊̀̉̿͋̚͘͠͠ town that no one can quite remember the name of anymore, the face of a loved one faded from memory. These effects are not always pronounced, some weaker Antigraphs are near impossible to detect because of this. Sentient Creatures and large areas can be subject to the effects of older Antigraphs in pronounced ways. Creatures are subject to a variety of different possible effects due to an encounter with an Antigraph and the effects of Elder Antigraphs are theorized to have changed the course of h̸͎̟͐̎̑͛͜͝i̶̢͇̘̟͉̟͉̫̻̬͖͍͂͗̈́͌͠ş̷͉͙͙̜̫̘̦͛̈̽ẗ̶̨̠͕͓̳̹͕̗͇̦́̇̔̀̿̿̊͒͛͊͝ͅͅo̷̢̨̟͉̻̯͔̝͈͇̥̙̯̻͒͂̅̌̂̇͊͌̾͗̔̀̿͛͗r̸̢̟̦̩̬̯͕̗̓́̏͂͆̅̎͛̋̇͌͜͠y̴̢̨̛̪̪̩̥͎̺̥͕̤̣̯͉̋̆̾̍̇̇̏̀̓̔̎̉̉̕ͅ. One particular case of a man recorded as being attacked by an Antigraph and surviving was found days later in a mental hospice, barely able to remember how to breathe. Another wasn't found at all. And then there is of course the Library Of Alexandria, but no one can quite agree if Antigraphs were involved in that at all. Widescale destruction of information follows the trails of all major Antigraphs, and many believe that the presence of the first Antigraph, and its later removal from our plane by means unknown, was responsible for the era of time known as the Dark Ages.
  5. While Antigraphs are generally thought to not have violent tendencies, there are exceptions to the rule. Some Antigraphs are relentless in their pursuit of information for reasons unknown, although some theorize their effect on information provides a kind of nourishment to them and allows them to grow. This does not mean they actively attempt to destroy life, in fact they cannot direct interact with living beings due to their unique existence. This does not mean they are h̴͔̩̝̦̭̤̍̋ả̸̧̛̦͚̭̖͕͉̠̪̖͛̒̒̓̓̈́̉̕ȑ̸̡̨̛̩̱̺͚̯̣̫͇̻͉̥̇̃̇̕͜m̸̨̛̹͔͇͕̘̮̞͈̜͓̞̿̍͊͐̔͛̀̇͆͠ͅľ̶̥̗̪̖̥̭̰̖̬̬͎̃̾̌ͅḙ̷̮̰̱̪̈́s̴̡̧͉͔͉̖̤̠̩͍̏̀̿̀͆͒̂̋̕š̷̨̭͖͔̜̜̲̲͓ to touch ̶̛̓͋͊͗̇̐̆͋̇̂̉͜͝͝h̴͕͖͉̬̳̀̄͐͑̇͘ǫ̷̘̠͓̣̳̭̬̮̭̱̗̬̳͓͗w̶̞̼̺̗̮̞̤̫̔͂ͅȩ̵̛͙̼͈͈̲̹͕̘̫͕̤̏̏̐̑̂̄͛͆͌̊͑̀͝ͅver. In addition to their latent effects, coming into contact with an Antigraph's negative space will lead to any offending body parts being subject to the same lack of being that makes up the Antigraph's presence. In the case of smaller Antigraphs you'll find strange cuts you dont quite remember getting. In the case of older Antigraphs it is recommended you keep a last will and testament in a location outside of it's i̷̭̪̥̯̥̳͌̊̽̄͒̈̀͝n̴͚̙͙̳̤̫̝̪͓̫̄̊̇̅͜͠͠͝f̵̺̭̑̉̏̆͒͝͠l̷̦͈̝̂̏͑̓͜u̷͇͚̓ͅe̵͈̰̪̗͂́ņ̸̜̣͇̝͋̊͗̂̈́̽̊̎̔̍̆ͅč̴̡̱̭͉̞̯͓̬̍̅̆e̴̢̡̛̞̪͍̹̓̐̈̾ͅ.
